Fated: To the Banshee (The North Shore Fae Book 6) Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 151 ratings

As a banshee, I am an omen of death.

When I show up, people cringe. It's the reason why I've never been kissed...never been loved.

My visions of death are showing me an impending war, with the North Shore Fae right smack in the middle of it. But my goal is clear: do my job and guide the dead to the afterlife.

Only problem is, there's an overbearing, extremely stubborn, extremely sexy hell hound that claims I'm his fated mate. With death on the horizon, I don't have time for feelings and, as a banshee, I'm not supposed to fall in love. So why does my body ignite every time Kane is around? Why does it feel like stars are colliding in my chest whenever he touches me?

When the enemy gets here and Kane's life is in jeopardy, I'll have to decide: should I stay out of the fight? Or do I break all the rules to save Kane's soul?

Fans of Kresley Cole and Gena Showalter will love this steamy paranormal romance!

USA Today bestselling author A.S. Green lives in chilly Minnesota and spends the all-too-short summers on Lake Superior, which is the muse for her paranormal and contemporary romances. She writes complex characters, action-packed plots, and snarky in-your-face banter. And, of course, loads of steamy love scenes.

When she's not writing romance, she's probably watching Outlander or pleading (unsuccessfully) with her husband to don the kilt she bought him last summer.

Fae Academy: Fated by A.S. Greene is a very well written fantasy romance and the final book of the Fae Academy Trilogy. Kane and Devan are fated mates, and neither is sure if it’s wanted - they are at their core polar opposites.
As the plot gets going, it becomes clear that fate really did know what it was doing by bringing Kane and Devan together. With so much at stake after discovering the antagonist’s plan, only Kane and Devan (because of who/what they are) can do what needs to be done. It’s exciting and steamy as Kane and Devan grow closer and the pull of the fated bond increases and engages their hearts.
Overall, a really well written and engaging read with characters I truly adore. There’s steam, emotional connection, action and adventure not to mention the heroic, victorious yet humbling, grief-stricken but hopeful ending. Most of all, Kane and Devan have their HEA with the promise of greatness and building family.

I loved the ending of this trilogy! Devan, a banshee, has been alone for centuries. Banshee have no ties, no family, friends or fated mates. Kane, a hellhound, has no clan or family but he has found a family in his friends at the academy. When he meets Devan he knows immediately she is his anamchara, his fated mate. Neither is happy or excited over the idea, but there is a war coming and it will take everyone to come out the other side. I loved how everything was so new to Devan. All types of interaction is foreign to her and Kane is not giving up on their connection. I also loved seeing the MacConall brothers and Eilish and CJ back, too. I do hope there will be more so we can see these characters again. Fantastic!

Great series! I do hope she continues with it because I would love to read on about the other characters and the learn what is still happening with the main characters too!

I think this was my favorite of the trilogy. Kane’s romancing and pursuit of Devan was hilarious because she was a banshee, had never been around others, and didn’t have a clue what he was doing. But other supernaturals at the academy did and were getting a kick out of his trying. But this was a serious book too because the Mistress is ready to take on the council and make the succubi rulers of all fae. And her plan is more devious than they expected. Now the council, faculty of the academy, and students will have to believe Devan’s warnings and work together to take her down.

I absolutely loved this book. The whole series was amazing. The fact that they all came together to face off against the bad guys was great. I'm really glad the crew from the beginning was there as well.

Wow! This story has so much heart! I loved the way you gave closure to our Hellhound. A great series!

Our heroine is used to death, not love, which makes her somewhat unapproachable until a hell hound teaches her differently.

This is book three of the series and the conclusion. It actually works well as a standalone but I would not recommend starting here.

This is a paranormal romance. The story is very well written and easy to read while the plot provides plenty of twists and turns. The characters and setting are both well developed with plenty of unique and interesting details which make it a truly fascinating read. I really enjoyed both our hero and heroine. They had issues (the whole death thing for one), but that just upped the challenge. Overall, I found this to be a fast paced and engaging read that kept me reading right up until the end. I look forward to reading more from this author.

    Highly recommended.

Okay so...I love the refreshing idea of the banshee. I really do. It's why I bought the book. Combined with the hellhounds it just makes for an interesting premise. But then it just falls flat. I really kept reading to see if it would turn around but it doesn't. It's taken me over a week to finish the last 20 pages and I think I'm calling it. The final battle is supposed to be the part where you can't put the book down and seriously, if they all got wiped off the face by a meteor shower I could care less.

    Here are the positives:
-the idea of banshees and hellhounds.
-the combining of Irish lore into a new world.
-Kane really is an interesting character. He could have more depth, but he's seriously the only one I kind of like.

    Negatives:
-Devan is annoying and changes her entire personality the second she decides to do him
-the lore behind banshees makes NO SENSE.
-the whole virginity thing being such a big deal for her was ridiculous. So much build up and the nothing afterwards.
-the fated mate thing was really portrayed at first cool at first. The whole wind thing. That was interesting. Then it became a one sided lust fest that made Devan seem like a frigid hag who then loses all her personality to become a sex toy. I honestly don't know which personality type I like least.
-the depth of the characters is just pitiful, save for Kane. He has a backstory with his clan that...kinda doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but at least it's there. Everyone else has a one sentence back story.
-there are so many times I have to go back a page because I have no idea who is talking. Just pages of bickering with no indication of who's talking. It got old.

Bottom line. I won't buy another book from this series, and I would not recommend this to a friend. I would give the author another chance a couple years in the future if she's still writing because the unique ideas are there. She's just got to work on the actual writing part.

Side note: I got to 93% in this book. They were just about to fight the big bad and I just found I couldn't care less anymore. So I'm not a complete "I read this book entirely" review. I hit my breaking point and decided to look elsewhere.
