One night. Nothing held back. And maybe finding everything they need…

Reagan’s only plan, when she came alone to a lesbian bar in the city, was to knock back a few drinks far from her lonely country house. Looking around at the younger regulars, though, maybe it was a mistake to think this was a good place to start fresh.

Then she meets a beautiful woman with stunning brown eyes and the world’s cheesiest pickup lines. Before Reagan knows it, she’s spending one night of passion in a stranger’s bed. Then fleeing back to the country. Alone.

Frankie’s had enough of the city. Even the bar scene has gone stale, eclipsed by the memory of a black-haired, green-eyed woman who lit up her world—and disappeared. Needing a change of scene, Frankie sets out to rent a quaint country cottage.

That’s when she discovers her new landlord is Reagan. But a different Reagan. She’s cautious. Prickly. Afraid. Maybe the smart thing for Frankie to do is head straight back to the city. Or maybe it’s worth the risk to stay—and kiss away the walls Reagan’s built around her heart.

Best-selling author Melissa Tereze brings you a new cosy romance, about finding love when you least expect it, to settle in with this autumn.

… but for maybe not the specific reason mostly everyone else would want a Frankie.

My dog had torn her ACL and I know what it was like going through the whole process and research on surgery vs non surgery (@ManaKeresoma-twitter; @levimoana- Instagram if anyone would like to talk about what worked for me and my process for Meli).
Thankfully I had some help with Meli’s ACL problem, but it was still a lot and it would have been nice to have a “Frankie” type of emotional and caregiving support.

When Meli started limping again, I thought she had injured the other leg (usually possible even if you have surgery just because they compensate with their weight and it puts a lot of stress on the good leg). I rehabbed her like I did the first time (exactly how Frankie and Reagan did), but Meli never got better. And when I brought her in and found out she had bone cancer, I can’t even begin to tell you how much I knew what Reagan was feeling when Frog was diagnosed and had surgery. When Meli passed I fell apart and cried everyday (I NEVER cry) for 6 months straight. Meli was my heart. She was my soul. She was the ONLY other being besides my family who loved me despite all my flaws. And when I had to care for her, I was alone living 2 hours away from my family. It was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do…
Despite all my 10 years of ICU nursing experience. It was during that time, I really wish I had a “Frankie”
In my life so I had one good thing to look forward to instead of constant worry about Meli.

So I know this review is supposed to help you read the book. Just a fair warning, make sure you’re emotionally stable with your fur babies, because even though I didn’t fall apart reading this book. My heart hurt a lot and I almost couldn’t finish it.

If you have read any of my other reviews on Melissa’s books. You already know I admire her grammar because it makes for a fluid story and conveys the right emotional build.

I like that this story focused a lot on the characters development. This was definitely a very slow build compared to some of her other stories. But anything relationship wise is a slow build for me… so I never mind when it takes the characters take a frustrating amount of time to sort their heads out. That’s another aspect I always appreciate about Melissa’s books, never a lack of internal struggle. Because the truth is, that’s life. Constant internal struggle as we develop.

Honestly the only reason this was 4 star was because it was too short (I know, a book that almost brought me to tears and I wanted it to go on longer than 289- eBook pages😂).

This will definitely stay a favorite of mine.

Frankie and Reagan have had some stormy years. People have not been nice and left them both walking wounded. Their first encounter was like nothing either had know. Unfortunately they had given up trusting themselves let alone each other. The angst that occurred as they circled around very strong feelings but completely misreading each other gave me great pain. It was very rewarding to see them let down their walls, especially after best friend Dawn tried to push them apart. The very real need to help Frog the dog brought them even closer together. Frog stole the show often but they shared a beautiful love for him that was sweet. This was a marvelous story of two women unable to to move forward but find strength in a love they always wanted but never seemed within reach. There are lots of little gems in this book. The story is one many can find a part of themselves in either character. Such a strong reminder to never give up.

A lovely love story, protagonist Reagan being insecure while Frankie is all the opposite,. In this story the opposite attracted, a one night stand that became a couple, later a family. Isla and Frog as secondary characters did very well.

This is a well-crafted and extremely well-written story. I was not expecting such a detailed and enjoyable read. The conflict and misunderstandings continue well into the story and I enjoyed that. Real life isn’t always one conflict, one resolution, and one happy ending. These characters fought through a lot to find contentment with each other. At times, I wished for more of that spunk later in the book, but it beautifully coasted into happy plans for the future. If you want a more fleshed out story than just a quick steamy scene, check this one out.

Lovely romance as usual. Got a little dicey in the middle, though. I mean, Frankie and Reagan both had a lot of baggage to sort out on their own. People who were supposed to be close and supportive only ended up adding fuel to the fire, causing more drama than necessary. All by design, I'm sure, because it was all downhill for the couple after that.

Who am I kidding? I credit Frog, the dog, for all the beautiful things that happened to Frankie and Reagan. 🥰

Melissa Tereze is a talented writer. She brings forth emotions and real life details to make her stories plausible. In Her Arms has initial angst between characters but does not follow in the near the end angst one comes to expect with romance. It was a nice change of pace. Greatly appreciated. This is definitely worth taking time to read and meet Frankie and Reagan.

Franky is such a cute character.
I read this book in one afternoon because Reagan and Franky grabbed me from the start!
They both have problems that are really difficult to
    overcome.
The past was hard for both of them and people, whether relationships, marriage or family, were not good to them. That’s makes it more difficult to overcome their own fears and let someone new into their lives. Especially for Reagan. Everything happens more by chance, but when they are together they have amazing chemistry! So hot!
And "Frog" won my heart! As usually with dogs in heartwarming stories.
Melissa Tereze has once again written a wonderful book! Love it!

Beautifully written! I loved this book by Melissa Tereze. The characters as well as the story line are believable, the two main characters have great chemistry and dialogue; which all contributed to the 5 star rating

In Her Arms, tells the story of Frankie and Reagan who met at a lesbian bar. Frankie went out to let her hair down, and never imagined that she would meet someone as beautiful as Reagan. Reagan on the other hand hasn’t been out in years, not since the loss of her father, her marriage, her mother, and her livelihood. A one night stand that neither had ever done before, but one that would change the rest of their life’s.

Moving back home to look after her mother, left unattended property that Reagan had decided to rent. Unbeknown to her the new tenant, was of course Frankie. Their relationship and connection took them on a journey of self-discovery, fears, trust, expectations and most importantly love.

    Definitely a must read!!
