    This is a great story, it is well written with interesting storylines that captivated my mind from start to end. The characters are complex and well developed. Brianna, a police detective faces workplace challenges, some co-workers are not as accepting of her as others. While working in the station house she handles a walk-in, a girl who states she and her baby is in danger, tells her the father is Drago Acerbi, shows a photo of Drago with another known criminal making some kind of deal. The girl offers no further info but asked about the safe haven law and leaves her baby there. Due to the circumstances of the case Social Service will not take the baby, so Brianna winds up caring for him. When she presents all the information to her supervisor he assigns her to investigate Drago Acerbi, telling her to go undercover and find out what she can on him. This is just the beginning to this action packed story, lots of drama to come, some thrilling suspense, mystery, twists and hot romance. I like how everything is tying together, there is still so much to be uncovered, Bri has her opinion about Drago and I hope she is right. She will need to find out who is behind the allegations made against him and who is dirty in her department. I am looking forward to see what comes next for Brianna, Gabriel and Drago. N.E. Henderson, thank you for this great story, I hope the rest of the series becomes available in Audible soon.

    I listened to the Audible edition, Charley Ongel is a fabulous narrator and voice performer. She brings these characters to life, gives each their own voice and personality. She switches roles flawlessly and keeps the dialogue in a perfect flow. She does a great job projecting the emotions of the characters and the drama of the story into her performance. Charley is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the great listen🎧

    I have had this book for a while and just remembered I had it. Being a detective and going after bad guys is what Brianna Andrews does, but when a baby is dropped in her lap even if the baby is the son of the drug lord she is trying to take down.
    Drago Acerbi and his family have always been known for dealing drugs. He has been trying to change things since he took over. But there are people who want things to go back the way they were.
    When Bri and Drago meet the sparks fly and she can't stay away. The pull they share is too strong.
    Will she find he is hiding things from her so she doesn't learn the truth about the drug dealings? Will she tell him the child is really his? What will happen when others learn she still has the child? Are there bad cops working against her in her department?
    I really liked this story, it is filled with suspense, a hot alpha male, super-strong bad female cop, and a sweet innocent baby that needs their protection. Overall a great story that I need book 2 to see what is happening next.

As Bri begins to investigate she finds that she is becoming increasingly convinced that he is innocent. She is drawn to him and crosses the line and risks her job. Unfortunately as time passes she realizes that she doesn't know who to trust anymore when things happen at work. There are so many twist and turns that will keep you on the edge of your of seat that I didn't see coming. The end of the book holy hell be still my heart I'm dying to know what going to happen next!     I have never read anything written by Nancy, so when I saw this book for free yesterday I one clicked - and boy am I happy I did!

    This book is clearly well written with a great plot, characters and twists and turns I didn’t see coming. Brianna is a detective that works narcotics when a young girl comes into the station to make a statement with regards to Drago Acerbi and then leaves the infant with the police. Brianna likes to do things by the book but keeps feeling that something is amiss and when she starts investigating Acerbi it all goes to hell, because their is such a strong physical attraction between the two of them! Suffice to say the book ends on a cliffhanger of epic proportion and is such a gripping read, I promptly started Dirty War:)

    Little Gabriel just melted me and I so wanted to pick up the sweetie and kiss him. He's adorable.

    But that ending....Oh my..... WTF happened. I seriously cannot wait to dive into the next book. Loved this one.♥️♥️♥️
