I order books to read while I'm not busy at work. And I had $10. I had just gotten back on X, and actually started posting again seriously about two months ago. I have a business idea I want to pursue, and I want to build a following on X to guide them there. I figure 10k is good number to shoot for. And Saturday morning I had 348, and notice that's not thousand. Less than 400 people, and hopefully half are not bots; I'm working on weeding those out today after i write this, so it's going to be even lower when I'm done. And I am not the slightest bit worried. While for the last two months I was getting max, maybe 7 followers in a day, and the churn was losing like 3 of them, things have already improved. We had the slowest day Saturday, so I was able to dig right in. And I got the horrible feeling like I had maybe been cheated. If you read books on a kindle, you'll see the percentage completed as you go, and as I am breezing through pages, that number is jumping in a way I have experienced too many times before, and I started to feel the heat building. I'm getting mad at this person who put this thing up for sale and took my ten bucks. But then I started paying attention to the guidance, and the rules I was not aware of, that Elon doesn't seem to like to share. And I got some damned good advice, and I don't hate Elon, but these things should be clear to everyone who actually wants to build a following, so I'm a little less happy with him today, but I'm sure we'll both be over it tomorrow. I started implementing those strategies that afternoon. My follower count is at 388, as I type this, at almost 10 am. 348 to 388 in less than 48 hours. That's a triple increase over what I was doing before Saturday. Was the ten bucks worth it? Damned straight. You are going to get different results than me. Those depend on the content you make and how you communicate with people, and no single book is going to help you with any of that. You are solely responsible for your own individual results. This book is almost exclusively about building a decent following in a world where everyone wants shortcuts and to take your money for BS. But, talk is cheap. You want to earn a following full of real people and real relationships and nothing but value. stop letting that ten bucks burn a hole in your pocket. Take a chance.
