Alchemy of a Witch: Part Two:Separation and Conjunction (A Dark Root Ancestry Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.8 out of 5 stars 60 ratings

"Why would a witch bargain with the devil?" Morgan asked the young pilgrim marching alongside her.
The boy gave her a toothy grin, obviously pleased to pass along his wisdom. "The devil gives the witch her powers! He gives her the power to curse folk, to turn a man impotent, to command the weather, and to even take a soul! That's the devil's ultimate goal--collecting souls. We must always be vigilant," the boy said, stroking the silver cross dangling from his neck.
********************************
In the second installment of the Alchemy of a Witch series, Morgan returns to Leckwich to save her childhood friend from the nefarious Witch Hunter General and his band of mercenaries. There, she encounters old acquaintances, new allies, and long-forgotten magick. And she learns that she, herself, is the Witch Hunter's ultimate prize.

Excellent continuation of Book One with unexpected twists of fate.
New insights into Morgan and a loss of some of her innocence.

All I can say is that this is a great series and what a great job April did with intwining the fates of all who are involved. Getting ready to find out what happens next in Book 3.

This chapter can only be summed up by saying Morgan/Bridget is torn. She's at a crossroads and the whole book is about her journey to the next destination.

I can't say a whole a lot happened in this book, although it seems like she made movement because of her travels but she still hasn't accomplished anything she set out to do.

The author mentions that Morgan took 3 lovers prior and this was never said yet so I am wondering when this happened. I am not even quite sure how old Morgan is, I am assuming in her 20's and I am trying to figure out how this ties into the last series with Juliana because I am pretty sure she was the one teaching her.

Anyway I digress, proofreading could have been better there were a couple mistakes but all in all a good chapter.

If you haven't read any of April Aashiem's books start now, they are definitely must reads. They aren't your typical witch stories. Each one is different, no cookie cutters here. And each one leaves you wanting more.
