Dirty Bad Savage ~ Review Ok first I need to mention that my 'Go to' is romance through and through. I've read variations of erotica and for a time thoroughly enjoyed it, however there seemed to be a phase where anyone thought they could write that stuff, and well, I'd had enough of reading bad erotica. So recently I've avoided it unless it comes highly recommended from a good friend. I received an ARC for an honest review. I went into this blind. Not even having read Dirty Bad Wrong so I didn't know what to expect. Well...... I LOVED IT. I was pleasantly surprised by how much so. It worked extremely well as a standalone, yet there was just enough mention of characters from the previous book for me to want to read that too!! At the beginning it reminded me of the Martina Cole books I used to read many years ago. With the underbelly of grime and crime and gangs being in the forefront. It wasn't just a story about BDSM, there was an actual storyline too. I enjoyed the depiction of the hard life that people have to endure. I felt the dialogue was true to the UK. I also enjoyed how the main characters met and ultimately kept on getting together when they really shouldn't. The sex scenes were definitely hot, and I didn't feel they were excessive in their amount. Sex for sex sake is not enjoyable for me to read but Jade West got the mix just right. (although I would've enjoyed more Club Explicit action) I liked the angst too, who doesn't?? There is however a really difficult scene towards the end, around 80% in, that some readers may find a little 'Savage' but there is a warning that comes with this book. So yeah you have been warned. Yes overall I really enjoyed this read and I'm definitely downloading the first book too. Well done x you've made a fan out of me x Hayley (Read Love Repeat)

    This book! Wow. I'm nearly speechless. Dirty Bad Savage is the second book in this series (I hope there will be more!), and I absolutely loved it.

    If you read my review of Dirty Bad Wrong, you know the BDSM scenes made me nervous and a bit grossed out (and the author's warning in the front of this book made me laugh!) However, I loved the story and I loved the characters. Jade West is a phenomenal writer! This book really shows her writing chops.

    First off, I adored Callum! I loved him from the first scene. I loved his wild demeanor, I loved his fearlessness, and most of all, I loved his soft heart and his love for his dog, Casey. OMG, that won me over in a huge way! I felt so sorry for the life Callum has led, and the pain he's gone through. His struggles are real- stuff like this really happens! The rough neighborhoods, the gangs, the drugs, the sex, the fight to survive. A maternal part of me just wanted to keep him safe and sheltered. He really stole my heart.

    Jade did a great job portraying all this, and what won me over the most was the use of language. Jade was so good at writing his mannerisms, his speech, the slang, the un-educated way he and his friends talk. The dialogue of this book is so different than the dialogue of the first book, and that's how I knew that Jade is good... really, really good. If you'll notice, I'm a bit of a stickler on an author's writing style. It's the first thing I look for-a natural flow. If the writing is stilted, I won't read the book.

    Sophie is great, and I love that she took to Casey so quickly. I love that she's willing to give Callum a chance (and who wouldn't, eh?). I still don't understand her need for pain, but this second book focused more on the story and less on the BDSM scenes. I didn't really bat an eye at the Club Explicit scenes in this book, so maybe I'm getting used to it? :) I was glad to see Sophie choosing her own way in life instead of cowing down to her family's pressures and demands. Sadly, it took her a while to "man up" and it nearly cost her everything. The garbage scene? Gross. Really gross, but I felt Callum's pain so much that it was just...I loved him all the more.

    I was so thrilled to see the gang from Book 1! I really didn't realize how attached I'd gotten to Raven, Cara, Masque and Cat until I saw them in this book. I was so, so happy! James (aka Masque) takes Callum under his wing, and the whole Explicit crew were so welcoming to him! They didn't care that he was homeless, and they accepted him into their family. It really is a family, too! I just love them all. Raven was awesome. What a sweet friend to Sophie and Callum!

    I'm hoping and praying that Jade writes a third book and brings back the crew! I wanna see if there will be an Explicit baby, and I want to check back in with Callum and Sophie. I'm hooked!

    Sophie and Callum are extreme opposites. But well done ones at that! You really get to see why they are how they are, not just one’s angry and one’s looking for adventure. Sophie works hard and plays hard, but isn’t satisfied right now. Callum has a s***** life which gets even worse but he sticks by it because it is his life. The way they meet each other was nicely handled, not just “here they see each other and instant love!”. Their relationship as cautious acquaintances-to-friends develops nicely and smoothly into a more romantic one, yet keeping with the ‘savage’ theme.

    Yes, the repetition that Callum is a ‘dirty bad savage’ grates on the nerves a bit, but I guess it’s one of Sohpie’s favorite things about Callum. Which could be good or bad, depending on how their relationship would develop post-book. Speaking of, the book starts off with a BDSM scene that is awesome in how real the lack of zing/chemistry can hurt it. The majority of the sex is written fairly well, with hot interactions between the characters. There is butt stuff, but minor. One scene near the end was gross not in the sexual aspect, but just pretty unappealing because of what happens during it, but also how it feels almost non-con despite consent being given. I don’t know how to explain that one, but it wasn’t a deal breaker, just something I had to read through to get past it.

    The side characters that were more than mentioned felt pretty real, even that crappy boss. Raven and Masque were three dimensional, so much so that I really want to know more about them! I purchased this book because it sounded great, and was delighted to find out the first novel is about Masque, who intrigues me. He sounds like a nicey-nice guy who’s BDSM persona is magnificently masterful. Can’t wait to read that one!

    The writing was really high quality, so don’t doubt that! I felt a part of this book, so much so that at one scene where you know one character is about to hurt the other I had to put it down because I couldn’t bare to see the second one suffer! Kind of like second-hand embarrassment when you’re watching TV or a film and you’re like “No, stop! Just don’t do it!” Fabulous book despite those little bothers that are easy to push aside in favor of the rest of the story. I hope to read more of West’s novels as she releases them!

    Finally a different story…the MMC is not a millionaire/billionaire…he’s not older than the FMC.
    Now don’t get me wrong, I still love these type of books, but this genre is saturated with them!!

    Her we meet the beautiful, talented, savage Callum 🥵 he’s from a housing estate, basically homeless and a neglected child.
    However he has heart, integrity, and loyalty. Not to mention he’s hot hot hot.

    Sophie is from money and she actually almost 10 years older than Callum. She’s sweet, gutsy and looking for her perfect Mr Dangerous.

    Absolutely loved every single bit of this story. Good on Jade for doing something so different, so honest, so raw. Need more of this.

    Also loved hearing from the guys from the first book. Especially Raven.

    Can’t wait to read the next book.

    This is a love story of 2 people from different upbringings. Sophie is a rich girl and black sheep of the family, who is part of the BDSM Explicit crowd. Callum is a savage, ex- con with a beautiful talent for painting, who lives on the streets and calls nowhere home. Their paths cross due to Sophie’s work in the projects. Their is tons of chemistry, but Callum’s insecurities keep him away. Until Sophie brings him to Club Explicit, a new experience for Callum and opens him up to his dominant side.     I loved Callum Jackson and I liked Sophia. I love a good Cinderella story hehe- even when Cinderella is a dude and he is "rescued" from his life of tragedy by a woman... he rescued her too.

    This story was dirty too!! Nasty and delicious and I thought it was awesome. The writing was outstanding in its wickedness and I enjoyed every single second of this one.

    Loved it. Read it in a day. Such well fleshed out main characters who you really care about and who get down and really really dirty. Not as much shock value for me as the first book but still lots of hot hot moments between two great characters. Good to see that Bex, Masque and some other explicit regulars make appearances too.
