    I bought this book because I thought it would tell the story of the beginnings of the Varik clan and how it developed over the centuries. But there must be other books in the series that fill in the many gaps that this story left wide open. (Such as the illness and death of Julianna. How did Aiden explain his vampirism to his family? How old were the boys when they were turned? Why was Aiden away from his family for so long? What was the deal with Drake and why did Aiden kill him?) Other things that stuck in my craw were the obvious contradictions to other, prevelant folklore regarding vampires. The author mentions her vampires having heartbeats, warm skin, facial stubble, and eating and drinking human food. How can a dead body (vampires are dead - or rather, the undead) have, or do, any of those things? Their bodies cease to produce a heartbeat. Their skin is cold to the touch. They can't grow hair once they're dead. They don't eat food for nourishment. Do vampires poop? How would they digest their food and eliminate it if their bodies are dead. Those functions would cease. IDK. Too many questions that don't have reasonable answers. However, overlooking all of the confusion, I liked the story. The romance was killer! The battle scene was long overdue, but epic! And the love and loyalty of the Varik clan was heartwarming. I still give the book 4 stars.

    When I started this series Aiden was barely a blip on my radar, but as each book passed I fell more in love with the devoted father. This book is the perfect ending to an amazing series. It was amazing to see all the boys in love with their mates, and even more amazing to see Aiden find happiness after Juliana.

    If you are looking for a book to read, I cannot recommend this series enough. There is joy, heartbreak, decades of time spent wandering and pinning. There is love and devotion, martyrs (despite best intentions), and family in the purest sense of the word.

    I do like to have all the books in a series before I begin to read the series. If more are are promised at a future date, and I enjoyed the books I have read, I then begin reading from the beginning again. Now I know that may seem rather strange but I like to reinforce my connection to the characters and the storyline.
    I just downloaded this entire series and once I began reading about these fascinating characters and their stories I couldn't stop reading until I finished the last book. The entire series is just that good!

    I am so glad the author decided to share Aiden’s story to close out this series. I truly enjoyed each book in this series immensely but somehow also loved each one a bit more than the one before. I loved getting a little insight into Aiden’s history and he deserved an HEA along with his sons.

    Healing Aiden is the perfect way to close out the Varik clan's stories. Aiden has been the strength behind his sons all the way through the Lords of Discord series and it's finally his turn to get the HEA that has been a loooong time coming.

    Aiden and Ronan are absolutely perfect for each other. Ronan is every bit the protector that Aiden is, he loves with his whole heart and is somehow not fazed by the general craziness that seems to happen when the Varik brothers are around each other.

    Against the backdrop of the family's interactions, Ronan working to be accepted by Aiden's sons (and their mates) and the suspense of team Varik dealing with the threat against them, Healing Aiden is an emotional rollercoaster. There were tears, lots of laughs, a fair bit of swooning at the adorable parts and fanning one's face at the steamy bits, as well as unbridled joy at the end.

    I found writing a decent length review about Healing Aiden without spoilers so hard, so I'll just round off with my thought that this might just be my book of the year. 5* perfection!

    Truly this is the perfect end to this series. Aiden was always important and yet in some ways so apart and separate from the rest of the Variks. Here we get to see things through his eyes, learn his past, and really see a future for all the Variks.

    As with any of these books the relationship does not happen in a vacuum. While Aiden is striking up a relationship with a lost love he still has to be King of America as well as leader of the Variks. But most importantly, he is still a father. While his kids are adults, that doesn't change the fact that he is their father, and a new relationship is something that affects them too. This is really explored and beautifully done.

    This book has great way of leaving things open while still closing the story. As long lived vampires there is so much more life ahead for the vampires. We get to see a snap shot of their life in the post war times of the rest of the series. At the same time life is ever changing and while the story is finished you can leave knowing that there is more ahead for these characters, the next stage of their lives. It was an amazing series and this book was a truly beautiful way to end it!

    While it was a short read, it was the most adorable book in the series. I loved finally getting to know more about Aiden and seeing him be willing to do anything for his sons brought me to tears man.
    I'm so happy he got his own hea because MAN HE SO DESERVED IT AFTER READING WHAT HE WENT THROUGH!

    Also seeing his sons be happy from his own perspective was just the sweetest thing?
    Aiden was an amazing character and I am so happy I started this series, I'm just also really sad it ended.
