International Relations Kindle Edition
But the arrival of enigmatic and brooding Milo Phillips (Lance’s estranged American cousin) changes everything. A single mother now, Dee must decide the course of her uncertain future. Will she venture deeper into her unpopular friendship with Milo and risk the wrath of the Stark family? And what exactly will an idiosyncratic, quirky girl with no real aspirations or talents (other than a smart-mouth) do with her once-charmed life?
Not a run-of the-mill heroine. Not a stereotypical male protagonist. And the combination is refreshingly different. This modern-day classic is an intelligent and amusing, yet bitter-sweet romantic tale.

About the author

Adele Archer was born in Bethnal Green, East London in the 1970s, the second youngest of six children. Growing up in a council flat in not the most salubrious part of town, she was always a dreamer - and her imagination was the best escape of all. Adele was writing books from the age of eleven - but inventing stories in her head long before that.
Adele spent the majority of her working life as a trained nurse but it was in 2011, after the death of her beloved sister, that she decided it was time that writing novels could no longer just be a secret hobby. Because, in her bitter experience, life was too short for 'if onlys'.
Her first novel, 'International Relations' was released in 2015. Adele writes contemporary women's fiction with an amusing (albeit slightly bitter) take on life and romance. She writes for strong, witty women who want to read about strong, witty women. Oh and men too. And children. And on occasion, goats (strong, witty goats). She also writes an amusing weekly blog, 'Adele Archer Writes'.
Adele now resides in the West Country with her wonderful husband and two amazing daughters. In her spare time, she writes songs and sings, reads voraciously and crams in as many period/costume drama shows as her long-suffering family will allow. She would wear a bustle and a bonnet on a daily basis if she could...

- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2017Adele Archer may be new to the scene. But I promise you, she has everything it takes to be a superstar!
For someone who has never published a novel before, Adele Archer has created a wonderfully dramatic and comedic tale of romantic intrigue that will keep you thoroughly sauced and captivate from start to finish. The characters in this novel are intelligently and richly brought to life. Dee Campbell-Stark is an exquisite, genuine woman who make you feel alive as she fights with unapologetic fervor to establish herself as both an independent force to be reckoned with and a woman brave enough to admit her greatest fears might actually prove her only salvation.
There's never a dull moment. Adele Archer has done more than tossed her hat into the ring of the literary world. She has brilliantly slammed it down and dared anyone to pick it up and throw it back!
If you crave an inventive story of romance, comedy, and intrigue, you need to read this novel now!

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent read
I have to say that I wouldn't normally choose this type of book to read, being traditionally a sci-fi reader. But I found myself to be quickly drawn into the story, the characters are engaging, and before I knew it I'd reached the end of the book and needing to get the next one in the series to see how the story continues to unfold! Well worth a purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful love story
If death can separate couples, it can also be a reason for two people to find love back again. Adele Archer's "International Relations" proved this in her debut novel.
The quirky Dee Campbell and her humor, her attraction with Milo and how they deal with it, Are they just good friends or lovers? Life always have different plans when you least expect it to happen. This novel, makes up to an interesting romance read and you will definitely enjoy it. Turning the last page and finding "the end" was disappointing as I really want to know what happens next. What will be Milo parents reaction? Are they going to get convinced?
Can't wait to start reading "American cousins" as the summary already builds the curiosity and gives a feeling somewhere there enters the missing Secretary. Looking forward to read more of your books Adele Archer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing first novel
This book was incredibly readable and I kept dipping in even when stirring the dinner or running a bath! The characters are the best thing about it. I loved Dee and her friend Bruce and Patrice. It had lots of laughs and basic chick lit elements but also some very painful moments. It examined feelings very deeply. There were moments when Dee and Milo's confused friendship was exasperating but actually, the fact that the characters talk about their feelings alot made me articulate myself abit more in my own relationships! It gave lots of extra depth to a fun modern romance.

4.0 out of 5 stars Chic-alicious
Great characters developed well through the course of this debut Chic-lit novel from Adele Archer. I particularly liked Dee - she felt like a real person with a clever mix of dippy-ness and feistiness. The gay best friends reminded me a little of characters in Bridget Jones, and of course we'd all want to shag the deep, meaningful and misunderstood Milo. Altogether a very enjoyable read. here's to the sequel.

5.0 out of 5 stars The characters developed nicely with those you warmed to (and thankfully
Not normally one for the chic-lit genre, but had a look at after my wife had finished it and I was in need of something to read. I was pleasantly surprised! The characters developed nicely with those you warmed to (and thankfully, those you didn't). Though concluding satisfactorily, I assumed a sequal may be out there. It appears not, but is set up well as such, so hopefully it's in the offing. My investigations did uncover that this is a debut outing by Adele Archer, something the quality of narrative didn't give away. Thank you, Adele, for a few enjoyable hours spent well.
