Dirty Like Dylan: A Hot Love Triangle Romance (Dirty, Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 5,664 ratings

A hot AF love triangle romance featuring a charming, swoon-worthy hero, his bad boy best friend, and the woman they both want—for very different reasons.

One woman.
Two rock stars.
A threesome that will change everything…

Photographer Amber Malone sucks at love. She’s been dumped, duped and dated more a-holes than any girl should ever have to.

Then she meets rock star Dylan Cope, drummer for the mega-successful rock band Dirty; gorgeous, charming and all-around nice guy.
For once, the stars seem to be aligning in Amber’s favor.

There’s only one problem.

Dylan’s rock star best friend, Ashley Player, is not a nice guy. He’s broken, bitter, protective of Dylan—and wants Amber gone.

It’s almost enough to send her packing.

But when Amber and her camera inadvertently catch Ashley
kissing Dylan, she finds herself sucked head-over-heels into a world of secrets, lust and heartache… and a three-way relationship that will change everything she thought she knew about love.

I wish I could give this book more stars. I’d like to give this series more stars!! I love these characters! Jaine has so carefully crafted them and she knows them so well that throughout each book, they stay true to themselves. It’s amazing! I’m not saying they are predictable. I’m saying Jaine has created such complex characters and done it so well, that we have a pretty good idea of how the ones we’ve already read about in depth ( Jesse, Brody, Seth, Elle, Katie, Jessa, Maggie & Zane are still sort of a mystery???) might react in certain situations. Dylan was new this time. He’s been in the background, laid back, friendly, close to Ash. But of course we get to know him well and I liked what I found out. Yum. Amber was a cool person, very much her own person. She had her set of insecurities like most of us do. I loved how often she kept asking herself how could 2 such hot guys be interested in HER!! No false modesty. A rollercoaster ride of a story. Loved it. Parts made me angry, happy and oh, so sad. The hallmarks of a great book. Thanks once again Jaine.

I liked the expert story telling. Ms. Diamond never fails to impress with her complex characterizations.
Each of her books in the Dirty series have so far been very entertaining. This book, however, was troubling.
I was very much looking forward to reading Dylan's story. A big part of that story is his relationship
with Ashley. Throughout the series, it was emphasized that these two men were best friends. I learned these best friends actually "shared" women in the bedroom. I'm no prude. While surprising, that wasn't what troubled me. The end of their 3-way relationship with Amber could have been told with more
sensitivity toward Ashley. The author would have us believe that Dylan did not know that Ashley was in love with him. While a lot was said about Dylan's good looks and musical talent, he was not portrayed as being clueless. The author chose for Dylan to deeply hurt his very best friend when Ashley was at his most vulnerable. Ashley has been a very sympathetic and charismatic character in the series. It was difficult to read the words that needlessly broke his heart. Ms. Diamond is an extraordinarily talented
writer, without a doubt. Her treatment of deeply sensitive Ashley at this point in time left me puzzled and quite sad.

First off, I loved the touches of humor in this book. Amber seems so out of sorts in the beginning. She made me chuckle quite a few times. She is so likable. You just want her to find her place in the world. Then when things really heat up when she's on the island with both Dylan and Ashley. I was getting excited about where things were headed. Then I had a touch of sadness when the dynamic changed between them. I love the connection that three of them had. It worked well.
I was, however, happy to see that Amber finally found out where she belonged, with people around her that support her. They both finally found someone to make them whole.

Loved the book. Love the series. But kind of not ok about the Ash situation. I know this was Dylans book but i didn’t feel the relationship between Amber and Dylan was a strong as the one Amber had with Ash or the one all 3 shared together. I cant even get behind Amber and Dylan as a strong couple because I just don’t get the deep feelings between them when she shared her innermost stuff with Ash and not with Dylan and all her thoughts about Dylan always seemed to be about his surface physical beauty. Ash had the more defined personality while Dylan was more like background to me. I felt awful for Ash and even though i expect there might be a story for him down the line i feel he was given the short end of the stick from two people who said they cared about him. Even when he left and was clearly hurting Amber doesn’t reach out to him. And Dylan acts like it will just blow over after a bit.

I have a love/hate relationship with this series. The first book was fantastic, the author put her best foot forward and pulled me in. The second book was garbage, Jessa and Brody are only just now getting back in my good graces because I’m a couple books away from them. The third was downright amazing. Seth and Elle were perfection. The 2 novellas were great, too. I was curious about Dylan…and maybe Ash. I read a few reviews but tried to avoid spoilers. There will be spoilers on mine, but I will give fair warning, because who likes a spoil sport?!

Okay, so if you’ve read the previous books, you already know Dylan and Ash share their women in bed together. You have also learned that Ash loves Dylan. Ash is bisexual, Dylan is straight. That being said, I’m a heterosexual woman in a monogamous relationship, and I like to read stories/plots/couples centered around as such. However, I tried to keep an open mind, as this book was marketed as something unexpected and different. But…it wasn’t. Dylan and Ash literally share one woman in their encounters and that’s just how they operate.

I felt like Dylan was a little dense, and totally laissez faire about these situations. The author does well to explain Dylan as a character, but I still felt like he just blocked Ash’s feelings for him because he didn’t want any conflict. I wasn’t even frustrated that Ash kept his feelings on the down low for so long. And Ash is indeed a hot mess, but I know there’s more to his story, but not sure I’ll read it.

    So for the spoilers…

I liked Amber, she was great. Kinda the female version of Ash, which explains why Dylan was drawn to her. And I was soooooooo proud of her for a fleeting moment when she told Dylan off when he propositioned her about he AND Ash wanting to pursue her sexually. Aaaaaaand after she told him off, she abruptly entered this threesome with them. I’m not into that stuff, and maybe the author could have bypassed some of their trysts and got to Dylan and Amber falling for each other quicker. You know from the get-go, Amber is falling for Dylan. I’d say she’s in love with Dylan, but loves Ash.

Ash is in love with Dylan, and I truly feel like he “loves” Amber as a tether to Dylan. Boy is definitely a hot mess. Dylan recognizes midway through the book that he’s falling for Amber, even when Ash calls him out on it a few times. He just doesn’t rock the boat, ever. Like seriously, he just continued on with the threesomes despite him just wanting Amber alone. And then she’d sleep with them separately, which only confused me more. I think Dylan and Amber could have been even better together, if they didn’t spend so much of the book in this thrupple with Ash.

I wouldn’t call this the author’s best one, but if we could get more on Dylan and Amber, that’d be an improvement to this book.

Jude and Roni up next! Although I am super particular about my MC books, so we’ll see…

Just like the recent movie A star is born, these fabulous books take you into the world of rock and roll and enthrall you in the charisma and flaws of the brilliant characters. Set in beautiful Vancouver you get completely drawn into their edgy, gritty and glamourous and sexy world. Dirty play hard and live hard and the sex really delivers. Lives up to all my fantasies but most of all these characters are real human beings who live and learn and care about each other, while fulfilling their ambitions and desires.

Even the spice was kinda too vanilla (come on, guys. It was a threesome with two rockstars. Where 's my DP?).
And the ending was just sad...I hoped for some self discovery, or at least some healing, but was left just underwhelmed.
