- Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2015There are few things that rule the world and sex is one of them. Why? Because it incites, it intrigues even though some aspects are still considered taboo. One of them is pornography. This is probably my worst fear when it come to raising my children. Pornography creates a fantasy world, it gives you exactly what you are looking for, unfortunately it has no boundaries and it almost always becomes addictive. I have never met anyone with a proclaimed porn addiction but I'm sure anybody suffering from it wouldn't run around telling everyone. I think most of us know someone struggling with this situation even if we are not aware of it. As I was searching for more information on this matter, I came across Damian Caprice's emotional book, Forsake Me Not. I have to admit I wasn't expecting it to be such an intense read and I found myself in tears as I was going deeper into the book. His struggle to overcome this addiction and to keep his family close is a wake up call for anyone who finds himself in this situation. I understood that the side effects of this giant industry reflect on both the addict and the people who care for him. It's safe to say porn addiction is no different than any other dangerous addiction.
The book is well written and easy to read. I specifically enjoyed the dynamics of Damian and Rachel's relationship and how their ups and downs are described. This book is more than just a great story. It is a personal guide on how to overcome this life ruining addiction and I'm sure everyone (both addicts or not) will find this very inspiring.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2015For anyone going through addiction or involved with anyone that is, this true story will certainly provide comfort, hope and healing.
“Forsake Me Not” is a thought provoking read, occupied with ingenious descriptions that moved my heart and soul. The writings within elicited empathy and honesty from a man who struggled with a 45 year addiction. I admire his openness about his experience, which I found to be profound, emotional and inspirational.
Any addiction will affect those that you love and can be frightening territory for all involved. Having read books on addiction in the past, I was taken by surprised and moved that the authors wife had a chance to express and open up about her own struggles of coping with her husband’s addictions which I could highly resonate with and feel comforted by.
Their openness helped me ascertain the true nature of addiction and how it holds an individual captive. I highly recommend this book as it will resonate with many readers who have suffered either end of the coin of addiction and bring them hope and light at the end of the tunnel.
“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

- Reviewed in the United States on June 5, 2015‘Forsake me not,” by Damian Caprice wrote a very interesting book about him coping with an addiction that a lot of people in the word are afraid to speak about because of the judgement from society. It is truly commendable for Damian the author to share his story with us about the journey to recovery. What I like about the book was you can really feel the emotion coming from as you read his book. I also like how honest and the advice
I want to bring out that his story under minds the stereo-types brought by society about the type of people view pornargraphy. I enjoyed reading the book, but one thing I would like point is the lack detail. I wanted know more about the topics he discuss in his book.
I recommend this book to adult audience

Pornography, although its use is virulent, is still very much a taboo subject. When people use porn, in the main, they like to keep it to themselves. That's why, from the outset, I thought the author of this book was very brave in telling his story. Porn often seems like harmless fun but, as the author shows in this touching and brutally honest account of porn addiction, its effects can be devastating; not only on the user of pornography but on their families.
Wonderfully well written, Forsake Me Not is a compelling and at times disturbing read that will make you question the accepted role of pornography in today's society. The book also provides great advice for dealing with porn addiction if you are currently experiencing problems.
All in all, this is a fascinating account of one man's struggle with this all too common addiction, and a great resource for those who are trapped in its grip.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2017I really appreciate how open Damian and Rachel with their experiences. It has helped me to not be jealous of my loved one's use of pornography. Why should I be jealous of something that only brings him dissatisfaction and darkness? It has also given me ideas of what can be done to stop this addiction. Pornography is a real addiction. It affects others so much more than the addict may think. It affects them deeply. It HURTS! But there is always hope and addictions can be tamed.
