I have no idea how I came across this book. I have a bad habit of downloading samples of books I find interesting and then continuing to search for more. I was going through my samples on my kindle, trying to sort them into categorical lists, when I found the first book of this duet and couldn’t bring myself to tuck it away in a list to eventually find again later. I started book 1 yesterday at the gym and after abandoning all adulting I finished book 2 today.
Dear lord sweet baby Jesus... this series put me through the ringer 😰. The character building was sensational. To the point that I was *highly* invested in the lives of the secondary characters. In fact, I STILL am! I need closure for Riley!! 😫
The banter between Lila and Maddox was.. 🔥🔥

.. it was everything you’d hope to find in your next *really* good romance read.
The prologue sucked me in, only to throw me down a completely different hole when the first chapter rolled around. I got lost in, what I guess was technically considered their past, and lived in the blossoming loyalty and devotion of the relationship they were building.
Less than lovers. More than friends. It’s that connection not everyone finds in a lifetime, when your soul recognizes someone else’s soul.
They held on to that connection with every fiber of their being without tempting fate. Because even though they were clearly fated for one another, having less than all of one another was better than losing all of each other.
Anxiety poured out of me as book 1 came to a close. As good as it had been, I knew things were about to get insanely real and my inner romance addict knew things had to get worse before they got better.
I won’t give details because if anyone ever ruined this story for me I would be deviated..
Just know, this story is about SO much more than romance.. it’s a labyrinth of stories.

Yummy!!! 🔥😋) but there were parts that it was a bit too much for my liking... 😬 Plus, they certainly made quite a few stupid decisions along the way that made me roll my eyes, like I felt in the first book - yet I enjoyed this one much more. 💛 This book was fun, intense, full of dramas and totally filthy!!! 🔥🔥🔥
