This book is hot as hell. I loved every part of the book. Some reviews say it’s drawn out, I feel that’s what made Jesse and Katie so fire! The build up was crazy and the ending melted my heart! I couldn’t put this book down and literally finished it in 3 days. I highly recommend!!!! I want this to be turned into a movie!!!

    Loved Katie and Jesse….so, so hot!!!! I hated how Katie had no belief or worth in herself. Her past really screwed with her self love as well as her art. I’m glad Jesse could give that back to her. I’m also glad Jesse fell head over heels when he said he would not do a girlfriend because he didn’t want to be a heartbreaker! Joke was on him when the storm of Katie quietly came into his world. I want the backstory on Elle, I feel like there is much more to unravel with her! This was a hot read 🌶️

    Okay, great start to what I hope will be an exceptional series of books. I do love a good Rock Star Romance.

    Katie was left at the altar 2 years ago, and she's still trying to figure out how to get her life back. She went to school for art, but she's not finding much energy or inspiration to do it. Her best friend Devi is a talent agent, and one day when Katie is walking her dog towards Devi's office, she finds her in a meeting with a few people. Half an hour later, Katie has an unexpected job as Jesse Mayes' love interest in a music video.

    Jesse felt an immediate attraction to Katie. When the video goes viral, he offers her a job for the next 6 weeks while his band is touring. The job is to play his girlfriend, since the video has been wildly popular and he thinks that playing along with that popularity will help with album sales.

    Katie agrees, somewhat reluctantly, because she is already finding Jesse hard to resist.

    Even while they're trying to resist one another, it's obvious that it won't take long for things to heat up. The only problem is, Katie isn't ready to be in any spotlight, and her feelings for Jesse are getting harder to hide. Jesse has long been the master of hiding his feelings and he's been hiding them so long, he can't find the words when he needs them.

    If you’re a fan of rockstar drama, this book delivers plenty of it. Jesse, a genuinely good guy, has endured significant personal losses that left him guarded and wary of love. Katie, still recovering from being left at the altar two years ago, isn’t any more open to vulnerability. Their shared fear of revealing their true feelings sets the stage for a complicated, slow-burn romance filled with emotional highs and lows.

    The story is relatable, and the premise is engaging, especially in the beginning, which offers a fun and intriguing setup. However, the narrative becomes bogged down with excessive internal monologues about the characters’ feelings—or lack thereof—which slows the pacing and detracts from the central romance. At times, this introspection leads the characters to make decisions that work against their best interests. For instance, Jesse clearly loves Katie but refuses to end the charade of their fake relationship to start a real one. Katie, meanwhile, walks away from Jesse mid-tour after hurtful but false media reports surface about her family, leaving him to complete his concert series alone.

    Some subplots feel unnecessary and out of place. One puzzling example is Katie meeting with Jesse’s ex-girlfriend and bandmate, Elle, as well as his sister, after the media scandal. These scenes don’t add much to the story and detract from the emotional core of the main relationship.

    While the book starts strong, the excessive focus on psychological analysis slows the momentum and distracts from the romance. That said, fans of slow-burn love stories and rockstar drama may find plenty to enjoy, especially if they’re drawn to flawed characters trying to find their way toward love.
