    No matter what kind of story you write, whether cheesy, complex, dramatic, over the top, and so forth, what matters is that you own it, and that's what Her Surrender does. Can April in this story be ungrateful and maybe just a little annoying, most likely yes. Can Vicki be absolutely angelic like, irresistibly YES. And that is what the author does so well here, she owns the character's trajectories and personalities, she owns the conflict, she owns the steamy sex scenes, and she owns the world she has built since the first book in the series. Is this book amazing and mind blowing, no, most likely no, but it is this commitment to tell her own story without inserting obvious and unnecessary actions to make this story more likeable to all readers of this genre. That is why the 5 Star rating, this story is told seamless in a intoxicating way that you will be remembering some of the characters lines for yourself. The inclusion of past characters makes this world even more intriguing and real. April doesn't deserve Vicki, that is an opinion of mine, but that doesn't deter the fact that this story is told extremely well. Victoria Blake absolutely sells this story and like Author, she owns every word on every page with luxurious precision.

    I didn't think I was going to like Vicki because of her appearance in 'Being hers' but she's a great character. So is April. I enjoyed their back and forth, both of them pushing and teasing each other. A really great couple and a great read.
    Also, in these books so far I like how the epilogue is in the perspective of the opposite person than the rest of the book.
