Guiding Hands Kindle Edition

3.8 out of 5 stars 11 ratings

Uma and Cam are a happily married couple living in a small but affluent town on the East Coast of North America. To promote her new business, Uma seizes the opportunity to use the local country club and its regular golfing tournaments to raise the venture's profile. She finds a team ringer in Bill, a handsome, successful businessman with important contacts and who plays a great game of golf. In creating her foursome, she also enlists her long-time friend, Laurie, who is unhappily down on her luck.

Laurie's unhappiness, and her bad track record with men, make her behave badly toward Bill, who is confident in matters of business, but not confident around women. At first, Cam is concerned that Bill and Laurie could blow Uma's plan apart. But, when these two personalities collide, it's more than golf balls that get smacked on the course. Laurie needs a firm, guiding hand, and Bill is just the man to provide it.

As he watches Bill and Laurie's relationship blossom, Cam sees the potential to nurture his and Uma's own prickly relationship. Will Uma's experiment in teambuilding backfire, or will the fire lit on the ladies' backsides lead to success in more than just a business sense?

So long as I can remember I've been interested in reading and spanking. I'm showing my age when I say that in those long ago days it was easy to have both interests met in a large number of regular books. Then it stopped being easy because society decided spanking was abusive behavior. Luckily, along came the Internet and things got back to 'normal'. Actually, better than normal because for the first time we were able to see how many other folks felt as we did.

The Internet has many variations on erotic themes. For me, I'm happiest when the focus is on romance and fun, regular women and men doing regular things together, with an ever-so-slightly naughty twist. Spanking makes sense to me because we live in a physical world, a world we experience through scent, sight, hearing, taste, and above all touch. I hope, if you're reading this, you share my feelings in this regard.

This story revolves around four adults, married couple Uma and Cam and his friend Bill and her friend Laurie. Bill and Laurie are like oil and water, both have a major chip on their shoulder and let insults fly. As the four play in tournament golf games, the animosity is so thick you could cut it with a knife. When Laurie strikes Bill in the face, he in turns spanks her bottom, and it becomes a defining factor not only for them but for Cam and Uma. When Uma’s over-competitiveness has her snapping, Cam decides to follow Bill in giving her a spanking. The plot was interesting, the characters are snarky, especially the two women and their insults.

As a spanking romance it was dull. You to have some romantic scene in the book to make it a romance story.

I started this book wondering if I was going to like anyone of the characters in this book. Boy was I wrong! This is a story about 4 people who are so caught up in themselves and their view of every event they really don’t consider how their actions influence the others. I almost stood up and cheered when the men took the step forward to become HOH. Unlike most books it is not an easy journey and all the parties struggled but in the end it worked out wonderfully.

I liked the idea of Cam needing to man up and I felt sorry for Bill and Cam from the beginning, with such witches as partners. I really like the man to be alpha. I am glad to see the men finally helped the women to be nicer, by taking them in hand. They both needed it desperately. In this book we see two couples grow in a D/D relationship, one of which did not start out as D/D.

A short story about 4 difficult people – Uma and Cam, and Laurie and Bill. In the course of some team golf and curling matches, they grate on each other with various comments, and spanking plays an important role in straightening things out and getting relationships on track. There is no sex, but a number of spankings – befitting the title, Guiding Hands.

Golf is a suburban passion and in this story it melds with another passion of the suburbs - naughty behavior. Jamie Phillips' new story concerns a couple whose marriage is in a rut and their two friends, whose lives are also going nowhere, joining together to play in the local golf club's foursome tournament. They win and have a spanking good time, which encourages them to continue. I liked this story for its humor and its characters. I've met these people -- or someone just like them!
