About the author

Heidi Vanlandingham writes sweet, action-packed stories that take place in the Wild West, war-torn Europe, and otherworldly magical realms. Her love of history finds its way into each book, and her characters are lovable, strong, and diverse. Heidi’s stories transport the reader to a different place and time for understanding, compassion, and most of all, love.
Growing up in Oklahoma and living one year in Belgium gave Heidi a unique perspective regarding different cultures. She still lives in Oklahoma with her husband. Her oldest son is in the autism spectrum, working hard at living on his own, and her youngest son graduated magna cum laude and is now discovering his own dreams. Heidi’s favorite things in life are laughter, paranormal/fantasy romance books, music, and long road trips.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2021This is a sweet mail order bride story written by Heidi Vanlandingham. The first few intro pages were, to me a little slow, but after that Heidi puts adventure and excitement onto every page. Anthony come to Creed from New York with heavy burdens from childhood and his early years. These memories haunt him. He becomes the guardian of a young sister that her didn’t even know was born and she is a young hellion. At his wits end with his sister and her antics. His best friends, without his knowledge, order a mail order bride to help look after his sister. Rebecca is being forced by her overbearing mother into a terrible, but wealthy man and he attempt to assault her. She accepts the marriage offer from Anthony, but fear forced her to go to Creed with only a telegram announcing her arrival. You will love discovering how they overcome several obstacles and find their happily ever after.

Rebecca leaves home to save herself. She answers a mail order bride ad and, with very short notice, arrives to wed Anthony. They get off to a rocky start but learn to trust and love each other. Can they make it work?
The author does an excellent job with the characters and setting. The reader will be turning the pages to see what happens. I will be looking for more books.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 22, 2017Rebecca leaves home to escape a calculating mother who's looking to climb the social ladder. The man she wants her to marry is abusive and desirable only because he's a relative of Mary Todd Lincoln. Rebecca answers a mail order bride ad and, with very short notice, arrives to wed Anthony. Their life together, with a bit of conflict, starts off with little trust but soon grows into a lasting bond to withstand the test of time. I'm looking forward to more from this author!
