I very much love reading this series, and this anthology was no exception. This anthology is entertaining, it is full of enjoyable friendships, and the mysteries are intriguing. This was a a bit of an easy read, but that's part of what I like about it. I read enough nonfiction books and epic-length adventure fantasy novels that I like to take a break to read a novel where taking notes isn't needed.
I love that this series as a whole contains no foul language, is clean, shows a faith in God, is Christian-based, and isn't overly dramatic. I am also thankful that this series provides a way to experience adventure. Though I am in my early-30s, I have some health conditions that prohibit me from being as active and adventurous as I'd like to be. This series helps to fill that desire for adventure, so thank you.
There are a couple of scriptural things I would like to address. The first one refers to "Judge not lest you be judged." This quote on page 532 references the passage found in Matthew 7:1-5. If you read the verses, then you see that you can condemn someone's actions/behavior (especially of a friend) when you aren't being a hypocrite and are coming from a place of love. When we notice a friend being sinful, shouldn't we talk with them about it? For further explanation, I recommend an article from Apologetics Press called "To Judge or Not to Judge?"
The second scriptural item I'd like to address is regarding the scripture that was referenced on page 640. The verse that was referenced is found in the passage Matthew 18:15-20, and the context of the passage is about how to deal with an errant brother (or sister) in Christ. So it was a little out of context for Millie's situation. Instead, Romans 8:28 might have been the better choice. It states, "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good for those who are called according to his purpose." While we may not get exactly what we ask for when we pray, God will give us exactly what we need and at the exact time we need it.
