Jaap Boekestein (1968) is an award winning Dutch writer of science fiction, fantasy, horror, thrillers and whatever takes his fancy. Five novels, a few novella's and over three hundred of his stories have been published. His has made his living as a bouncer, working for a detective agency and as editor.
Since 2015 he mostly writes for the English market. His story "Kitty Cross Saves the World" ended up with a honorable mention of the Roswell Award 2017. In 2019 his crime story "Long Overdue" won the second place of the Bill Crider Prize for Short Fiction.
Peter lives with his wife and five children in a small town in Sussex, England. For as long as he can remember it had always been an ambition to complete a novel and, after the success of his debut, The Broken Doll, it has been fantastic to have the opportunity to turn a hobby into a new career. Since the release of The Broken Doll in February 2017, Peter has released the follow-up novel, Shattered Pieces, as well as seven collections of short horror stories, a horror novella, and three children's books. Peter has had work published in numerous anthologies, is the Editor-in-Chief of Indie Writers Review, and is the co-founder of Red Cape Publishing.
I was born in Hull and I've loved books from an early age. I read English at The University of Hull before graduating in Social Sciences with The Open University. I'm really pleased that Hull won the U.K. City of Culture 2017 as I saw what it did for Liverpool.
I never thought I'd write poetry. But I was drawn to a book on Haiku in 2014. I started working with this form towards the end of that year. I had 'Hearts of the matter' commended in a National Magazine. Some of my other poems appear in a 2016 International anthology with all proceeds to Rescue animals.
In 2018, I've contributed to the album 'Safe and warm' by 'Musicians for homeless' with a monologue kindly read by the actor Ian Ralph. Please support those less fortunate.
WINNER: November 2019 - 'The Hermit' - Blue Animal Literature @BlueLiterature .
Poetry can be just as weighty as a novel. It's condensed but not watered down. I'm currently working on fiction projects. Short stories and poems have appeared in The Horror Tree: Trembling With Fear, Penumbric Speculative Fiction Magazine, Aphotic Realm, Rune Bear, Detritus, Fiction Kitchen Berlin, The Cabinet of Heed, Nymphs, Spelk, Eerie River, Dodging The Rain, InkPantry, Red Cape Publishing and more.
I hope you enjoy reading the fictions and poems as much as I did shaping them.

‘Audacious stories marinated in macabre, magic and mayhem.’
From the heart of Scotland, Natasha Sinclair is an independent writer, editor and artist. Working under her brand ‘Clan Witch’ for her creative endeavours and ‘Word Refinery’ for editorial works.
Her writing is often woven with horror, sex and psychological elements. She loves to frolic in the darkness with folklore and the macabre and rich history of her homeland.
Art is unrestrained freedom, as is how storytellers choose to wield the fluid movement and global diversity of language to carve captivating and authentic tales that woe, excite or terrorise an audience. Sinclair passionately embraces that, painting original characters with true form, dialect and depth. The devil is in the details.
Sinclair is the co-conspirator of ‘Brazen Folk Horror’ with her writing partner, Ruthann Jagge. The Brazen Folk Horror duo’s debut collaborative novel, Delevan House released February 1st 2023. Book II in the trilogy is underway. Keep up to date by subscribing to the #BeBrazen newsletter.
Wendy Cheairs lives in the middle of New Mexico. She avoids the melting heat by writing in a wonderfully air-conditioned house with her husband and herd of cats that believe they run the place. Wendy has been writing for several anthologies, short fiction, and breaking out into novels now. She writes under her pen name W.M. Dawson. She often is lurking on social media when pondering too many story arcs.
You can follow her on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/AuthorWendyCheairs/
She occasionally shows up on Twitter at https://twitter.com/Mauvekat
Alanna Robertson-Webb is a rising star among short story writers, and one of the anthologies she is featured in (Monsters, by Black Hare Press) has been nominated for a 2019 Bram Stoker Award. Additionally, the novella she co-wrote (Storming Area 51: Horror at the Gates) reached the #1 spot in Amazon's sci-fi books in October of 2019.
Her stories are often infused with hair-raising horror, and her paranormal tales in particular add just the right amount of darkness to keep her readers intrigued.
For Alanna the spooky side of writing is a riviting journey through the human psyche, so whether you are looking for some of her wholesome horror (Monstronomicon by Haunted House Publishing) or wish to be transported into one of her grimmer worlds (Death and Butterflies by Suicide House Publishing) then grab a book and embark on a thrilling read!

Winters is an avid listener of all things hard-rock and heavy-metal, a compendium of comic-book knowledge, can (and will) do a perplexing array of voice impersonations, and can bend his thumbs further back than any person should have the right/capability of doing. It is all quite odd . . .

- Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2020It's a fun, fun read. All the stories are 100 words, no more, no less. And they are all different. Yes, a few are heavy on the blood... others are deceiving, on purpose...But they never bore you. I was curious to read Mary Kiefel's The Chair, because..I figured it would have to do with royalties. I know, I know..and no, not telling you who is sitting in the chair. You must read the story. And you can thank me later.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2020I really enjoyed the Drabbles of this book. Every author did great. Creepy.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 5, 2020Scrabble is an easy read. Short and sweet it is both humorous a bit ghoulish and also somewhat thought provoking.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2021Reading this to learn how to write short stories, I found a lot of these to be really good. Who knew stories of less than 750 words or less (mostly less) could make goosebumps raise the hairs on the back of your neck without warning?
I would have given this four stars had the stories been less uneven. For every really good story, there was one or two which could have been better if the formula had been tossed.
Never having read flash fiction before, I am amazed at how much can be said with so few words.
Try this for a change. It is worth it.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2022I've read many drabbles and think that to be able to tell a cohesive story in a certain amount of words is a challenge. This one I didn't care for so much as quite a few came across as first year English majors, in the second semester. Wading through, for my taste I found five really good stories. Maybe someone else will enjoy this collection, appreciate it better I don't know. Three stars, one bc the other drabble had many more good stories this one fell short and apart. Another star for publisher, final star is far it's content. These are my opinions, you many not agree with me that's fine, let us agree to disagree.
