From the Bestselling Author of Touched - The Caress of Fate

"A really cute, fun read and a great addition to the series." –Siobhan Davis, Bestselling Author of the True Calling series

“This was a fun read. I love that Gemma is so into books, and that she was reading Clockwork Prince!” –Shannon, Goodreads

Peter and Gemma have been friends since childhood. Peter has always been the one Gemma has turned to. It is his shoulder she cries on, and it is he who knows her better than anyone else. And, for as long as he can remember, Peter has seen Gemma as more than just a friend. She is the only girl he has ever loved, the only one he would be willing to sacrifice everything for. But how can he confess his feelings without ruining what they have? Perhaps the right moment is a trip to Split Rock Falls, the spectacular waterfalls not too far from town. There, surrounded by the beauty of unspoiled woods and crystal waters, Peter will finally be able to reveal what is in his heart, and Gemma will understand that the two of them are meant for each other. But Peter does not realize that Gemma’s destiny has already been written…

We meet several characters from

It's hard to rate this because it is so short; I read it in 30 minutes or so, probably less, and I haven't read the first full length book, but I did like this, and I'm looking forward to reading the first full length book, Touched. I'm a little worried because I adored Peter! How he thinks of Gemma is so sweet, and he is a good guy, but I know in Touched Gemma meets some other guy, and I'm sort of sad by it because I feel bad for Peter, but I don't know what is going to happen, so we'll see.

This was a fun read. It's told from Peter's POV; except for a little bit by Gemma, and it's about how he is in love with Gemma, who is his best friend, but doesn't know how to tell her. The story about how he realized he loved Gemma was really sweet. I love that Gemma is so into books, and that she was reading Clockwork Prince! Love that series! And the Hunger Games mention was great! Peter and Gemma go to the beach with some friends, and it's all pretty much fun times, and Peter debating how to tell Gemma he loves her, and their other friends relationships.

I enjoyed the story even without much to go on, and I'm looking forward to reading Touched next!

Very short, but a great read. I read book One (Touched) first, but this was great because it told a detailed back story that was hinted to in the first book. Im still interested to see if there's more detail about this experience later, or if it's left where it is. There is so much more to learn about the Characters were falling in love with. Excited to start Unfaithful next!!!

I'm not exactly the right target reader for this novella. I have never loved teenage stories, not even when I was a teenager. But I must recognise that this is a text with a certain merit. It's well written, it has got a very good prose. The narrated story recalls vividly many more stories concerning young Americans: the less than innocent games, the skirmishes, the best friend fallen for the heroine but irremediably confined to the friend zone, the heroine who isn't interested in love in real life but lives in the books she reads. They are well-known themes to which the author was able to give a personal touch. The fact it causes in me the same sense of annoyance that I usually feel for this kind of stories means that it works and that the fans of this genre will surely love it.
Being myself a fan of mystery and suspense, I surely preferred the final part of this book, with the cliffhanger (one of my favourite narrative tools) which wants to push the reader towards the first book in the saga.

Elisa Amore continues to be amazing even in this prequel of Gemma's. I've read all three books so far and it was cool to read a side story about Gemma before Evan. The first part is written in Peter's eyes, so it was nice to have another point of view about Gemma and his real feelings about her.

Gemma and Peter.....two youngsters who take a trip to the water with friends. He adores her and she doesn't even know. She's too wrapped up in her books to recognize that her best friend has crossed that line. Her mother sees the sign, but not Gemma.

She's lost in thought, preparing to head home when something calls to her and she races across the forest. What does she find?? Only the unexpected. What does it mean?? Who knows.

This is a prequel to her story, so it gives a basic outline of who she is and what she's about. The makings of a character. Read on my friends.

It was a little short for 5 stars, but hey, it looked very promising.
Especially the part with Gemma. How she bounds with nature, I feel it, so I love it.
Gonna start now with book 1, it's a big book LOL (a lot of pages) not used to it. But I'll do my best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet read - good introduction to the series

This was a really short, cute, fun read and a great addition to the series. It follows Gemma and Peter and their friends on a day out. It was full of witty banter and laugh out loud moments. Poor Peter. He has it bad for Gemma but she is completely oblivious. I really felt for the guy. The paranormal revelation at the end was intriguing, and having read Touched, it adds to the mystery of who or what Gemma actually is, or what gifts or powers she has. Definitely worth reading if you have read Touched. Though the author recommended reading this short after Touched, I think it can equally be read beforehand without giving anything away.

It was very well-written and I'm really enjoying this author's writing style.

As an aside, that cover is totally stunning and I have a really bad case of cover-lust!

Brilliant short story I read before going onto Touched. Gives a good insight into the character's personalities and feelings. I can't wait to go on to the next short story, then the first book :)
