Game Changer: A Wynn Hockey Novel Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 523 ratings

"OMG, I loved this book! This is my favorite Wynn book so far!"

Sometimes not getting what you want is a good thing...

Jackson
I don’t want anything to do with my crazy family’s drama, which I’ve been watching unfold from a distance over the last year, but now my grandfather has Alzheimer’s and I feel I need to at least make a quick visit to see him. My hockey season’s over, all I have to do is get through my teammate Steve’s wedding, and then I’m on a plane to Los Angeles to do my family duty. After that, I’ll head home to Manitoba for some summer R&R at the family lake cottage.

Molly
Nobody’s expecting what happens at my wedding, which becomes pandemonium. I need to get out of there. Fast. Who do I turn to? Jackson Wynn, one my fiancé’s teammates. He’s been a friend to me since I met Steve. For one night, we hide out in his condo, but he’s leaving in the morning for California. I want to go with him.

Jackson
I can’t take Steve’s fiancée with me to California. He’s going to flip shit over this. But the lying cheating bastard kind of deserves it, and I’ve always had a soft spot for Molly. Or maybe not so soft…because she’s not only sweet and kind, she’s hot as hell. This is a bad idea for so many reasons, and I sure as hell don’t need more drama in my life, but I can’t say no to her.

On this nutso trip, neither of us expect Molly to bond with my bonkers family…especially my poor, confused grandpa. And neither of us expect to bond with each other…

Jackson and Molly are two of my favorite people right now...This was spectacularly swoony. ALL OF IT. From their romantic times to their sexy times to their building friendship to just all of it. I smiled a lot while I read this story and I also had a couple tears. It's one of the best *happy sigh* I have experienced in a while!

READ THIS BOOK. READ THIS FAMILY. Seriously.

OMGREADS

OMG, I loved this book! This is my favorite
Wynn book so far, and I've liked all of them. I loved the way that Molly and
Jax's relationship developed and about the growth they experienced throughout
the book when they each take a hard look at themselves. This book has a bit of
humor, some poignant moments, and plenty of romance. Put this one at the top of
your TBR list. - if I could give this more than five stars, I would. The author
is on my must read authors list. ~

Molly is a GAME CHANGER for Jax

Molly is a GAME CHANGER for Jax
Wow, I have to say that was one way to stop a wedding! I have never seen, read, watched, heard of, anything about the way this wedding had ended in such a glorious manor...it was spectacular! Jax is a knight in shining hockey skates when Molly needed him the most. Imagine calling off your wedding and now not having anywhere to go because you have moved all of your stuff into the place you are supposed to be sharing with your husband, only now that isn't going to happen...what do you do? Well luckily for Molly Jax was there to help her even if he did it reluctantly. Jax and Steve are teammates for the Chicago Aces, I loved seeing the old team together for the wedding it was such fun I really missed them since the series ended, but while they are teammates Jax is also friends with Molly, Steve's fiance. I would say that even though there is a brotherhood between teammates there is more of a friendship between Jax and Molly, which is a good thing here. There is a lot going on in this book and I would say one of my favorite parts is the way Molly helps Jax reconnect with his Family, The Wynn's, and guides him with dealing with his grandfathers illness amongst other things. I think he needed someone to show him a different side of things to help him open up to what was happening. This was another great addition to the Wynn Hockey Series, I would totally recommend reading the series in order because of the family drama that is playing out in each of the stories but it can be read as a standalone if you choose to read it that way. Happy Reading!!! **I have voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book for my Blog, Nadine's Obsessed with Books**

*I received an arc from Netgalley and the publisher for an honest review.* Wow, such an amazing book & series!! I love this book, the main characters Jackson “Jax” Wynn & Molly Flynn, & all the secondary characters. Jax attends a team mates wedding when the bride, Molly calls off the wedding once she finds out she’s been cheated on. Jax is also friends with her & ends up taking her with him to CA to see his family so she can escape the public eye. He helps her gain confidence back in herself & she helps him heal the rift he has with his family. The family is still trying to deal with Bob Wynn’s Alzheimer’s which is so sad but it helped bring them all back together, forcing them all to confront their issues. This book is funny, entertaining, heartwarming, heartbreaking & emotional. I can’t stress enough how great this series is, I’m so looking forward to reading the next book!! Thanks again Netgalley for the arc!!

Game Changer is the fifth book in the Wynn Hockey series and this is great addition to the first four books.

Molly Flynn thought that her wedding day was going to be the happiest of her life, not a day that ended in absolute pandemonium. She was set to marry Steve, a hockey player for the Chicago Aces, however instead of saying her vows, she reads texts calling out her cheating fiance.

Jackson "Jax" Wynn, a teammate of Steve's and the trivia partner of Molly, has come to their wedding with plans to head out to California to deal with some family drama the following day. What he wasn't expecting is when he went to check on his friend Molly following the wedding being called off that he'd be letting her stay at his house that night so no one would find her. Least of all, he didn't expect to be talked into her going with him to California.

Needless to say, Jax isn't looking forward having to deal with his family and he tries to warn Molly about all of the different dynamics she's going to encounter while visiting the West Coast. She's all in for the trip and in all honesty she's excited. While these two have only been friends, will spending this time together in Cali and then additional time in Canada lead to more developing? Can they help each other through the things they are each dealing with and help one another heal?

I always enjoy Kelly Jamieson's books. The stories are always solid and these characters feel a bit like family to me these days as I'm so invested in all the goings on with them and I want everything to work out for everyone. What I also enjoy is that if you've read all the books you can't wait to find out what's next for the Wynn family, but if you're new to the series you can read the book without being lost at all. Another really enjoyable addition to the series!

This is the final book in the Wynn Hockey series. It involves Jackson and Molly. She cancels her wedding at the altar and needs to get away from the pandemonium from it. He has to go home to California to deal with his crazy family drama, so Molly invites herself. There are sparks galore but nothing happens. Then when Jackson tells Molly he's going to Canada for the summer she tags along there too. That's where the sparks ignite into so much more.
Well written with an enjoyable storyline. Wonderfully developed characters and interactions with others. Really enjoyed this story.

I have loved The Wynn’s from the very first book in this series and Jackson Wynn’s book is just another story to add to this great series.
Jax Wynn comes from a hockey family, plays for the Chicago Aces and he’s known for never having a relationship with a woman but what he never expects is to become a knight in shining armor to his trivia partner.
Molly Flynn is a schoolteacher, all around great person but when unexpected events happen in her life she turns to the one friend who can help her out.
Jax & Molly are friends, trivia buddies but what you see is that there is always that one person you count on and when they both realize it’s the other it’s fun to watch and see. Watching Jax & Molly grow into more than friends is heartwarming and you can’t help cheer them on hoping that maybe they can find that HEA.

Once you've read a few novels by this author you'll see she likes to alternate chapters from the perspective of the male and female lead characters. So when you pick up Game Changer and in Chapter 1 Jackson is going to attend his teammate's wedding to his friend Molly and then Chapter 2 is from Molly's perspective you know that you are in for an interesting ride!

Jackson Wynn is from a famous hockey family and has distanced himself from them over the years. He finally realizes he can't continue doing that because his grandfather has Alzheimer's.

Molly calls off her wedding in a spectacular fashion, but then needs to escape. What better way than to leave Chicago and fly to California with her good friend Jackson?

This was a fun book and I had a hard time putting it down. I look forward to hearing more about the Wynn family in the future.

The ending was so cute it had me rounding up from 3.5 to 4 stars.

I was confused when the second chapter switched to Molly's perspective, and I was like ohhh, is she the heroine?? 👀 So Molly dumps her fiance at the altar when she discovers he's been cheating on her. She begs their mutual friend & her fiance's team member, Jax, to take her away and they end up going to California together.

I wasn't sure if this was the author's intention, but I got the sense that Molly wasn't the prettiest girl at the beginning of the book. Definitely not ugly, but not a real looker. Jax was the more conventionally attractive one.

I felt like Molly and Jax were a really good fit, and I could see them having fun together. Also, the two made me want to get into trivia! I don't think I know anyone with that hobby.

Jax and Molly are friends that do trivia nights together, he helps her after the wedding is called off and after spending the summer together they fall in love but it takes them both a while to figure it out. Lovely story that helped me power through a night shift hang over . I enjoyed this book but mentioning the name of a convicted child sex offender and one of his songs left a bitter taste in my mouth .

An okay read that had a lot of angst, self doubt and budding romance. A dysfunctional family, secrets and the loss of a family member even though he is still living. An okay read.
