Author GM Scherbert was born on a brisk late April morning. She grew up in a small town in the Midwest but, quickly decided that was not the life for her. She quickly moved away for college and thought better of returning to that small town on a long term basis. City living is the life for her.

Her day job working with people on the Autism spectrum keeps her on the go most of the time. That is when her four small daughters and husband are not pulling her in different direction.

Author GM Scherbert is the kind of gal who is quirky, unique, smutty, hard to hate, harder to love. She has taken her love for telling stories to the next level by putting her hat in the romance writing game. If you are interested in romance with twists and some darker themes Author GM Scherbert will be right up your alley.

    Another Awesome pair of characters! Ember has a some what life as pearl. She start her hard life at sixteen and for 2 1\2 years she lives in hell. When she finally gets out she finds a good man but it doesn't last. Doc has loved her since the day he first saw ember but she disappears when he is in a run. He has never found her in the 5 years she's been gone. Now she's back and with a surprise he never saw coming. He needs answers and he can't wait to get them but will they survive her past again or will she try to run for his protection? Another wonderful book and I still love all of these characters. You can not miss out on this series.

    From reading the very first book in the Devil Iron MC series I have loved Doc. His devotion and loyalty to his MC club and brothers is unshakable. When Doc comes face to face with the only woman he has ever loved Ember you get the true insight into what makes Doc tick. You understand why he is so protective of what he loves. Ember and Doc have loved each other since the first time they laid eyes on each other, so when Ember leaves with out a trace to protect Doc he goes insane with rage and sadness. Doc cannot understand why Ember has left and it slowly destroys him with each passing day. As Doc lives on the rage in himself, he is still sweet and loving to certain ones in his life. When Ember returns the flames of passion and love ignite again as Doc and Ember have to sort out the questions that need to be answered, the wrongs that need to be righted, and revenge taken for them to heal and love each other with a fierceness only Doc know how to do. Each book in this series is intense, hard, loving, violent, and forgiveness all wrapped into one. I cannot wait for the next book to come out as each character flows so smoothly in each story. GM Scherbert is one hell of an author and keeps you on your toes.

    This is book four of the series. This book is about Ember. Ember was just sixteen when she left home. She didnt get along with her new stepmother. She left there and met Sara. After living with her for a while she met Clutch. A MC member. But one that was no good. After a few years of abuse she leaves him and goes back to Sara. Sara brings her to an event at the Devils Iron MC where she meets Vincent aka Doc. The sparks are huge and instant. Until.... Well you have to read it. So good! Love this series. But not for the faint of heart.

If you read Pearl's Journey, which is not necessary to understand what's going on, but it is useful, you know there's history between Doc and Ember. This is a story of pain & loss, fear, and true terror. This amazing author throws all that at us, then shows us hope, trust, loyality, and true love.

    I know it takes an awful lot of hard work and commitment to write a book, and I have the utmost respect for an author, but as a reader / reviewer we have to be honest.

    The storyline for Doc’s Ember had so much potential, and parts of the book are good, such as the retribution scene with Doc and Clutch. Having read the first three books in the series I was aware of who Doc and Ember were, and was really interested to see what had happened in their past for Doc to be so angered by seeing Ember in the Dungeon. The story that we are told is harrowing and the thought of anything like that happening in reality had my head spinning.

    For me the author seemed a little lost with how to tell this story. I wholeheartedly agree, given the nature of the storyline we needed to know what had happened to Doc and Ember, and for that we needed to go back in time, however the way it was written was very mechanical and didn’t flow all that well. The first 30% of the book told the story of their past, but I found it hard to connect with the story or the characters. Some parts of the book were repetitive and others felt rushed, and one of my biggest issues whilst reading was when the characters were talking / interacting. It felt as though you were being told what they said rather than seeing what was happening, if that makes sense, it was a lot of ‘Doc said’ or ‘then she said’. The speech was also very robotic, I much prefer it when you can read it as you’d expect to hear / speak it, so it’s the little things like ‘I’m’ rather than ‘I am’, and when reading an MC book these things really make a difference, it sets the tone and gets the reader in the right mind-set.

    Lastly there were a large amount of grammar and consistency errors, which really should have been picked up by the editing / beta teams at an earlier stage, for me this did detract from the story. On occasions I would read something and then feel as though I had missed something and have to go back and re-read it, and when you are reading a story that focuses a lot on the past it did get rather confusing. I would have much preferred to see this book written in the present with flashbacks to the important parts of this couples past; for me that would have worked better for this type of story.

    All that being said, this author has some great story ideas and I wish her luck with the rest of this series.

This is the Forth book in the Devils Iron series; this book also comes with a warning that it’s not suitable for all readers, as it does contain graphic violence and extreme sexual situations. Dealing with M/F, F/F and F/M/F. This book once again made me cry for happy and sad reasons; I never used to cry so much!! I am going to need lots of wine and sleep once I finish this series.
    Doc’s life changes in one night, the night he walks into the Dungeon to find Ember there with Pearl, he thinks she ran away from him once, and he was so broken that he thought she didn’t care, he has held that fear and it’s turned him into the man he is now. Then he finds out that he has a son he hasn’t known about and that causes him even more pain. He still wants her but is too angry to care.
    Ember had carried Doc in her heart for the years she had been gone, knowing he gave her the most precious gift, a son called Vincent who is a little version of his dad, in looks and personality. When her dad gets sick she comes back to help him and let her son get to know him before he passes, she thinks no one will find out or care. But she was wrong.
    This is the 4th book in the series and GM Scherbert just keeps getting better. I have read the short story in Hot Wicked Romance that follow this book and comes before the next story Sara’s Gun. I am so excited to read the next story as this series just keeps getting better and better. The only problem I am going to face is when it’s over, as I foresee a major book hangover. This series may just break my heart for once and for all, it’s just that good.
