About the author

Thomas S. Flowers is an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran who loves scary movies, BBQ, and coffee. Ever since reading Remarque’s "All Quiet on the Western Front" and Stephen King’s "Salem’s Lot" he has inspired to write deeply disturbing things that relate to both war and horror, from the paranormal to gory zombie infested worlds, to even dabbling in vampiric historical fiction. Readers can expect to find rich characters, realistic historical settings, and mind-altering horror.
Be sure to check out his PLANET of the DEAD series and The Last Hellfighter, both of which have been best-sellers on Amazon's Top 100 lists for Apocalyptic Fiction and African American Horror respectively.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 22, 2019The first novella that I've read this year has the potential to be the best novella of the year!
Just released yesterday, I read this one last night, and it is a near perfect read! There isn't a slow point in the story. Coming in at just 100 pages, it reads like a movie playing in your head (and you can read it in the amount of time it would take to watch a movie).
The story is totally engaging, as are the characters, and the descriptions are nauseatingly wonderful. I enjoyed this one even more than Flower's Planet of the Dead.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2020This short novel is exactly what you'd suspect --- totally unflinching, blood-soaked zombie mayhem! Add in 1980's tech and fashion, make the setting a tropical island, and you've got a book that could well be a novelization of a lost Fulci film. Thomas S. Flowers' writing is succinct, gruesomely descriptive, and action-oriented. Two relatable main characters with clear, yet separate objectives, and an ultimately cinematic, fast-paced story is what makes "Island of the Flesh Eaters" so much fun.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 22, 2020I like the action. The back story is told so you can understand the characters . Just not over told. Back to action.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2021A great little novella length, zombie horror. A nod to the 80s. This direct to paperback release is an awesome ride full of blood, and that gritty VHS horror we all love. Thomas nailed it with this, and I'm looking forward to jumping into his other works!
- Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2019This was the first book by Thomas Flowers that I ever read and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It is a good zombie story. It reminds me of a movie "Zombies" that I think came out in the 70's which had virtually the same story line. This book is dated back then so it may have been the basis for that movie. I would read any subsequent novels by this author.
