Fight For It (The Blueridge Junction Boys Book 1) Kindle Edition
Cole moved to Blueridge Junction to escape his past. He planned to make himself a new life, far from home and the betrayal he’d suffered there. He wasn’t going to make the same mistakes again, but he didn’t count on meeting Micah, or the intensity of the feelings the man arouses in him. But Micah is out and Cole… isn’t. And while Micah definitely revs his engines, Cole isn’t going to risk his job or his newly minted future on a relationship that might not work out.
When outside forces bear upon the couple, Cole is faced with a decision. Will he keep his secret and risk losing everything, including the man he loves? Or will he stand with Micah and fight for their future?

About the author

Escape into addictive, sexy, emotional M/M romance.
A.D. Ellis is an Indiana girl, born and raised. She spends much of her time in central Indiana as an instructional coach/teacher in the inner city of Indianapolis, being a mom to two amazing teens, and wondering how she and her husband of over two decades haven't driven each other insane yet. A lot of her time is also devoted to phone call avoidance and her hatred of cooking.
She loves chocolate, hot tea, sweet wine with friends, pizza, and naps along with reading and writing romance. These loves don’t leave much time for housework, much to the chagrin of her husband. Who would pick cleaning the house over a nap or a good book? She uses any extra time to increase her fluency in sarcasm.
A.D. uses she/they pronouns.

- Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2020I am a huge reader of M/M romance and I have read a ton of these books. This book is simply wonderful. The way that the author created the characters and built up their stories was so good. I recieved this book for free in exchange for an honest review, and honestly I can't recommend this book enough. The author did a great job, and I am very eager to read the other two books in this series. I have very high Hope's for them.
Also the narrator who was new to me, was so great. He has such a wonderful voice. He does do different types of voices for the characters and he is able to switch between the characters so easily. Mr. Solon did a wonderful job with this narration. So if M/M books are your jam then this series is a one click buy. Happy reading.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 25, 2018Fight For It is the first book in a new series, The BJ Boys, by the talented A.D. Ellis. The series revolves around six men as they find their HEAs. Book 1 is Micah and Cole's story.
Micah and Cole are a dynamic couple who really complement each other quite well. This line from the book sums up their relationship perfectly: “And we can spend the rest of our lives making each other the best we can be.”
My heart broke for Cole and all he had endured. To see him come through all that and end up being a kind, caring, compassionate man had me rooting for him from the beginning. I was so pleased when Micah got the opportunity to really tell his dad what he thought of him and how he truly felt. Micah and Cole are both upstanding, good men who deserved to be happy.
I loved the way Levi, Cody, Kennedy, and Jay were a big part of this story. They weren't just supporting characters but were important to the plot. The story focused on Micah and Cole while letting us really get to know the other 4 men as well.
I definitely recommend reading Fight For It if you are looking for a story with heart and soul.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 19, 2020Micah lived for the nights he spent with his “no name” hookup. He’d never had these kind of feelings before. He figured if he kept seeing the man he would eventually give in and share his name.
Cole moves to Blueridge Junction to teach and to hide. He’s very deep in the closet and as a teacher he’s already had to leave one job when it was revealed he was gay. Micah has plans that include Cole in his life forever. He just has to ease Cole out into the open.
The BJ boys are entertaining. All the characters in the book are likable (with the exception of Ed). Some drama and homophobia, but this wasn’t a heavy story. I liked the writing and the story.
Cody’s “church” sounds interesting and I’m wondering what Jay’s first tattoo will be.

I enjoyed this. The premise was sound and the characters believable. The town and it's inhabitants are colorful and interesting.
Micah is a strong and lovable character. Cole is a good character also but is sometimes hard to enjoy due to his stubborn ideas about how his life should be lived. I had to keep reminding myself of the backstory.
The antagonist is a horrible, bigoted, old fraud who I really enjoyed hating. It's sad, but I could see people I've met in that character.
The romance was lovely to watch unfold, even with it's inauspicious beginning.
The spicy scenes were...whew... very spicy! I liked seeing things change from sex to lovemaking.
The other two B.J. Boys were intriguing and I look forward to their stories.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2020Great start to the Blueridge Junction series. It drew me in from the very first page and I couldn't put it down. I absolutely loved Micah and Cole and I can't wait to read Levi and Jay's and Cody and Kennedy's books next.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2017I thoroughly enjoy the realistic and community feel of Ellis's work. None of us has, well most of us don't have perfect families, and we struggle with our relationships due to this at times. We struggle with how others view us and worry we'll lose jobs, friends, family if we are real about who we are. Great story, loved that the main characters fought for it and came out with an HEA at the end.

4.0 out of 5 stars Out-for-you in small town, Indiana.
This book is a lot about fighting: fighting the stereotypes and discrimination of being out and proud in a small town, fighting bigots who want to tell you who you can and cannot be… but also fighting for your love and your place in the community and against not only external influences, but also the shadows of your past.
Micah and Cole have a lot to fight for, and the love they share is the fuel that keeps them going, along with the amazing community of friends they are surrounded with!
This book is the first one in the Blueridge Boys series, and I can’t wait to dive into the next one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, Touching Story.
I loved this story! Very angsty, and triggers for some, extreme homophobia, physical violence against gays, and alcohol abuse. Micha and Cole's story is a painful read, Cole is so far in the closet and doesn't want to come out, he has good reasons but it hurts Micha so much. It's a blunt, aggressive, but a gorgeous romance. I've read several of this authors works, always enjoyable, always meaty tales, this one is no exception.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic book can't wait for the next one.
LOVE IT. . Fantastic I loved Micah and Cole and all the others in this book. Micah is one patient man fighting for the man he wants but Cole wants to stay hidden in the closet.. There town is small and some biggitoys still exists which Cole finds when he has to fight for his job. I can't wait to read Levi's or Codys story.
When Sadie invites her brother Cody and best freind Micah and cousin Levi to her Schools open house Micah gets suspicious of her motives. A new teacher was starting there was supposed to be hot..
Mr Coleman Pierce knew Micah as Mike after their hot nameless hook ups from some time ago. Coleman was deep deep in the closet but he'd never forgotten Mike.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good start to a series
Some great characters, good story, plenty of plot, definitely steamy. Some homophobia and almost deadly violence, plus a lot of love. The vote bothered me, hard to believe American education can be run like that with no regards to legislation, so some of the ending felt a bit ‘phoned in’.
