TAKEN TO DIE: A Grace Gabbiano Mystery (Book 5) (Grace Gabbiano Mysteries) Kindle Edition
Something is amiss in the night skies
It started with crop circles in farmers’ fields, and then more crop circles. And after that came the animal mutilations, one a cow, the other a sheep. An unidentified flying object appeared about the same time, shining a bright white beam down from its belly.
What in the galaxy is happening in Coburg?
Grace Gabbiano is determined to find out, but these events aren’t every-day occurrences that can be investigated like a shop-lifting or a barking dog complaint. They require specialized research, and assistance from a UFO specialist, a necropsy specialist, and anyone else with Mr. Spock’s knowledge of space.
The little green men aren’t green, they’re grey
The peeping alien has a big head and big black eyes, but he’s the least of Grace’s worries. For a change, Chief Aidan Cruz is on board with her outlandish theories, but that doesn’t solve the deeper problem they haven’t even recognized yet. The threat to Grace’s life is much more sinister than little green men.

About the author

Ann Simas lives in Oregon, but she is a Colorado girl at heart, having grown up in the Rocky Mountains. She has been an avid reader since childhood and penned her first fiction "book" in high school. She particularly likes to write mystery/suspense/thriller with a love story and paranormal or supernatural elements. She is a three-time RWA Golden Heart Finalist. Simas currently has 42 books in print. All are available in both paperback and in ebook format.
An award-winning watercolorist and a budding photographer, Ann also enjoys needlework and gardening in her spare time. She is her family's "genealogist" and has been blessed with the opportunity to conduct first-hand research in Italy for both her writing and her family tree. The genealogy research from decade's old documents in Italian, she says, has been a supreme but gratifying challenge.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2019The newest book in the Grace Gabbiano series set in Coburg OR does not disappoint. Author Ann Simas continues the stories of Sgt. Grace Gabbiano of the Coburg Police Department, along with her fellow staff members, and Grace's family members. Want to believe in UFO's? Interested in them? An interesting and entertaining read. Can't wait until next year for the next book in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2019My wife said that she "really liked the characters, the writing, and the series. At times it was hard to put it down!"
- Reviewed in the United States on September 8, 2019I loved, loved, loved this book! It took me a month to get started reading this book because I knew I wouldn't want it to end. I love the Grace Gabbiano series so much and can hardly wait for the next installment. Set in the not so fictional town of Coburg, Oregon, it revolves around the latest a exploits of Grace, her boss, Chief of Police, Aiden, her family and the adventures of her family and work. I loved the UFO mystery of this installment and the twists and turns it presented. I highly recommend all books in this series. She has written many other books, most all I have read. All are recommended! As a bonus, I live within 10 miles of Coburg and had the pleasure of meeting Ann at the annual quilt festival in Coburg last summer, where I purchased a signed copy of "Quilted to Die"!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 13, 2022Taken to Die is a well-written story with wonderful characters.
Not my favorite in the series, but still a very good book.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 29, 2020Wow. I can't even say anything about this one for spoilers, but trust me, it'll keep you guessing all through. Another great entry in the life of Grace...
- Reviewed in the United States on October 6, 2019What's not to like? This Grace Gabbiano novel is a humdinger! I loved it! Mysterious lights, UFOs, crop circles and mutilated livestock all add up to an intriguing story, typical of Ann Simas's creations. I'm continually amazed and impressed by the research and documentation in her books. I highly recommend this one and hope you'll read it!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2019Loved “Taken to Die” set in the Little Town of Coburg. I have read all 5 in the series and recommend them highly. They are all fun reads.
