How To EAT LOADS And LOSE WEIGHT: Science Based Weight Loss Advice - the LAST Diet Book You Will Ever Need Kindle Edition
What if the so-called ‘sensible’ everything-in-moderation weight loss advice of the last half century, was all based on an unproven misunderstanding of how the body actually works?
What if fat doesn’t actually make you fat? What if high cholesterol (on its own) isn’t actually anything to be worried about? What if weight control is far easier to achieve than everyone would have you believe? What if it is possible to eat LOADS of proper, tasty, filling meals - real food - and yet somehow, still LOSE WEIGHT? Effortlessly. Without exercise. Without hunger.
Well guess what: It is.
Peter Jones is a fix it man. For the last quarter of a century he’s been paid to figure out why things that should work, don’t, and then put workable solutions in place.
In this, his fifth self-help book, he turns his attention to weight LOSS; uncovering why a traditional, low-fat, calorie counting diet is a painful way to shed those extra pounds and almost always doomed to failure - before revealing what actually works, and why it might simply be a case of working with your body, instead of against it.
Packed with step-by-step, practical advice on how and why the body puts on weight, what to eat and what to avoid, and how to kick start your weight loss, this no-nonsense, easy-to-read book is your first step to reclaiming control over your health.
If you’ve spent a lifetime fighting the flab, if you’ve known the members of your local diet club longer than your own children, if you’re sick to death of low-fat, low-calorie, low-happiness, and low-self-esteem… it’s time to EAT LOADS and LOSE WEIGHT!

About the author

Peter Jones started professional life as a particularly rubbish graphic designer, followed by a stint as a mediocre petrol pump attendant. After that he got embroiled in the murky world of credit card banking. Fun times.
Nowadays, Peter spends his days writing, or talking about writing.
He is the author of five popular self-help books on the subjects of happiness, dating and dieting. If you’re overweight, lonely, or unhappy – he’s your guy.
He’s also written three novels; a Rom-Com (Romantic Comedy), A Crim-Com (Crime Comedy), and a Rom-Com-Ding-Dong (A sort-of Romantic-ish Comedy, with attitude). He’s currently working on his fourth novel, which - if it’s a musical - he’ll no doubt describe as a Rom-Com-Sing-Song. (Spoiler: It isn’t).
Peter doesn’t own a large departmental store and probably isn’t the same guy you’ve seen on the TV show Dragons’ Den.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2020Peter Jones nails it again with a hilarious, relatable guidebook to changing your life through the food you eat. I thoroughly enjoyed the last book I read by this author (How to do everything and be happy), and this book was equally enjoyable. Diet is so hard to change, but Peter offers an approach that is both doable and enjoyable. I followed this diet for 5 months and lost 40 pounds (also exercising). Don’t be scared to change! Your one life is right in front of you, you are in control :) Be happy and buy this book!

- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2020I highly recommend this informative and easy read for those wanting to loose weight and regain their health. I own and have read many low carb & Keto books, this is my latest and favorite so far. Wish I had started with this one but so happy I finally found the ONE. I have enjoyed and learned so much. Great for beginners and those, like me, who are already on the weight loss journey!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2021Just read the book this past week. Loved it. My husband is reading it now. It was enlightening. We both started keto! It was well written for all people to understand how and why this diet works. We have surprisingly been brainwashed to believe that low fat is good for us and prevents heart disease. Everyone needs to read this book! I’m excited to be giving this a try. Wish my husband and I good luck!

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth a punt
As a lifelong fan of carbohydrates and all its forms, I found this book to be a revelation. I had my first low carb/no carb meal in a pub yesterday lunchtime (seafood salad) and hope this is the beginning of my journey, ably supported by everything I have just read

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth reading
Loved this book! It's a quick and easy read that has helped me lose a stone (14 lbs) in two months with very little exercise.
Here's the deal, the title is a little misleading as once you get to reading you'll realize the diet is a pretty common diet that is well known - I won't give away the big reveal, but needless to stay if the book had been named after the diet I would not have touched it with a 10 ft pole.
That being said, the mysterious title enticed me plus I love Peter's writing style, having read one of his other books.
The book contains a lot of science broken down into relatable plain English. By page 20, I was convinced and ready to give his tips ago. And two months later, I am SO glad I did. Just by shifting the way I eat, I have managed to lose weight with little to no effort.
That being said here are a couple of things i wish I knew after I closed the book:
- It really does take commitment and a whole new way of thinking about food. It takes some time to get used to but after a week or two you'll be flying
- Cravings do come (mine hit at the 6 week mark) and if you slip up, just remember to get back on the wagon. Peter addresses this but I just did not think it would have so far into my experience.
- The internet forums and Facebook groups about this style of dieting are CRAZY. Take my advice and stay out of them. You'll soon realize once you put the book down and leave the warm cozy safe womb of a space Peter creates, that most other people on the same diet are manic and a lot more extreme about how they eat. Lots of shaming, thousands of rules, and it can be very easy to feel like you are "doing it wrong". I ended up re-reading the book just to ground myself and remember how simple it can and SHOULD be.
Best of luck on your weight loss journey!

5.0 out of 5 stars Real food, real advice, real results!
It works!
The fact that it's written in a conversational style means that it's more akin to having a chat with a mate down the pub as opposed to being overloaded with scientific jargon as many diet books seem to do these days (don't get me wrong, it's packed full of facts, but the style of writing makes the information really sink in)
What I like most about the book is that the recipes are the sorts of things that you would usually eat without having to spend a fortune on obscure ingredients that can only be found in the poshest of posh aisles in Waitrose. Anyone who can turn on an oven can make this food.
The proof, of course, is in the pudding (every pun fully intended!!!) and I've noticed 3 things in the past 5 weeks:
1. I've lost weight (about 12lbs so far)
2. I've not been hungry
3. I've been able to stick to it (which to be honest, is a miracle in my case)

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent approach to relearning how to eat
I really appreciated all the links to scientific articles at the back. There is SO much written about food now, so having a personal success story welk backed up by science is perfect for me.
