Delivering Dante: Made Marian Series Book 6 Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 2,723 ratings

AJ: I know Dante’s story better than anyone. After all, I was the one who rescued him from his homophobic, abusive father eight years ago. Since then, I’ve kept my distance, but when I run into him at the Marian House gala and he doesn’t recognize me, I can’t resist the incredible, sensitive man he’s become.

I would do anything to protect Dante Marian, but what if his past keeps me from being part of his future?

Dante: Every new relationship has obstacles, it just turns out that ours involves my bumbling inexperience (ugh), an octogenarian naughty toy party (don’t ask), and being on the run in an RV with Aunt Tilly (it involves the Secret Service— no really, don’t ask).

When my biological father takes his homophobic views to a national platform, the only way to stand up for what I believe in is to claim my past and confront him. So now it’s time to decide: do I put the past behind me and walk away from AJ for good or face my biggest fear and fight for what’s mine?

Fair warning: Dante and AJ’s story contains frequent detailed scenes of man parts touching, little old ladies being inappropriate (this time with, ah, props), and two hearts finding their HEA when they least expect it.

While it can also be read on its own, Delivering Dante is the sixth in the Made Marian series. Each book tells the story of one of the Marian brothers' search for true love.

Trigger Warning: Delivering Dante includes references to domestic violence and conversion therapy.

Lucy Lennox has this amazing way of delivering a story that has heart and depth, real emotions and obstacles to overcome, overflow your heart with love and make you feel all the feels characters, and real laugh out loud my face hurts from smiling so much humour all without being too down in the doldrums angsty or being too the sugar hurts my teeth sweet. This series, and Delivering Dante, is perfect for those who want some angst but not to be dragged down. Who want to smile and laugh but be tempered with the down to earth real life issues. Who enjoy a bit of silly all in good fun without it being too over the top beyond belief crazy. Who want to fall madly, deeply, ridiculously in love with the sweetest, kindest, most adorable guys you can possibly think of. Who want to be so engrossed in a story that you can't put it down because you must read it all. Who are prepared to be so overcome with love, smiles and feels you just don't know what to do with yourself when you reach "the end" and find you're just staring blankly for a little while wondering what to do with yourself now until you eventually realize all you can do is just start re-reading from Borrowing Blue on until Delivering Dante's audio book is out.

I finished reading this yesterday and I'm still in a happy love stupor trying to pull myself together. As the blurb mentions Delivering Dante can technically be read as a standalone but you're going to miss out on so much if you don't read the rest first. For those of you who have prepare for all kinds of squees and swooning a bit after the halfway mark!

Did I fall in love? Head over heals

Would I re-read? Absolutely! over and over and then when the audio comes out I'll be listening over and over.

Were there moments- sad, funny, sweet, fantasy fueling- that I replay? I managed to stop daydreaming long enough to write this but just barely :)

Was it worth the money? I've received each book as an arc, and I've bought each book anyway. This book is no exception.

Ive been slowly reading my way through the Made Marian Series and I've loved them all. This 6 book in the Series brings back a lot of the previous book couples along with the rest of the Marian clan. I loved the story and the issues it brings up are important, but the humor prevents it from being a downer. Trigger warnings are appropriate, as the author does go into some detail of the horrible past of the main character Dante. But the plot of this book is bracketed by some pretty funny moments that prevent the book from being too dark. This is part of a romantic comedy Series, or maybe a romantic dramedy Series, so I am sure, the author didn't want to be too depressing. The deep plot of this book could have just been one heartbreaking scene after another but it wasn't. I came away from it with a sense of peace and happiness. Some people might not be too happy with the end as it didn't explain the fall out from the big confrontation but it felt complete to me.

Oh the feels in this book. They are big. This is not a silly fluff romance. This book is emotional and gives you all the big feels - one minute I was laughing, the next I was swooning, then gasping, and then I was crying. The way the main characters’ feelings for each other were portrayed was palpable and heart warming. Dante Marian helps run a youth program for LGBTQ kids in San Francisco. He’s also gay and was adopted by the Marian family after being rescued from the abuse at the hands of his fundamentalist family. AJ just moved to San Francisco for a new job. He’s also the man that rescued teenage Dante and brought him to Marian House eight years earlier. When AJ and Dante meet at a gala for Marian House, the chemistry between them is immediate and overwhelming but Dante does not remember AJ and AJ is afraid to tell him the truth. There is a lot of painful past stuff that they both have to unpack on the way to their HEA and this is portrayed beautifully with witty dialogue, characters with depth, and an engaging storyline. This was a swoony, hilarious, fun, sweet, steamy, heart warming story with low angst. I just adore this loving, quirky family.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love the Marian Clan!

Swooooon! Gah! Dante! I love him!

This was the perfect balance of light and dark. I loved the sweetness of it all and i broke my heart at the darkness.

Dante's past broke me. The thought's that kids really go through what he did is soul destroying. The pain of his past at the beginning of the story molded the man he was. Painfully shy and insecure he was such a sweetie but so tormented and gripped by fear. But as the story goes on he finally sheds the past but keeps the best part of it with him. AJ his angel. I loved seeing him grow. It was so heartwarming to read. I was rooting for him from start to finish and boy did he win!

What a guy AJ was. Pretty heroic if you ask me. I only hope that there are people out there doing exactly what he did. Rescue. I loved how he always kept Dante in his mind over the years and when they finally met again you could feel he already loved him. His protective nature warmed me to him so much and so did his strength to hold Dante up when he was needed but also to step back when Dante needed to stand up for himself.

Bit gushy about this one. I kinda feel like i needed a hug after being put through the emotional wringer. I loved it so much.

As required of course the family pops up to help with the emotion. Gotta say i needed Aunt Tilly and Granny to pick me up! One of the best families you'll ever read!

LOVE this series! I can't tell you how fantastic it is enough. The love, the family feel, the stories and triumphs, the laughs and tears and the heartbreak but most of all the overwhelming wins for each of the characters. Ohhh plus lots of hot hot hot sheet burning panty wetting loving scenes are 100% worth the investment!

1.0 out of 5 stars So frustrating!!!!

This book is one of the must frustrating books I ever read! The only character I liked was AJ. Dante just never grows in the story until the freaking end. Literally.

I was really looking forward to this book, since it had such a good base story, but the way you developed the relationship around the roller coaster that was Dante, it really made me want to quite the book.

I have read so many books from Lucy, that I really, REALLY loved, and this one book (plus another one) makes me so sad and sick.

Dante was rescued from an abusive home when he was 15 years old by his guardian angel.

AJ works for a group that rescues kids from potentially dangerous situations. When he meets Dante at a gala, they seem to click right away.

Dante is part of the Marian family. A family that has 9 kids, some biological and some adopted, but all 100% loved.

When Dante discovers the secret that AJ has kept from him, will it mean the end of their relationship or will it make fight harder for what he as found.

Characters from other books are in this story, but you will root for AJ and Dante from their very first meeting!

5.0 out of 5 stars Do yourself a favour and read the Made Marian series
Reviewed in Australia on May 1, 2017
Wow where to start. Lucy Lennox is a genius as far as I'm concerned. This is book 6 in the Made Marian series and I cant say its the best as they are all so very good. I am not an avid 5 star reviewer as I think a book has to have a lot of qualities for me to give it those 5 golden stars. It has to have a brilliant story line, absolutely wonderful main characters and equally awesome supporting characters that you just cant help but love. It also has to be well written and edited ( I loathe spelling mistakes, inconsistencies in the plot etc) and it has to make me want to tell everyone I know to go grab a copy and read it. Delivering Dante does all these things and more so if I could give it 10 stars I would. I am not going to tell you the plot, that is what the blurb is for and I don't do spoilers. I will however quite happily tell you that if you want to read an MM story that will make you feel good, make you shed a tear or too but also give a you lots of laughs, (trust me you will want to adopt Aunt Till, Granny and Irene and the rest of the Marian family just as much as I do), then you need to read this story. Delivering Dante can be read as a standalone but I most vehemently would not recommend it, you just have to trust me that you will love them all, Borrowing Blue, Taming Teddy, Jumping Jude, Grounding Griffin and Moving Maverick ( in order) are the other Marian Men and I know you will be missing out if you don't read these too..
This book is so worth the money ( available in KU also), I actually receive an ARC for these books but I still go ahead and buy them anyway, they are just that good.
ALL of the Made Marian books are now firmly ensconced in my REREAD folder, and that in itself is an achievement as only the best make it to that folder. Well done Lucy, I cant wait to see what you have for us next.
