First off- Ryan Harmon (cover model) is extremely pretty.

This was one epic tale and I absolutely loved every word. These two authors came up with something and made it amazing. I loved the character growth that Mariana (Blue) and Gabriel made. I am not religious. I have a bible. I pray every day. But I do not attend church. I'm not a huge religious person. But this book touched me. I was simply amazed that someone could quote the Bible and make it work to their advantage. I think the quotes were placed perfectly.

I was saddened when Ozzie (someone who needed a priest) shot the little girl. But I cried 3 times- when Blue hugged her kitten. When Gabriel made his confession. And I cried the hardest when Gabriel left Blue his rosary. I was moved.

I saw war inside of Gabriel. He wanted to be with Blue, but he was torn with being a priest. Blue was looking for acceptance. Just one person to love. And she found it with Gabriel. But Gabriel was torn. He was living with killing his best friend/Blue's father. She just wanted simply...a family. I hated him for giving up on her. But I completely understand.

They went though a ton of searching. A lot of forgiveness. A lot of healing. This book was fantastic. It was an amazing journey. I am simply amazed how I feel right now. But I leave you with my most favorite quote- "When you're going through something hard and wonder where a God is, remember the teacher is always quiet during a test". This quote helped me through unspeakable heartache. But it works for this book too. I am proud to include this in my library.

    It was beautiful.

Beware, this is a taboo story. A conflicting past of both main characters that connects them. Older man/younger woman. A Catholic priest and a hooker (not the punchline of a joke). If this is offensive to you or if you think it might trigger you, do not read it.
But if it is intriguing and are ok with an emotional ride, naughty times in sacred places, then go for it.
Gabriel Thorn: ex-SEAL turned priest changes his life around after years in the teams, tormented by his sins has now devoted his life to help others, the less fortunate and guides them to a better life in God. It is how he meets Blue (Mariana) who wonders the street in order to survive; it's all she knows and the only example she grew up with. She lives for one purpose only. Revenge. To bring justice for the murder of a father she never knew, and justice for the life she was robbed of. But what happens when there's more to the story she's been told? What what happens when forbidden feelings arise for each other, what then? Will Mariana continue her plan to end Father Gabriel, and if she does will it be all worth it? Will Father Gabriel uphold his vows of celibacy or will he give in to the temptation and risk it all?
Overall good and intense story. Well developed characters that leaves us with just a glimpse of hope, but sometimes that's all it takes.

I'm looking at my title for this review and although it may upset the authors it is not meant to. Because the story really is taboo and for many it is disturbing. But the truth be told, Love is love. Yes, bottom line love is love. I read this book in 2 days. I couldn't put it down. As disturbing as it was in my brain Because of the taboo subject of a priest falling in love with a much younger woman than he, my heart told me love is love. I truly believe it, I will always believe it. Age is a number. Your heart always tell us the truth.

This book called me to as soon as I read the blurb. The brooding guilt ridden priest doing his best to atone for his sins. I also love the idea that unbeknownst to him, one of those roosters are coming home to roost.

Young Gabriel Thorne left 10 years ago with his best friend Luke to serve in the navy but he returned with his soul crushed and needed something to live for.
Gabriel found purpose again serving the community as a Catholic priest but he was still plagued with nightmares from his time as a navy seal.

Father Gabriel encounters Blue who is turning tricks and his savior complex takes over. Little does he know that Blue has set it up to cross paths because she came to exact retribution against him. This begins a game of cat and mouse intended to dismantle Father Gabriel’s life and ultimately destroy him.

I have to admit that i didn’t find Blue so clever that a navy seal couldn’t see though her many machinations. I’m also unsure if it was genuine lust and love or was it his desire to rewrite his past and make atonement.
I also didn’t find their chemistry compelling more than a priest reacting to his 10 year of celibacy itch. This story did a lot of telling and not enough showing. I wanted a little more angst and emotional connection, and i wanted more time with Blue and Gabriel trying to figure this thing out.
They could have been developed more and this one could have been much darker as Blue capitulated so easily after Gabriel told her about his crimes. I just wanted a little more of the confessional scene type debauchery.
The ending was really a sweet and heartwarming conclusion to a story full of pain and remorse.

I have been a fan of Alana’s books for YEARS. Babe and Mariana’s story was even more amazing then I expected. Sometimes when authors write together the story falls short, but not in this case. I haven’t read any of Jane’s other books but now I need to check them out too. I cried tears of joy at the end. I am so glad they got their HEA after everything. I highly recommend this book to everyone!!!

I am familiar with Jane Harvey Berrick’s writing. This is a first ( I believe) that is co authored. It was a book I didn’t want to put down. When there is any kind of military aspect to a book, JHB has the dialogue down pat..
Her character s were real, not cardboard cutouts. It was dark in parts, but also funny, and sad, but the ending is real. It worked out in the best possible way. I really enjoyed the book.

Forgive me Father because this is definitely a sin... Loved this taboo read! Wow! Gabriel and Mariana story's is hot, emotional, with quite a lot of lows but a lot of highs too! I was completely invested in these characters, was hoping it would all work out and crying and laughing along with them! I won't say how it played out but I will say that this was written so well, I love anything Jane writes and will definitely read more by Alana now. This corroboration worked so well and such a great story came out of it! 5 HOT stars from me! Highly recommend it!

Where to even begin? This book has it all - the feels, the larger than life characters, the emotional roller coaster complete with gut wrenching, heart ripping scenes that will keep you reading until the last word. They only gave me five stars to rate with, but this book deserves so many more!!!!!

Father Figure is a really great book. I'll be honest I started this book not really knowing what to expect but I'm pleased to say I was hooked from the start. Gabriel and Mariana are both great, strong characters and their relationship is certainly different. I absolutely loved the story and would definitely recommend it.

I love a good forbidden romance but I have to say this is my first involving a Priest.
Father Figure was fantastically written but gut wrenching at times, it had ne from the get go.

When Father Gabriel makes it his mission to help Blue get off the streets he has no idea that he's playing straight into her hands.

Blue holds alot of hate towards Father Gabriel for the death of her dad, but when that hate starts to blur and everything she thought she knew get blown away where will it leave them both, could they really have a future together?

A fabulous read that I cannot recommend highly enough. I have read Jane Harvey-Berrick's work on numerous occasions but I'm new to Alana Albertson. I sincerely hope that these two ladies collaborate again in the near future.
