JANE I'm-Still-Single JONES (Love, Laughter, and Shenanigans) Kindle Edition
Enter Morgan Sherwood, the town boy-wonder turned billionaire, arrives with his entourage in a stretch limo, ready to sweep Jane off her feet, but Morgan has more obstacles than he anticipated when Jane's old flame wants to win her back, and a man-hungry former classmate wants to claim him as husband number four. Then there's that Hollywood starlet who shows up to "keep him company."
Throw in the meddling blue-hairs of the Vernon Ladies Bridge Club who delight in playing matchmaker and the small town's gossip mill that's working overtime. Tensions rise and complications continue. Morgan must use all of his high-powered brain and seductive charm to win over the lovely Miss Jones. But will it be enough to overcome a ten-year old betrayal and the obstacles standing in their way?
With plenty of southern charm, humor, and steamy romance, Jane (I'm Still Single) Jones is a heartwarming and heart-throbbing tale that will leave you with a smile. Don't just take our word for it! When it was first published, IndieReader declared Jane (I'm Still Single) Jones as "one of the top five Indie Romance Novels," and readers have compared it to the beloved film, Sweet Home Alabama.

From the Author
Conversations went like this. Mrs. B. called Nanny L. and asked, "Did you see that strange car with the out of state license plate parked at the Smiths over on the other side of town?"
Nanny L. replied, "Yes, I sure did. I wondered who that was."
To which Mrs. B said, "Oh, let me tell you then."
Since everyone knew what you were doing, where you were doing it, and who you were doing it with, keeping secrets was almost impossible. Indeed, the residents of small towns should be recruited by the NSA or the CIA because those small town citizens--especially the women--would nose around and investigate until they dug up every detail about the object of their curiosity.
What better setting for romantic comedy? None I can think of because people in small towns are perfect role models for love and laughter.
Look for my other romantic comedies set entirely or partially in small towns: Just One Look, Old Enough to Know Better, Romeo and Judy Anne, The Trouble With Love, Still the One.
From the Back Cover
"I'm not looking for a husband. I'm perfectly happy in my unmarried state, and I wish everyone in this town would realize that. I have the freedom to come and go as I please without answering to a man. And I support myself. I don't need a husband for that. So why would I want one? You can have the milk without buying the cow, if you get my drift. Men knew that for years before we women discovered that fact."
Felicia looked at her rather oddly. "So you don't think Morgan is a good catch?"
Jane forced a laugh. "I was not impressed by him ten years ago so why should I change my mind just because he's acquired a few bucks in the bank."
"Actually, that's ten million in stocks, bonds, precious metals, and bucks in the bank," a deep voice behind her corrected.
Jane whirled and came face to face with a dark-haired man who towered over her. His mouth stretched in a smile that revealed dazzling white teeth. A silly thought flitted through her stunned brain. The better to eat you with, my dear.
Jane suppressed the hysterical giggle that bubbled upward. He wasn't the big bad wolf, but she felt a lot like Little Red Riding Hood at the moment. "Morgan!" Jane's voice was a whisper, yet, in the suddenly silent auditorium, it rang out.
Two things about Morgan Sherwood hadn't changed. His voice and his eyes.
"Hello, Jane."
Make that three things that hadn't changed, she thought, with the way she felt when he said her name being the third. She shivered and remained silent. Morgan's smile widened, making her think again of the wolf that devoured Grandma. It wasn't a smile, Jane thought dizzily. It was a smirk. A smug, macho smirk aimed at her.
He looked pointedly at her name tag. "Jane (I'm-Still-Single) Jones," he read. "With a personality like yours, that's understandable."

Joan Reeves, Writing Happily Ever After—Time After Time, is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Romance. Regardless of the sub-genre, all of her novels have the same underlying premise: "It's never too late to live happily ever after. Her novels have been published in half a dozen languages, and her books are available in audio, ebook, and print.
NOTE: Since Joan has been writing for several years and had print books published with many publishers—American and foreign—be sure you choose a print book with a copyright date after 2011 because Amazon shows all of her old print books here. When not writing romance—or nonfiction to share what she has learned in life—Joan divides her time between the hustle and bustle of Houston and a house in the Texas Hill Country where she and her hero, her husband, sit on the porch at night, look at the star-studded sky, and listen to the coyotes howl.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2012I read this last fall and have been meaning ever since to review it. I don't ordinarily read lighthearted books in any genre! Maybe it's my early reader influence, growing up with a mom who introduced me to the classics. I fell in love with the dark writers, Tolstoy, Hawthorne, the Bronte sisters. But I had corresponded with Joan and read her blog and liked it so much, so wanted to try her fiction. I loved the description of Jane I'm-Still-Single-Jones. Who hasn't attended their high school reunion and not felt what Jane feels? Even successful, the high school beauty queen, no less, you still feel somehow inadequate--and there's always that guy, the one relationship that didn't end right. Jane's story captures every nuance of reunion doubt and trepidation. In fact every character in the story is so well defined, I felt warmed in their presence. Joan Reeves is one smart, professional writer who knows her genre inside and out and just how to serve it up with equal measures of snappy dialogue, humor and romantic delight. I loved this book and recommend it!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2011This book was entertaining and funny. This is the story of Jane, who left the small town and is now a famous fabric designer in NYC and single. She is coming back to her 10 year high school reunion. She didn't want to see Morgan, her high school crush and the boy who broke her heart. Jane was a chearleeder and Morgan was the class nerd. Morgan became a millionaire businessman and coming back to his old highschool was bittersweet. He wanted people in the small town to see how well he had done, but especially, he wanted Jane to see who he was now. The reunion itself provided lots of amusing moments, especially being in a small town where everyone knows everything and like to meddle in each others business. When they first meet, they were both shocked at how attracted they still were to each other. Even after all these years, Morgan has not forgotten about Jane and how she broke his heart.
This is a story of misunderstandings. It starts that way and slowly continues creating more misunderstandings along the way. It becomes a bit frustrating at times, a simple conversation would have cleared so many things up, but then again, we wouldn't have a book to read! There are tons of characters in the story that add to the meddling town and to the story.
Story was cute, nothing dramatic or earth shaking. It is very light and funny story. Overall pretty cute!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2024I wholeheartedly recommend Jane (I'm Still Single) Jones for a palette cleanser if you normally read darker, heavier books. This lighthearted look at high school reunions in a southern town will have you grinning and cheering for Jane to finally put an end to her longing for the reason for her broken heart. But will learning the truth help her move toward a promising future? I enjoyed this fun heartwarming romance!
- Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2012Doesn't take A lot of thinking. I read on a long lay over in an airport. Great for a pool side read
- Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2011This book was truly awful. The characters are completely underdeveloped, the plot was terrible, not to mention predictable, and ending was absurd! Even for a "girly" book it was bad. I was just looking for a fun summer read... this was a total miss for me.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2012I just finished reading the story and loved it. The main characters, Jane and Morgan, were vulnerable and trying to protect themselves from further hurt, but couldn't stay away from each other. The entire cast was great and came to life with just a few well chosen descriptions. The story was funny and sad and sexy and had a great ending. The nasty people didn't need much in the way of descriptions, as their actions and dialogue did the job quite well.
This was my first Joan Reeves book but it won't be my last. Beautifully written and edited!!! Yeah!!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 13, 2014A light-hearted book with a good story line. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would like to read other books by the same author.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 6, 2011I really like this author. All of her books are quite fun to read. Lately I have been getting in to romance novels but unless they have humor to them, I usually don't like them. This book was really funny and really cute. I loved the characters and the dialog. For less than a buck, it's worth the price! The only thing I should warn you about is the amount of spelling and grammatical mistakes, there are plenty. I wish the author had an editor read it before selling it to fix those errors but other than that this book is fantastic!
