Pru Warren (who is writing this in the third person as if simply too modest to toot her own horn) bores easily and thus has been a daydreamer since roughly the Bronze Age. She is addicted to writing because in a novel, you can make things come out the RIGHT way. Life and karma really ought to take note; there are BETTER SOLUTIONS to these pesky daily annoyances! Beside her in-the-laptop God Complex, Pru laughs often and easily, loathes cooking, and plays way too much solitaire. She's plotting world domination even as you read this, as long as she doesn't have to wake up too early to accomplish it.

    This book will remain in my memories as my first read of 2021 after the year that was, well, you know. It was such a GREAT book to start the year with, it was an absolutely entertaining, quirky, delightful story with a little surprise suspense. I was invested from the start and got more devoted to the characters and their stories as I read.

    Pru Warren’s character development is outstanding. Maddy, Cyn and Rhys were all relatable and all of them stolen a piece of my heart. The storyline was sometimes so unexpected that it kept me giddy with anticipation of what was to come next.

    This is my first book by Ms. Warren, but it won’t be my last. A quick, highly engaging story with marvelous characters, I highly recommend this book.

    An improbable and delightful storyline (honestly, is there anything cooler than a retro cat burglar?) but the real gems in this book are the characters. I hope Wanda reappears in a later one (I'm new to the author but have the week off to binge read), as she seems like fun. I'm still not clear on how she's connected to the Oatmeal Man.

    I loved the story line, mystery, and romance, but you had me in the opening scenes in the grocery store. I’ve got my own Maddy in my life (due to a brain injury vs dementia), and your portrayal is real and my learning about living in the moment have also come from this. Enjoyed it all, including names and acronyms for people, but especially focusing on some of the ‘positives’ that exist when there is no show term memory, but also the excitement of a good conversation when they are there with you (randomly and fleetingly). Also, with other neurological sidelines, I wondered what else you may have studied. Very entertaining!

I know it’s fiction so it doesn’t have to be too closely linked to reality but the storyline develops so crazily that it reminds you you’re reading a book (I know that sounds weird but I like books that take me away to the story). I enjoyed it. I don’t regret the purchase. I just didn’t love it.

It also was a little irritating at times as the number of baddies picked up but once it all came together at the end I was ok with that part but still a bit irritated with ineptitude of the FBI agents just not enough to make me stop reading.     I thoroughly enjoyed this story, I didn't laugh out loud but I did smile a lot and shake my head, especially during the kidnapping scenes. I really had trouble trying to figure that out, but it all became clear in the end.
    This story could have gone on for longer and I would have been very happy to keep reading.
