E. J Bennett is the author of the YA/Fantasy novel, “Secrets of the mind” and also the children's book author of “My little brother”, which features her own children.

E.J Bennett is a stay at home mom of two young children, a girl age 5 and a boy age 2. Due to her little boy been born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate, E. J Bennett found that she has no time for a full time job.

She wanted to do more with her life than be a stay at home parent. She wrote her first children's book “My little brother” to help other children, as well as families who are expecting or have a baby born with a cleft lip. Although cleft lip and palate defects are one of the most common birth defects she felt there was not much information out there, especially for young children like her daughter, who did not fully understand why her baby brother had a poorly mouth.

E.J Bennett then went on to write her first YA/Fantasy novel, “Secrets of the mind”

E.J Bennett lives in an old mining village in South Yorkshire, England, and loves to spend time at the holiday resort Skegness.

She loves to write and is looking forward to realising Book 2 in her “Secrets” series, hopefully in the next six to eight months.

Come in. Close the door. Sit down over here, by the fire. Don't worry about the rest of the room being dark, the fire is enough to see by. See the flames flicker, see how they dance, how they make the shadows in the room leap? Now, let's talk about ghost stories.

To this day, my favourite horror movie is the old Robert Wise classic The Haunting. Not the remake, I hasten to add, but the old black and white film from 1963. It's a haunted house story that boxes you in with its characters, not just in the house itself, but in their imagination. And the imagination can be a terrifying thing.

Find Me does the same thing. Mia is returning to her grandmother's old house, a house that has secrets, of her own past and... perhaps something more, something more sinister. Alongside old childhood friend Adrian, they uncover the secrets within, even as they are afraid to go further.

EJ Bennett does a good job of building the suspense in this short story - and it has that feel of classic old school horror. Fans of such horror classics - or modern-day returns to such tales as The Woman In Black - are heartily encouraged to dabble.

Find Me is a short story (33 pages) that pulls you in from the beginning and you don’t want to put it down! It took me just over an hour to read it. This story is available today and comes out at the perfect time since Halloween is just a few days away! The house is truly creepy and I didn’t know what was going to happen. There is a conclusion to Find Me, but I wanted more! Whether extending it or more of Mia’s back-story.

It is recommended. If you like ghost stories, or something to spook you that is not long, definitely check it out.

Find Me, is a short ghostly story that will leave you looking behind you every time you walk by an old house vacant. The way the writer writes this short story has me questioning the imaginations of the mind. I look forward to the complete story.

Fast paced and enjoyable that any Poe fan would like. Our protagonist, Mia, is spooked while cleaning out her deceased grandmother's home a year after the death. When objects start to violently fly around, she flees to the surrounding forest where she's seen by an old, and handsome neighbor. Together they return to the house where the violence energy continues until they trace a memory Mia has from her childhood. The thread they follow leads to a violent secret. The story is a quick easy enjoyable read.

Find me is a short horror story set in the chilling vein of the classic haunted house. After getting into trouble, Mia finds herself back home in her deceased grandmother’s home—a home for Mia that haunts her with troubled memories of her childhood and her perhaps not-quite-so-imaginary-friend, Mary.
Unfortunately for Mia, being in the home again after all these years away, as the house sits empty and haunted, does not go well for her, or her childhood friend Adrian. Together, they must face down their fears and solve the mystery of the haunted house, or become part of the tragedy themselves.
It’s a chilling tale, though one admittedly I had a slight disconnect with. The story seems distanced from the reader, as if it were a tinny tv on in the other room, rather than a full-blown Imax 3D experience. It’s a stylistic choice that didn’t work for me, but if it works for you, then I hope you’d throw in an extra star, because the author has a way with building suspense and intrigue. I look forward to reading her other works. 4 Stars.

What a cracking little short story! You would have to be made of granite not to be spooked by this ghost story. The author has chosen a wonderful setting for a ghost story - an old house, and the descriptive writing brilliantly builds the suspense. It is a short story so at the end you will have enjoyed the read but be left wanting more. Time to check out this author's other books. Strongly recommended!

Good story, but I wish there was more. The author did a fantastic job with her ability to describe the horrors that the characters were going through, however I thought there could have been more to the story. The story just seemed to cut off without much closure. I would recommended this to anyone who is looking for a lightning fast read, with memorable characters, and an interesting plot.

I found this book to be a good read, had me pulled in from the very beginning. The short story is well written and flowed nicely. Though I could have went without knowing why Mia was kicked out of college. Or the fact Adrian had a smile that could make most women melt, after the fact Mia had been running through the woods scared. To me, those two things were a little pointless. But that's just my opinion. All in all, I would still suggest fans of horror shorts, give "Find Me" a chance, you might be pleasantly surprised.

This story is creepy right from the start. As you continue to move on, things get even more intense! The ending was absolutely unexpected and gave me the chills. It was worse than the house itself!

Recommended for anyone looking to have a short read on Halloween night!

Find Me, is a short ghost story set in an abandoned house. Mia returns to the house where all the secrets from her childhood are revealed. A suppressed memory opens the flood gates to a missing child and a house of horrors.

I read Find Me inside an hour. A great story that was certainly scary. It contains all the elements to raise gooseflesh, and hair on the back of one’s neck. My feeling is that so much more could have been made of this story had the author stretched it out just a little more – I was disappointed that it finished so quickly. A good read nevertheless.
