HEAVEN SENT (Stand-Alone Romantic Thrillers Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 16 ratings

HEAVEN SENT (A Supernatural Thriller with a Love Story)(100,440 words)

The bad-luck threes ...

Sophie Doyle is not having a good day. She’s without a car, because hers was stolen. She’s without a washer and dryer, because hers both tanked on the same day. She’s overslept because of a power outage and when she finally arrives late for work, she’s told her employment is terminated due to budget constraints. Could things get any worse?

Never ask, “What next?”

Hit in the crosswalk by red-light runner, Sophie finds herself dead on the sidewalk, observing a good Samaritan trying to resuscitate her. Suddenly, she’s thrust into a tunnel of incredibly bright light, where she meets…God? Sophie likes it in Heaven where it’s warm and welcoming, but she’s told she can’t stay. Her assignment? Return to the earthly plane to save a man by saving his daughter Bella.

The next thing Sophie knows, she’s watching resuscitation efforts on her poor dead body again when she’s rushed to surgery for treatment of a subdural hematoma. This time, she finds her ethereal self flying through walls to the ER when she’s summoned by a child’s voice calling, Sophie, help me, please! She’s trying to take me to the Dark Place and I don’t want to go.

Life after death ...

Sophie hasn’t been conscious long enough to consider the ramifications of dying or of her assignment, but meeting Bella on the other side...well, that seals the deal for her. She formulates a plan to save the child from the evil that stalks her. The only question is, will she make it back from the Dark Place once she implements it?

Ann Simas lives in Oregon, but she is a Colorado girl at heart, having grown up in the Rocky Mountains. She has been an avid reader since childhood and penned her first fiction "book" in high school. She particularly likes to write mystery/suspense/thriller with a love story and paranormal or supernatural elements. She is a three-time RWA Golden Heart Finalist. Simas currently has 42 books in print. All are available in both paperback and in ebook format.

An award-winning watercolorist and a budding photographer, Ann also enjoys needlework and gardening in her spare time. She is her family's "genealogist" and has been blessed with the opportunity to conduct first-hand research in Italy for both her writing and her family tree. The genealogy research from decade's old documents in Italian, she says, has been a supreme but gratifying challenge.

First, I would like to thank Ann Simas for providing me with this book so I may bring you this review.

Ann Simas knows how to write a story that touches my heart!! One of the best books I have read of 2015! She makes you literally fall in love with the characters when you first meet them. The storyline is was fresh and original and not like most books out there. Heaven sent made you laugh, cry, want scoop Bella in your arms and never let her go, angry for what Bella's mother did to her, felt love in your heart for the relationship between Sophie and Bella.

If this book taught me anything it is that everything happens for a reason. You may not know why at the time-but give it time and you will find out.

I HATED what Bella's mom did to her!! NO Mom should EVER treat their daughter like that! When I read that I wanted to give her a HUGE hug!!! I totally felt bad for her father and what he must be going through.

I loved very special bond that Sophie and Bella shared and how they communicated. That fascinated me how their spirits talked to one another.

I would love to see this book made into a movie. It would be perfect for the holiday season too.

Sophie is having a horrible run of luck, ending in her being hit by a car. She died twice before they had her stable. She comes back with a mission to save a little girl named Bella.

A truly touching and utterly captivating story. A story of faith, love, and pure evil. I devoured every word and loved every minute. The relationships between all the characters was well developed and heart warming. I enjoyed the scepticism and disbelief of some of the characters. It was very true to life. I also enjoyed the moments of blind faith.

A very deep, sometimes dark, enjoyable read. Hope to read many more from this author

Heaven Sent was fantastic! I love Ann Simas' writing style and this book was so much more than I was expecting. This is definitely a must read.

Sophie Doyle is having a really bad day and it just keeps getting worse. When a car runs a red light, she gets hit while crossing the road. Seeing the bright and warm light of heaven she is given the choice of saving a little girl or going to heaven, where her parents are, for eternity. The only choice in her mind is to save the little girl, but she had no clue what all that entails.

I could not put this book down. It was absolutely fantastic, thrilling, fascinating and perfectly written. I loved it and will definitely keep an eye out for more books by this author!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Do you believe in God? You just might after this book.

Things for Sophie have not been going too well. Her car was stolen for starters and her parents have always said that bad things happen in threes.
Sh gets fires from her job unexpectedly, that's two and on her way out of her office building she gets hit by a car! That's three!

Sophie dies once in the street and another time at the hospital. While being between the light and life she gets the message saying she has a mission to do and that in involves saving a girl named Bella and her father Collum.

Do you think everything happens for a reason? You will after this book.

Surrounded by amazing family and friends she and all her family have to find a way to save this poor girl from her mother who has tried to drown her in her car when it went over the edge into the river.

While saving Bella she also saves her father by finding true love.

A great book. I recommend it to all!! :)

Omg wow! If you love a good adventure, romance and a bit of scientific/religious magic involved you have it all here in this book.
Sophia kinda had a great life. But experiencing a out of body death. And being sent back with a mission to complete. Save a little girl and in turn save the father. But the devil has plans of his own and will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Will he get it or will Sophia save the tiny broken family at all costs even at the cost of her life.

Honestly, I  was worried I wouldn't like the book from the synopsis and I worried about it because I've loved every book of Ann's that I've read....I should have known that she was going to blow my mind with the best book of hers yet!  Wow, to not read this book is a disservice to yourself. It was everything you want or need a book to be. I'm now questioning things, my heart raced, my face flushed at times. This book was incredible. Sophie and Bella wow just blew my mind away and all the characters inter connecting was an incredible task to complete, but again I should have known Ann Simas could do that and write an amazing book or more like am adventure. I  think I got the same excitement reading this as the first time I  watched Constantine!

    This book was just amazing!

I  can't recommend it enough, a complete must read!  By the first chapter your caught and every chapter a new connection is revealed, just wow!

    GREAT BOOK!  20 stars good!
