About the author

So you're interested in me are you? You're sure you don't want to go back and read the stories?
All right, here's a little about me. I was born and raised in Iowa on a small acreage in the country side. Between bouts of manual labor involving the maintenance of various vegetable matter or the construction of habitation I spent much of my time with my nose in a book, or out imagining myself a rebel soldier in the forests of some alien moon. I filled my head with all the Sci-Fi TV shows I could watch in the 80s along with a fascination for astronomy and space exploration. By the time I reached middle school I added an avid interest in history and computer technology to the mix.
I wrote my first story in 5th grade, and it was the beginning of a long relationship between me and reams of paper. By the time I reached high school I'd written dozens of stories and had begun laying down the foundation for the novels I would soon start writing. As a Sophomore I started work on what could be considered a rough draft of The Blerenstian War, and I spent the next two years building up the characters and universe before culminating in the writing of Forgotten Battles, my first complete novel, by the end of my Senior year in high school. The Dagger's Point soon followed in my first years of college before I succumbed to the need to actually study so I could get my degree in Computer Engineering.
After leaving college I began working on a The Blerenstian war as I moved into the working world. I wrote most of the novel while I lived in Connecticut, before I moved to Boston. Through my years in Boston I've worked on several stories, and I hope to bring them to fruition in the coming years.
From Boston, I moved to Japan for a bit over a year, and had a great opportunity to explore life in a more alien environment, not that Japan is really another world, but it was a wonderful experience. It was here I was able to meet my wife and begin another new chapter to my life.
After another few years in Boston, I've arrived in Oregon, with a new job and a hope to delve back into my writing projects. I hope you have taken a chance to read my stories here and have enjoyed them. Look forward to more in the future and thanks for reading!

- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2012Very readable and had me fearful of the end to the last. Much of the battle scenario was similar to the mass tank warfare of the Russian front in WWII. Massive casualties and calamity. The setting is 'Trekish' with many races. Ranks and formations were similar to the 'trek' universe balderdash. My hope (and I purchased all three books in print) is that the author will write, write, write and improve with time. One super bad point was the 'character ship/personnel' dropping out of a fleet command position and going of on a 'rescue mission of leadership'. Fleet commanders just can NOT do that, but Trek's TNG did. Read the background material in the back. The author has 'special' items muck like E. E. "Doc" Smith did for 'Skylark' and the 'Lensmen' series. I believe this is #2 in the series. Thanks, Harry.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2012"Bof" as the French say. Normally I would like this kind of book. The United Coalition of Earth has been invaded and we're following the crew of a spaceship in the coalition fleet. To spice things up the coalition have just invented a cloaking device which they hope will give them an edge against the superior attacking forces. Sounds good, right?
Unfortunately, the book is not very good. Although the story and the ingredients are promising it really fails to "take off". It's really choppy with chapters of fairly uninspiring space battles interspersed with lots and lots of conversation between crew members which are dull and uninteresting.
There's really no connection between the battles and you never really get the feeling that they are part of a whole campaign leading towards an ultimate goal. In the second half the already outnumbered coalition forces learn the news that another bunch of space empires have declared war against them. That should really seal their fate since the coalition was already outnumbered but somehow it doesn't.
For no good reason a conspiracy theory is also introduced in the second half of the book which also really doesn't lead anywhere. Then towards the end of the book I guess the author got bored with writing since suddenly and without any plausible explanation the invaders just give up. What the f...?
The fact that the author starts to spew out a bunch of anti-free-market political propaganda in the middle of the book doesn't really help the book. I gave it two Goodread stars since it's not the worst one I've read but that was really barely. I was thinking about giving it one.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2012This one of those books you had a feeling it was going to bad and it was. The crew was boring, writing boring and the space battles where boring!!! Some books have too much techno stuff, nothing to worry about here. Love how some writers gets down to the nuts and bolts of the ships and weapons, give me details so I can build a picture in my mind as I read...nothing like that in this book. I know its only 99 cents, but there are a lot of good 99 cents books out there...this isn't one of them. At least the writer could have changed the font for the names of the ships..!!!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 10, 2012Boring. The enemy just gives up? No explanation? Did the author lose interest and didn't know how to end it. Their world is coming to an end, friends are dieing by the tens of thousands but they can sure party hardy--come on let's get real.
