Elemental Love Kindle Edition
With four older brothers between him and the throne, and only four elemental kingdoms, that was all but written in stone. While the thought of a future without a throne might be troubling to three of his brothers, to Alex it was liberating. He had his birds, especially his great barn owl Majesty, and his freedom. If only the girls of the kingdom would stop chasing him, he would be a very happy prince.
Then a new Fire King was coronated. One that sought a prince for a mate.
Vincent, newly crowned King of Fire, had always known that he would one day be obligated to make a royal alliance by marriage. It was the only way to ensure peace between the four kingdoms. When one was a royal heir, love simply didn’t enter into the equation when seeking a mate. If one found love, it was outside the bonds of wedlock.
A match was made, but the journey between Air and Fire was long and treachery abounds.
When an exiled Prince of Water ambushed the prince’s party, everything changed yet again. Young Alex lost everything, including his very identity. Forced to follow the Water Prince’s demands to keep his family safe, when the party reached the Kingdom of Fire, Alex was no more than a lowly bird-boy.
Can Vincent and Alex find each other in time to save the Fire Kingdom and discover the love that is their destiny?
Note: This re-imagining of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale The Goose Girl is an MM Fantasy Romance with a few explicit scenes. This is a shorter novel of roughly 37,000 words.

About the author

Avery J. Moon began life as a straight-laced, extremely shy girl. Well, actually, she began life as a baby and grew into a straight-laced, extremely shy girl.
Things changed a bit when she hit High School, because that's when she discovered the wonderful world of romance novels. From that very first book, she was hooked. Of course she had her favorites-- the ones that made her heart race and brought color to her cheeks.
Who would have ever believed that the shy little girl she once was would grow up to write hot and steamy erotic scenes in her very own romance books?

- Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2017This was a great m/m take on the fairytale story The Goose Girl. Unlike a simple fairytale we get to know our characters much more intimately. Alex was very sweet, loving, and innocent while Vincent was a strong, decisive, masculine type. The POV alternated between the two so that we got to know each. They made a good balance and I really liked the way that they related. The author was perfect in the way they were brought together before Vincent was aware of who Alex really was. I had wondered also how the author was going to be able to explain why Alex followed along with the plan and why the impostor would keep him alive, but that was nicely handled as well. The story was both a romance and suspense and I thought both parts came off well. The display of powers was very cool, including the way that they played into the story. The sex was gentle but passionate--appropriate for innocent virgin Alex. It was sweet how tender Vincent was with him. I was put off at first by the barbarian-like cover but the reality is nothing like that; these are polished medieval type guys. I found this an enjoyable read, perfect for something sweet and angst-free between heavy reads. I will definitely be on the lookout for more from this author.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2017I received an arc from author Avery J. Moon for the possibility of a review. The book cover for Elemental Love lets us know this is an M/M fairy tale, but this story is special. Both protagonists are good, honest men. Alex is more tender and sweet, but stronger Vincent is a perfect match because of his absolute nature. Vincent likes the fact that Alex loves birds. Vincent enjoys hunting with falcons. The men meet by arrangement. Alex is traded off to another kingdom. There will be a kingdom with two kings. Powers of Fire, water, and air play into this romantic suspense plot. Secondary characters incite danger. Obstacles Vincent faces are tempered by Alex, an innocent regular guy he loves. Neither are barbarians in spite of the medieval setting.
Bonus points for author Avery Moon’s solid and descriptive writing. The warm-fuzzies will be slapping you in the face at every turn. Elemental Love is Incredibly low angst, this is a perfect book for anyone who needs an easy, feel-good book to pull them out of a crappy mood. Do you love a happily ever after?
- Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2017I enjoyed the fairytale quality of this book and the use of the elements as the kingdoms. This was a fun story and I'm glad that Alex was a strong person in the face of adversity.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2017In a fairy-tale world with four kingdoms, Earth, Water, Fire and Air, each king wields his own unique elemental powers. When a marriage is arranged between the Fire king and an unknown younger prince of Air, a banished prince of Water makes a bold move to seize his own throne...
The children’s bedtime story feel of the book contrasts curiously with the 18+ MM romance theme. I guess for a king it must be nice not to have to worry about the line of succession. Not so sure about the fated to be mated thing though, which kind of nullifies his freedom of choice.
Elemental Love is a short, light read with few unpleasant surprises. The characters are a bit flat though. Damsel in distress air-prince Alex is a bit airy-fairy blow-over, and Fire-king Vincent lacks spark, the inner fire one would have expected with his title. Apart from fiddling with light, they kind of go with the flow as the world resolves itself around them.
The fairy tales we all love are really quite dark in their original versions. Perhaps this too could have used a bit less tenderness and more temperament, some more earth and grit.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2017I enjoyed this novel, especially as I took a risk on an author I'd not heard of and didn't see any reviews to help determine if this would be worth the investment. I'm glad I took a leap. Excellent story, interesting world and plot, and a fun romance. I couldn't help but wish it was longer and fleshed out more as there was a lot of potential for greatness, at least I thought so. Still I enjoyed it for the quick fun read that it was.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2018Story was straightforward but I enjoyed reading it.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2017This book is a cute and enjoyable read. It’s hard not to like Alex and Vincent right away. Both are really sweet characters, and it’s easy to be rooting for them to be happy together from the very beginning. I was rather distraught when Alex ran into trouble, and then quite relieved when he and Vincent managed to get together despite the obstacles anyway. The sex scenes are the right mixture of steamy and plot-building. None of the sex scenes feel like they were thrown in there just to have a sex scene, but instead do a wonderful job of building character and moving the plot forward.
The one thing I would criticize is the ending. For one, I was a little confused on the detail of whether the water king was William’s father or brother. He was referred to both ways in the story at one point or another. Perhaps William just wasn’t aware that his father had passed the throne on?
The ending was also not as intense as I would normally prefer. The war wasn’t much of a war at all, more of a temper tantrum on the villain’s part. And because of the bonding rules of this world, I wasn’t particularly worried about whether or not Alex and Vincent would end up together or not. Those elements combined made the final battle not have very many stakes to it.
However, the pacing of this book is excellent. It’s just the right speed to keep the reader turning pages, and I never felt like scenes were dragging on or unnecessary. The prose is also well written and edited to a professional standard.
Overall, this book is a fun read if you’re just looking to spend an afternoon with a couple sweet characters who also happen to be really hot together. Well worth the time and money. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
