    Let me start by saying I am loving this series as a while and Dax and Travis’ story is no exception to that. I loved the backstory and history the characters shared in the past, and how it developed and changed when Travis reentered Dax’s life. The background mob story was a bit less fleshed out than the others but still good, and the real star of this story was of course the connection and development of Dax and Travis as a couple. And the love scenes were incredibly steamy, you almost had to fan yourself. Another great addition to this great series.

    I love this whole series. I've given every book five star rating. But there is entirely too much sex. I don't mind one or two scenes. But now it seems to be like every other chapter. There is the internet for that stuff. I skip those segments. They go on and on and on.

    Okay sex aside, I love these stories. This one was no different than the rest. It was fascinating. It was exciting. Had me sitting on the edge of my seat. It was romantic. And of course there was lots and lots and lots and lots of sex. Which was as much as I mentioned in the previous paragraph.

    I like Dax. He's dark and dangerous. Travis ended up disappointing because he became like a damsel in distress at the end, needing to be saved and rescued twice. After insisting on being part of the action, his incompetence was a let down.

I'm really excited for the next book in this series.

But that's not the only desire.

    Travis is damaged goods after his horrible past with Rob. He knows how to survive, but the past is not letting him go when bad men show up. Can he fall for his friend and protector Dax? What would his brother Beau think of that?

    You will find out. Action-packed, a lot of seggsy times, hurt/comfort, and a HEA.

    This book is a really fun read. There is a fair amount of bad stuff that happens but it’s what I would call “Mafia Lite”. By this I mean that the “bad guy” hero isn’t portrayed as evil or psychotic. There are reasons given for why they are the way they are and it’s obvious that there will be a happy ending. One of the things that I like about Silvia Violet’s writing is her way with intimate interactions. Steam level high with lots of D/s action. If this sounds like something you might like then I recommend this whole series to you.

    That said her men think an awful lot like women and have unrealistic emotional maturity which takes from the stories for me. All the internal monologues remove all story tension. But the Bayou provides a great locale...
