Dream Home: Dream Series Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

4.4 out of 5 stars 60 ratings

Dr. Sara Alderson thought she was securing her and her family’s future when she moved them to a small town in New York and took a job as Chief of Pediatrics at the local hospital. Unfortunately, things aren’t going quite according to plan. For one thing, she has enemies at work who resent her from the moment she sets foot in the hospital.

For another, she’s visiting the dreams of an old man who’s seeing nightly visions of a storm that will wipe out the entire town. He’s convinced that the visions are true – and as winter closes in, Sara is starting to think he might be right.

Dream Home is the sixth book of the Dream Doctor Mysteries.

Also by J.J. DiBenedetto:

The Dream Doctor Mysteries (all ten books!)

Betty and Howard’s Excellent Adventure (narrated by Doctor Who star Nicola Bryant!)

The Jane Barnaby Adventures (three books so far!)

Finding Dori (part of the Welcome to Romance collection!)

Mr. Smith and the Roach (coming soon!)

The seventh book in the Dream series by J.J. DiBenedetto. More changes in Sara's life. A light and entertaining read.

One of the many strengths of J.J. DiBenedetto’s Dream series is the way the characters (and their children) convincing age and change over the years. Sara starts a new job as this book begins. The family have been uprooted to a small town where they’re branded as strangers and may not be quite welcome. And Sara’s dreams, always a guide to mysteries and relationships in need of help, lead her to know who hates her most, and even to see herself as others see her. The question is, will she get beyond seeing others as they see themselves, and will she do it in time to save her job or her town.

Dream Home is oriented more toward family life than mystery, making it different from the earlier novels, but just as enticing. The West Point cadet is a very cool addition to the “family.” Grace makes a very believable lovesick teen. And the very human lessons are powerfully told. Meanwhile the paranormal warnings grow stronger, and the final chapters include terrifying danger, shocking surprises, and powerful resolution.

I really enjoyed this addition to the series, and am eager to read the next book.

Disclosure: I can’t remember how I got this one, but I’m glad I have the next because I’m seriously hooked.

Another lovely story about Sara and her family. This book, like the others in this series, is not an exciting derring do story line just good old enjoyable reading without erotica and bad language. I've read this series from book 1 and can only say that it's been an enjoyable experience. Again it's a stand alone or part of Sara's "daily diary" .

These Dream Series books just keep getting better and better. The author consistently develops the characters and their lives in a natural progression that allows the reader to relate to the characters and fall in love with them. The tribulations that the family face are realistic and therefore can be understood fairly easily.

This book brought tears to my eyes at one point, and laughter at other points. Although I'll never be a doctor like Sara in this book, I am a mother and I totally relate to all the ups and downs of parenting and family life.

One last point - the way these books are written makes them suitable to be read from younger readers (middle teens). They may not understand all the adult concepts, but there is nothing too graphic that would be unsuitable for a younger reader. Or a more mature reader like me who likes a beautifully developed plot with a few twists and turns and that is not saturated with graphic violence or sex.
