"This is a wonderful book to introduce Duties of Firefighters to children. I'm Canadian and we have heard a lot in the news about the recent fire in Fort McMurray and the bravery of the fire fighters. This is a straight forward and beautifully illustrated book and a good way to introduce fire safety to children."~~J Cook
"FIREHOUSE 3 is a simple little book, with fun, bright illustrations, that will appeal to the many youngsters who love trucks - especially fire trucks! I liked the fact that the author also took the opportunity to introduce a few fire safety tips for little ones - such as STOP, DROP and ROLL if your clothes catch fire, and never to play with matches."~BK Gang

"FIREHOUSE 3: Duties of a Firefighter" is another great children's book by multi-talented Author Joyce Mitchell. I have had the opportunity to read and review several of her books and she never ceases to amaze me with the varied topics that she addresses. I am equally impressed with the learning tools she provides for her young reading audience.
In this book, she elaborates on the many duties and responsibilities that firefighters face on a daily basis. When they aren't putting out fires, Author Joyce Mitchell aptly explains how they keep themselves busy with a wide variety of other challenges. The colorful illustrations by Jay Erandika really add to the enjoyment of this reading pleasure. I know my young grandchildren will definitely enjoy this book!

And here is another wonderful learning book for children by Joyce Mitchell.
It's all about the fire fighters, with their protected gears and their great fire engine. And climbing the ladder to rescue people or pets from a burning house. That is their job.
But that is not all, they also fight forest fires or even rescue animals, teaching in schools how to behave at a fire and what to do in case they were stuck in one.
A great book with wonderful colorful drawings. Children will enjoy and follow the advise.

This time she tells young readers all about what firefighters do. For example, they save people. They clean and cook at the fire station. What special safety equipment to they wear? Did you know they fight forest fires? Small children will be sure to love this wonderful story. It's sure to show them why firefighters are truly heroes. I highly recommend this story.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 28, 2016A simple little book, with fun, bright illustrations, that will appeal to the many youngsters who love trucks - especially fire trucks!
Ideal as a simple Beginner Reader book, the book gives brief, easy-to-follow, details of the many varied tasks that firefighters do as part of their daily work. The illustrations bring these facts vividly to life.
I liked the fact that the author also took the opportunity to introduce a few fire safety tips for little ones - such as STOP, DROP and ROLL if your clothes catch fire, and never to play with matches. Adding a cute puppy to the scenes, as the fire house mascot, should also ensure that younger children do not find the idea of any of the details or activities too scary.
This is a book that is educational for little ones, with important messages told in a fun format. It should help to teach young children how valuable our fire fighters are, and how important their duties are in helping to keep us all safe.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2017My kids love everything about Firehouse 3. Great learning book to read to the kids.
