Destiny (Kaliya Sahni Book 6) Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 1,696 ratings

This fight has always been my destiny.

In a previous life, I had run from it, and that choice was the death of me. That mistake went down in history, becoming a story that haunted my people for centuries.

I won’t run this time. I’ve regrouped, collected my allies, and sheltered my people. Now, I go hunting. I can’t rest until my people are safe. I can’t stop until the ones we lost are avenged.

Standing beside me, always, is Raphael, Warlord of the Cambions. I need his support now more than ever because the weight on my shoulders is heavier than I have ever been forced to carry.

I am Kaliya Sahni, the Demon Serpent and Queen of the Nagas.
It is time for this story to end, one way or another.

K.N. Banet loves to read books that make people cry. She likes to write books that make people cry (and she wants to hear about it). She’s a firm believer that nothing and no one in this world is perfect, and she enjoys exploring those imperfections—trying to make the characters seem real on the page and not just in her head.

She might just be crazy, though. Her characters think so, but this can’t be confirmed.

I have read and reread Kaliya and the Jacky Leon series. K.N. Banet is a great story teller. If you like Ilona Andrews and Patricia Briggs, you’ll enjoy these stories.

I enjoyed how this series played out. I really enjoy this little world of stories from this author. Reason for only 4 stars is because even though I liked the very end with Garuda, I am left wanting the inbetween as Kayla starts to the story her and Raphael's people when arrived back to their dessert. I would have really enjoyed reading if Kayila's people stayed in the dessert or went back to India. How everyone grew together of 2 different types of races. The the inbetween can be or is a adventure of itself in my opinion. I really would have loved to read about the letters from Kayla and the mother of all nagas (I can't remember her name). KayiIa learning who her uncle is from him going to drop off these letters from mother to child per se. Just so much more could be told even at a later date. do hope we hear at some point how Garuda is when he meets the nagas he killed over the years in their lives now that he is freed. That is my opinion though.

I didn't enjoy the internal monologue in this last book. It was over kill in my opinion. Kayla kept the guilt to much that wasn't for her to keep. Turn into a poor me scenario story. She knew to that guilt wasn't really hers to have but at the same time that was what decided to use on herself. There was a lot of I did a lot and hurt a lot of people through her life, actually to much in my opinion to have in a book. The parts that have other characters interacting with each other or with Kayla was good. 4 stars are for the parts of the story I really loved.

I got really emotional in this one. The story was so vibrant and real and raw. This Tribunal universe is so wonderfully interwoven together. I’ve read Jacky, now I’ve read Kaliya, and next I will read Everly I think is her name. Wow. The growth in this book is beyond words and so episodic. I can’t even explain how wonderful and lovely this series is. Please never stop writing more characters that share this world and give us glimpses of characters we’ve come to love. I beg of you. Just, speechless. That ending. My heart. Beautiful story. Epic series.

What can I say, well other than Banet is a gifted and talented weaver of worlds. Kaliya's final book was a perfect balance of everything you love and hate when a series ends, and while I know she won't be the main focus anymore, I look forward to seeing snippets of her future in future books. I would also love a Roshni centered novella just a way to see this world through her young eyes and unique experience.

Well done, and worth the read!

This was such a beautiful series , I will truly miss the characters! I really hope you come back to this one and write more for us readers to enjoy

Love the story, love the characters. Took me a bit to get through the first half, though because over and over and over again we have to hear how the main character doubts herself and had a bad life. If the author told this same story once, half the book would have been gone. In any event, nice ending. Love the epilogue. Some minor inconsistencies....eg: if scarring skin is healed by the witches, why can't they heal internal scarring?

Overall it is a solid read. I liked the development in Kaliya, that she was able to grow and handle her feelings.
But I am not really sure how I feel about the ending. Maybe I will give myself a few days...

I love it, nit every secret is revealed, yet even those decisions make sense. I love how you closed the cycle and how things unfolded. I hope it helps good people who made mistakes and lost their way think about it. I like how you didn't lessen the choices taken but soften some hard truth with understanding instead of harsh judgment

Although each novel can be read independently, I recommend starting the series from book one. The author and her background staff have produced an excellent series and storyline and you will not be disappointed. Have faith and you will be highly rewarded. My sincere thanks to all involved.

I wanted to put The End, in the heading, but I couldn’t. I will be reading more snippets of her in other series.
I got this book the day it came out, but couldn’t make myself read it until now.
Yeah, I knew it would wreck me and needed to be in the right head space.
So, Wow! I’m writing this as I shed tears of Kaliya,… and her stories.
Can I just say to K.N Banet, bravo and well done.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Representation ❤️
Reviewed in India on May 22, 2022
Every book I've read by KN Banet has been good. However this book, and this series, have especially spoken to me. As an Indian, as a Hindu, i read this and I finally knew just how much representation does matter.

I read UF almost exclusively, and, while Hindu mythology does show up once in a while, never has a book made me feel so strongly.

The mythology is done beautifully. The scene in Vrindavan felt as if it could be true.

The way Kaliya is written, how she has grown, her decisions in this book - that is excellent writing. It leads to a genuinely excellent final book in a series.

But its the little things I will always remember. The scene in Vrindavan. Rahul's feelings on colonists. The bravery and honor of Maurvi. Sohan's version of destiny.
