His Saint: A Forever Wilde Novel Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 4,183 ratings

Augie:
I don't need anyone's protection. I'm fine. But to appease my sister after a home invasion, I agree to take self-defense lessons. They just so happen to be with a big, muscled former navy SEAL who may or may not be everything I've always daydreamed about but never thought I could have.

And he's dead-set on looking out for me even when things in my life suddenly get complicated. Between the increasing threats against me and pressure from my wealthy family to be someone I'm not, I'm having a hard time keeping it together. As I begin to fall apart, I lose faith I'll ever meet anyone who'll want a mess like me—much less meet someone strong and capable like Saint Wilde.

The more time I spend with him, however, the more I realize he's not as put together as he seems. And I begin to wonder... while Saint's busy looking after everyone else, who's looking after him?

Saint:
After my big fat mouth gets me in trouble with a high-profile client, my boss takes away the bodyguard gig and sends me back to my hometown to give one of society's elites a few lessons at a local gym. Babysitting an antiques nerd is hardly my idea of a good time, but as soon the attractive, petite man walks into the workout center, I nearly trip over my own feet.

He's effing adorable.

And absolutely scared to death.

He won't tell me what's spooked him, but I won't rest until I find a way to take the fear out of his gorgeous eyes. Even if defending Augie means I have to stop protecting my own heart.

His Saint is the fifth book in the Forever Wilde series but can be read out of order. Beware it includes 90k words of delicious man parts touching, grandfathers meddling, sassy siblings, cats mrrp-ing... and one Stevie.

Amazing Read.
Another great installment in the Forever Wilde Series.I loved this story so much it makes you feel good that this family is always going to be there for you no matter what. Augie returns to live in Hobie in the house he spent most of his summers growing up in which is where he meets Saint. There is an air of mystery to this story and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Mystery and romance, humor and a wonderful opposites-attract vibe. The usual Lucy Lennox snark is found within the covers of this book and all 27 emotions elicited from the reader including admiration, amusement, anger, excitement, sexual desire and plenty of romance. The best part, the most wonderful thing are the hints of what is to come in the next book of this series because for friends of the Marians and Friends of the Wildes, anticipation tastes sweet.

The Saint was an auto-buy, one-click, for me as I have a special fondness for the Marian and Wilde families and their communities created by this author. Who wouldn't? The men and women are all fun, interesting, and each is entirely unique although with, in some cases with family traits even among family members who joined through adoption or assimilation.
Reading Saint is like coming home and reconnecting with very good friends.

August is a perpetually picked on young antique collector who has inherited his aunt's old country house complete with it's hidden passages and Harry Potterish under the stairs hiding space. As a child, following the extremely traumatic death of his father, he was left with his cold, supercilious mother and family members who are business associates with little family emotion or attachment. This opportunity to have his own antique shop and his own home away from the family business looks like salvation until a series of robberies and attempts at intimidation beginning with a home invasion seemingly focused on destruction. Augie's sister decides that he needs a bodyguard. Since he has just somewhat escaped from his mother's domination, he isn't at all in favor of having a bodyguard; someone to watch his every move and invade his privacy.

Saint Wilde is a Navy SEAL no longer on active duty, who works as a bodyguard and just happens to currently be on suspension for once again letting his emotions, his mouth, rule his brain. Sent home for a month, his only employment option during his cooling off period is to train a young man, Augie, who needs private defense lessons. Despite his highly emotional response to the idiocy of his spoiled brat pop star client, Augie has excellent intuition and something is fishy about this man's need for private defense lessons.

They say that opposites attract. It would be difficult to find two men more opposite than August Stiel of the Dallas Stiels and Saint Wilde of the Hobie wild Wildes. Augie is as tightly wrapped as an immature pine cone yet Saint is surprised by his aesthetic appreciation for Augie. Augie reciprocates and can't keep his eyes from Saint with his big body, muscles upon muscles, pretty baby face and a no-filter attitude. To Augie, Saint looked about "eleven feet tall and ripped". Saint has lots of friends and family and Augie is basically on his own. Nearly everyone in Augie's Dallas life has ulterior motives and Saint's family is inclusive and caring. They seem to good to be true.

Little did Augie know how much he would come to depend on Saint's unfamiliar talents and quick responses. All of the attributes that made Saint a great Navy SEAL make him the perfect person for Augie, oh, I mean to protect Augie.

Truth, This author provides a guaranteed escape from reality and travel to a world built with words. I don't even need to read the synopsis to know that the story will make laugh, sad, emotional and set my heart to flutter.

I felt this was not as dramatic as the previous parts, eventhough there's a suspence aspect to the story. I can't decide if that's a good thing or not... I've had to tread carefully reading this series because most days I can't handle much angst in my romances. That said, these books have been great! And now that the story was a little gentler to my drama averse mind, I feel conflicted. But that's just a me thing :)
Enjoyed the characters immensely again, Hobie is such a fun place to visit now that I know a lot of the people!

Oh the swoons from this romance between adorkable Auggie and protective Saint. This love story is filled with all the emotions, the connections and the love - one minute I was snort laughing, the next I was swooning, then gasping, and then I was crying. The way the main characters’ growing feelings for each other were portrayed while they were trying desperately to avoid admitting to the attraction was a masterpiece of writing. Auggie comes from a wealthy family but lives in small town Hobie running an antique shop. Saint is a former SEAL who now works as a personal bodyguard. He grew up in Hobie but is only staying there currently due to a job issue. Auggie and Saint’s journey to their HEA starts with personal defense classes and it’s a bit of a roller coaster ride for them to get there while dealing with painful pasts, a mystery, increasing attacks, and guarded hearts. This was a swoony, hilarious, fun, sweet, steamy, heart warming story with very little angst. The story included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline. I love Hobie and the Wilde family.

This is the fifth Wilde novel and I loved it as much as all previous ones. This book begins with Saint Wilde being pulled off protection detail for a pop princess. Apparently his mouth can get him in trouble. He agrees to teach self-defence to a rich kid, believing he’s moving from one entitled brat to another. Then he meets Augie and discovers he’s the furthest thing from entitled. In fact, Augie has shunned the money and settled in Hobie, Texas. With an inheritance from his aunt, he’s opened an antique shop in town. His family is horrified but he’s happy. Except for the break in at the farm house he’s living in that has left him feeling unsafe. At a weak moment he agreed to his sister’s suggestion he learn to defend himself.

His first meeting with Saint is interesting because Augie believes the other man is “a kitten” and that he’s only taken the job because he’s not capable to guarding anyone for real. Talk about misreading a situation. Saint was a SEAL who loved the military but left so his brother Otto could get out. He’s moved into private security but is still a lethal weapon. For Augie to see him as gentle and kind is perhaps accurate but not what Saint wants to portray.

There is heat between the two men but it’s a slow burn because Augie feels inadequate and Saint believes Augie is straight. And it’s an easy mistake to make – Augie has a beard in Dallas – a woman who is also dating his sister. The woman is an anchor at a news station and would face career suicide if it was known she was gay. Augie fears his family will shun him further if he revealed he was gay so it’s just easier to pretend he’s straight. Once the two men realize that not only is the other one gay but that he’s interested, things move along. Although Saint has hooked up many times, he’s never been with someone so inexperienced as Augie. Someone so vulnerable. After one workout session, he’s in the shower room with Augie. It’s Augie who makes the first move, shampooing Saint’s hair. Talk about sensual.

    “Augie,” I breathed.
“Is this okay? I just couldn’t stand not touching you anymore. I’m sorry.”
I turned around and came face-to-face with him. He looked so vulnerable without his glasses on. And I felt I was seeing a part of him no one else got to see. Wet. Naked. Nothing to hide behind. I slid my arms around his back and splayed my hands along his warm wet skin. “Yes,” I murmured, “it’s okay.”

In fact it’s more than okay. Once the barrier is broken, so to speak, Augie opens up and let’s Saint in. Then a misunderstanding takes place and everything goes back to the beginning. Augie’s self-esteem issues are painful but it explains why he does all the things he does. He’s learned to be protective and defensive. And he’s still a pushover when it comes to his family.

Saint spends a lot of time in this book rescuing Augie but, in the end, it’s Augie who teaches him about love.

There are plenty of cameos by the other Wildes and an entire subplot involving Saint’s twin sister MJ and the owner of a local fitness studio, Neckie. I loved that the women found each other after so many years apart, believing the other didn’t have feelings for her.

Michael Pauley has narrated all of Lucy’s books and he’s great at it. His performance in this book is again perfect – he nails each of the previous characters and is awesome with the new ones as well. I can recommend this book and know you’ll enjoy it.

    A solid 4.5

These books are all stand alone MM reads with different tropes this one is the bodyguard!

I wasn't quite sure if I was going to enjoy this but Saint and Augie won me around with their story.

Definitely worth reading along with the rest of the series. Yes I'm never going to get over Seth and Otto's book and what happened about those letters but it won't stop me finishing these Wilde Books.

Saint is sent back to his hometown of Hobie to teach self-defense lessons to a young rich client after he makes a mistake on a security job and his boss thinks he needs a break.

There he meets Augie a young man who deals with antiques and who s as a secret to hide. Alfie does not feel that he needs the self-defense classes, but will take them as his sister Rory set them up. When he meets Saint, a large ex Navy Seal with what he says is a baby face. He decides to give it a try.

As the lessons progress, Saint discovers just what sort of danger Augie is in and discovers he is just the man for the job.

Characters from other books show up in this one, as Saint is one of ten children. But I didn't feel confused as I hadn't read any of the other books in the series. I am definitely going to go back and read some now as Lucy did an excellent job with this one that I want to read other's international series. I have read her Made Marian books and they are mentioned at the end of this one.

Her writing style flows and each character comes alive and you feel like you are right there with them each step of the way. Looking forward to see what happens next with the unique Wilde family.

Ja dit was een topper. Of ik nog meer uit deze serie ga lezen in maar de vraag. Andere reviews over de serie gaven dit boek als leukste aan.

    Another one to love!

Absolutely fantastic storyline. I love Thriller/Suspense stories and this is one of them!

These two are like chalk and cheese. Big, buff, brave Navy Seal Saint and skinny, nervous, sheltered antique nerd Augie. You would never put them together but they were so well matched when it mattered. Augie drew off Saint's bravery and it made him shine in a way i think even surprised him. Saint was at a point in his life he wanted someone of his own to love him for him. He wanted someone to cherish and keep safe and to also care about him even though he could look after himself. Both were so sweet when they became bumbling idiots around each other it gave me plenty to smile about. Saint wasn't always too clear on what he wanted to say but i loved when Augie was so brave and made him spell it out. I don't think i'm doing this book much justice because it's hard to explain their dynamic. But i just loved em. They're a unique coupling and i thoroughly enjoyed their relationship.

As i said great story and plot. Lots to pull you in. Also its bloody brilliant seeing all the family. I'm really excited for the next book. Doc and Gramps!!!!!!! Plus i know who the special guests/cameo's are!!! What fan of Lucy's would not be excited for this?!?! It's going to be epic!!!
