Death Notice (Kisses and Killers Thrillers) Kindle Edition
Police detective Jen Dillon has a lot on her plate. Between finding a brutal serial killer who is preying on her city’s women and raising a son on her own, she doesn’t have time for a man.
But when FBI Special Agent Will Anderson joins the hunt for the killer, she starts to reconsider.
Will’s focus is on the killer. He believes him to be the son of a serial killer he caught years before. But when he sets eyes on Jen for the first time, he still wants the killer, but he also wants Jen.
The killer has one goal. He wants to trap the man responsible for putting his father in prison. Jen Dillon is the perfect bait.

About the author

I write cozy mysteries and romances as Lolli Powell, as well as grittier mysteries and thrillers as Laurel Heidtman. I live with my husband and two cats on private land surrounded by Daniel Boone National Forest in Kentucky. Over the years, I've paid the bills by being a dancer, a bartender, a police officer, a registered nurse and a technical writer. But then I always had trouble figuring out what I wanted to be when I grew up!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2022Wow! This story packs on hellava suspenseful punch. I’ve never second guessed who the criminal was so frequently as I did up until the moment the identity was revealed. Kudos to the author for writing a storyline that was as entertaining and captivating as it was frightening. Frightening because I knew the killer was in plain sight and known, and his POV was chilling.
This was my first book by this author but it won’t be my last! I already have the next book in the series downloaded from KU.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2020Not a dull moment to be had in this book. From the start, you'll want to keep turning the pages. Engaging, well-written plot, great characters, believable situations and actions. Sexy FBI agent Will and Detective Jen have to face more than a serial killer on the loose; sparks fly between the two the moment they set eyes on each other. You'll have plenty of suspects to choose from... Will you guess right?
- Reviewed in the United States on May 7, 2020Just finished my first Lolli Powell read. Decided on this book since it had all of the elements I was looking for in my current reads: A heroine in Law Enforcement mixed in with a hefty amount of danger. And this author did not disappoint.
I immediately liked Detective Jen Dillion and her 13 year old son who was utilized very well in this story. I also like that the author did not go the typical route of having the killer kidnap the child to catch the mom.
And speaking of the killer... The killer was actually scary. The author did a fabulous job in taking the reader into his mind and taking the reader on the hunt.
Also loved that the author took time with the story and really did not rush to reveal the killer, I actually thought it was someone else.
I enjoyed my first read by this author and just picked up another one of her books, The Boy Next Door.
Very good read, 4 stars.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2021First time reading this author glad I took the chance. Good mix of suspense, romance and even some humor! Fairly fast paced and certainly a nice read for the beach or lake.
Will definitely read other books by Lollie Powell.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 18, 2020With a serial killer on the loose and a hunky FBI agent, this book starts off with a bang. I found the relationship between Dillon and Anderson quite electric and fun.
Great dialogue and writing moves you along the pages as you seek answers to this tale. It was chilling to read the killer’s narrative, how easy the planning and reasoning came to him really frightened me. The events near the end literally had me shaking with worry.
I really enjoyed this book and that I chose to read it during the daylight hours lol.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2021Thoroughly enjoyed this thriller. Written in a style similar to J D Robb I remained totally engaged in the story. Hard to put down. Well done!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2021This was basically a good book. The Blurb did mention a serial killer but not the explicit gruesome details of the murders. I enjoyed the small amount of romance but I prefer a little crime to a lot romance and this book was just the opposite

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely brilliant
A thriller keeps you reading guessing wondering all the way.Amazingly strong feisty female and a yummy FBI guy fight to find the nasty killer falling for each other hard, along the way. Great supporting characters makes this a well rounded romantic thriller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Death Notice
Death Notice is a very entertaining read, ideal for lovers of romantic mysteries. The central characters, detective Jen Dillon and FBI Special Agent Will Anderson, are engaging and in particular I enjoyed the domestic aspect of Jen’s life, which made her more sympathetic and believable than some of the detectives you find in this genre.
As they search for a serial killer, the relationship between Jen and Will develops at a natural pace while the search itself is full of tense, page-turning moments. The depiction of the serial killer was also a highlight.
Well written, Death Notice is a fine example of the romantic-mystery genre, which often can be loaded too much one way or the other, but in this novel the author strikes the perfect balance. Very enjoyable and thoroughly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good mix of romance and crime thriller!
This was a very enjoyable mix of a crime thriller with a large dollop of romance. The story captured me early and progressed through twists and turns to an exciting ending. Quite early on in the book I was sure I had detected the serial killer but I was wrong! I suspect the author intentionally made me jump to a false conclusion. The story passed the test of being difficult to put down once I had started reading! The first time I have read this author but it won't be the last. Well written and easy to recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent.
Another superb thriller from Lolli which I highly recommend.
Keeps you guessing about the killers identity as you try and work out who is guilty.
Great characters interwoven within a great story.
Cannot wait to pick the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Page-turning and compelling blend of murder mystery and romance.
I found this a very well plotted and fast paced page-Turner, with great characters and a good balance between the murder mystery and the romance. I was also given a scary view inside the deranged mind of a serial killer, whose identity was a well-kept secret.
If you are a fan of detective stories and romance, then you will enjoy this book enormously. I found it hard to put down!
