- Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2013What a gem to find in the Amazon haystack! Brilliantly written; play on words (a horse named Elmer! Ha!), dark humor, shocking moments. It has an endearing old-timey-radio-show quality to it. A lot of fun to read. I already cannot wait for the next installment! I hope others can and will appreciate the eccentricity of Dark Excursions.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Mystery of Entangled Lives
I chose this rating as the story intrigued me and dragged me to the end wanting to know what had happened.
I felt no common ground with any of the characters except Dinkel as they all appeared to be without purpose or morals but this was not a fault in the writing, just in my taste. I believed innately that there were people like this is the world - but I would spend no time with them. I've come to the end of Part One and need to read the rest in search of the final outcome.
This was a good read and good pace. It's written in the present tense which seems to make it feel like it's actually happening now.
