Icing: A Seattle Sockeyes Puck Brothers Novel (The Scoring Series Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 591 ratings

This fourth book in "The Scoring Series" features Steele Bailey.
Steele: I'm a second-year hockey player for the Seattle Sockeyes. Imagine my shock when I return from a trip to find my former roommate has transferred his lease to my nemesis. She's so annoying I can't stand to be in the same room with her. She pushes all my buttons and is my exact opposite. Despite it all, I want to rip off her clothes and make mad passionate love to her. What is wrong with me?

Hyacinth: I'm the free-spirited daughter of a radical activist. I've marched in my share of protests, and saving the world is my life's mission, but lately I'm wondering where my life is headed. When I'm offered the chance to share the lease on a fancy condo only two blocks from my bartending job, I jump on it. Like with most things, this one is too good to be true. My roommate is a finicky, annoying AF hot hockey player I've butted heads with in the past who thinks my causes are ridiculous. He pushes all my buttons, and I never expected to fall for him, but I did.

USA Today bestselling author Jami Davenport writes sexy contemporary, new adult, and sports romances, including Gone Missing, Seattle Sockeyes, The Scoring Series, and the Portland Icehawks.

Jami lives on a small farm near Puget Sound with her Army Ranger-turned-plumber husband, a Newfoundland drool monster, and two demanding tabby cats.

Jami worked in IT for years and is also a former high school business teacher but recently achieved a life-long dream of being a full-time author. A horse lover since birth, Jami showed dressage horses for over thirty years. Now she gardens and goes glamping, along with other travelling adventures. She's a lifetime Seahawks and Mariners fan, a proud season ticket holder for the Seattle Kraken, and still misses her SuperSonics. An avid boater, Jami has spent countless hours in the San Juan Islands, a common setting in her books. In her opinion, it's the most beautiful place on earth.

If you are looking for a book where opposites attract then look no further then Icing by Jami Davenport.
Hyacinth “Cin” Meadows is a definitely a free spirit, she is passionate when it comes to her causes, is a bartender and a woman who knows what she wants but when her new roommate is the exact opposite of herself she never knew she can feel such an attraction to someone like him.
Steele Bailey a Hockey Player with the Seattle Sockeyes is a rule follower when it comes to all things in his life, the son of a police officer and a government worker he doesn’t steer off his plans and goals with his life but when Cin is thrown into the mix he never saw her coming.
Watching two people at such different ends of the spectrum come together is fun. Her free spirit ways and his rigid ways will collide at times, but the chemistry between the two is off the charts and you can’t help wonder how this is all going to play out.
As we get to know them you want them to find that common ground and find that HEA that they both truly deserve.

Steele gets two new roommates, Cin and Ziggy. Steele is attracted to Cin and tries to hide it. Cin knows that a couple of guys are having her share an apartment with Steele to drive him nuts. Cin isn't as tidy as Steele and has a dog. These two try to fight their attraction, but finally give in. Steele decides that they will date for a month to get to know each other before anything else can happen. Cin worries about their third roommate, Ziggy, who has secrets. When Cin's environmental groups clash with Steele's job they have to decide how to handle it. For luck Cin and Delaney are in it together. Cin realizes that the way she protested in the past may not be the right way and tries Delaney's way. Cin and Steele get close. It was interesting watching these two realize they have more in common than they thought.

Again Jami killed it. Puck brothers no more. I was excited to see how Steeles book played out. I sure hope there are more books to follow. I love the way Jami writes. Her characters come to life on the pages. Each book the hero and heroine have there own issues and how they solve them and come together make you fall in love with them.

Steele wow what a tight ass in all things, money, time, routines, cleanliness,etc... it takes a strong person to fall for someone like him. But boy is he a looker.

Cin is a mess. No direction in life other than her causes in life and her bartending job and odds and ends of making money.

But their story is a page turner. One you won’t want to put down.

Jami Davenport continues to be one of my favorite authors! Her sports romances are spot on for details and are so well written you easily get lost in them.

Steele comes hone to find a new roommate - Cin. They are total opposites and we know what they say a pure opposites right? And yes there’s lots of attraction heat with these two even though they don’t want to admit it.

While this can be read as a standalone, you don’t want to miss the other books in this series!

While love all the Puck Brothers I’ve been waiting for Steele! He’s very set in what he wants in life and has goals to achieve. Does he need to loosen up a bit sure but Cin was way to the extreme different. I tried to like her I really did. But she’s all free love and sex and judgmental about people who do well. I know it sounds sexist but a woman who just sleeps around to is just skanky 🤷🏻‍♀️ she’s very disrespectful of a condo she snuck into renting. Do Steele likes things clean and organized but she has zero respect for his condo! She’s a slob and it’s rude and childish to treat others places like this. Don’t even get me started on the tree! It’s a tree versus helping thousands get help!
So while I still love Steele I wanted better for him🤷🏻‍♀️

I loved the book except for Ziggy. The book went on & on about him and something going on, but it was never revealed or closed, disappointing.

I loved this story of opposites that are attracted to each other. The sassy smart alec response from Cin had me laughing out loud. Steele fights his attraction with everything he has.

Overall a well told story that enjoyed laughter for me.

Tout comme les autres livres de la série des Sockeyes, Cin et Steele leur histoire est captivante du début jusqu’à la fin. Des opposés qui s’attirent et crée dès flammèche. Excellent

I love this author and this series but I struggled to like either lead. CIN was an unlikeable character from the start and I struggled to warm up to her. Steele seemed a solid character but ended up wimpy and self centred in my eyes. Didn’t understand the placement of a rookie with him to help when he did nothing and I’m still wondering what that was about. Disappointing.
