- Reviewed in the United States on May 26, 2020Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI find the concept of writing a story within a story very interesting. Have the story take place in modern times and not just a few lines about the history, but factually including the history as part of the story, adds much to the experience. I'm looking forward to book three.

The plot was complex with believable characters, and the historical details seem well researched. I enjoyed the time travel to the middle ages.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent sequel
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseA modern mystery with some historical background added to flesh it out. Main characters and secondary characters from the first novel all return with a few new faces for the new mystery, and a longer running story continues to build, which I expect will come to a head soon. Onto book three.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can’t put “Holy Blood” down !
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAn intense blend of present day intrigue driven by intrigue from historical times. Eden Grey leads the reader on a mental exercise of unravelling the murder of the thief of the ‘Holy Blood’. The story behind the relic is as compelling as the mystery she is involved in The reader can look forward to a well written tale , both past and present , one that will keep them fascinated right to the final page!

4.0 out of 5 stars Religious relics, archaeologists, TV presenters and a private investigator all thrown into the mix of "murder most foul". Alluring read.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseGood mystery, keeps you guessing until the end. Love the historical element to the modern plot, it adds an extra dimension to the story. Plus the steadily building tension between Eden and Hammond adds an element of frisson to the tale. Roll on book number three in the series.
