Instead of dying, Adam vows to capture the killer and those that have teamed up with him, but he doesn’t count on rescuing two children in the process.

Can Garnet and Adam join forces to capture the killer and rescue the children in time? Will the children be able to stay with Garnet, or will the grandparents take them from her? Can Adam teach Garnet that even though she thinks she doesn’t need a man, having one isn’t all that bad?

    Garner is a widow taking care of her niece and nephew. Her husband and their parents were killed in the mine explosion. She runs a cafe. One night she is awoken when she sensed someone in her room. She pulled a gun, but he ran away. The next night Adam showed up hungry. He had been beaten and left for dead. She asked if he would help her guard the cafe and apartment upstairs. He agreed. When he told her that he was a bounty hunter after a certain man, she knew her cousin was the man who broke in. Then she need that the grandparents of the children were coming to take custody of the kids, she asked Adam to marry her in name only so she could keep them. He agreed. They survive the grandparents, but then the kids are kidnapped by her cousin. She takes her jewelry to the mine to trade for the kids. You will have to read to find out how everything else happened.
