The Jane Barnaby Adventures Box Set
Audible Audiobook
– Unabridged
All archaeology student Jane Barnaby had to do was deliver a box of pottery shards to her professor at his dig site, along with his new car. Yes, his office was in Oxfordshire, and his dig site was in Spain, a trip of 1,400 miles across three countries and two bodies of water. Still, it should have been simple. That is, until everything went wrong.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2017I loved J. J. DiBenedetto's Dream Series, but I think I like the Jane Barnaby series even more. All three books are really good, and the character of Jane is well-written and fun to read. In Finders Keepers, Jane is entrusted by her mentor, an archaeologist, to take his brand new vehicle and a box of what was supposed to be pottery shards deliver them safely into his hands. What happens next is an exciting adventure across two countries where she's chased by people who want the box. She doesn't know who to trust, and she has to rely on her instincts, which, at times, are flawed. In Loser's weepers, Jane is once again drawn into an adventure when her zany friend from college suddenly reappears - now a uncharacteristically subdued engaged young woman who seems to be completely under the control of her fiancé. Jane's concern is heightened when her friend pulls a disappearing act and Jane finds evidence she may be involved with Nazi artifacts. The story is exciting to the end, and Jane's sometimes impulsive character does not disappoint as she more than once gets herself in situations that are hard to get out of. Finally, in Her Brother's Keeper, Jane's twin brother is arrested for stealing jewels in a foreign country. Jane, in the company of her soon-to-be-step-mother and a new, but annoying new acquaintance, Sheryl, set off to try to find the actual culprit - the woman flirting with her shy, introverted brother the night before. Just as Jane has sights on the woman, a nefarious character from her past shows up, causing Jane to wonder just who's behind the heist.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2021Finders Keepers (The Jane Barnaby Adventures Book 1), my first read from author J.J. DiBenedetto, an author I'd wanted to read since acquiring his first book back in August of 2014, yet never getting around to it until now.
Losers Weepers (Jane Barnaby Adventures #2), my second read from author J.J. DiBenedetto.
Her Brother's Keeper (The Jane Barnaby Adventures Book 3), my third read from author J.J. DiBenedetto. Outstanding suspense fiction, with well-written with characters & a plot you can buy into with unexpected twists & turns. Cait Frizzell's narration adds to the enjoyment of the book. “I received a free Audible copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
- Reviewed in the United States on November 12, 2020I have so enjoyed reading about Jane and her adventures. She is a delightful character. Looking forward to the next book.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2018I'm still working my way thru the first of the books, but so far am finding it disappointing and may never get to the rest.
I wanted something mystery or action adventure related, as the blurbs promised and the reviews I first saw for this implied. Unfortunately it reads more like a Early 20-something Harlequin Romance story with some rather predictable character interactions and some writer's belief that all 20-something women are anxious, nervous, bit off more than they can chew in regards to responsibility and will over react to stress and are as likely to slug someone as kiss them in regards to mood and how they first meet.
Sorry but those are cliches of a sort, and they are bothersome ones that have been around for the past few decades.
Add in a plot that has to do with an accidentally picked up McGuffin and it feels like its not what I was hoping for. It may satisfy some folks, but I'm a bit jaded and looking for something more original.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 22, 2017The Jane Barnaby adventure box set includes three delightful stories with the adventure seeking girl who acts impulsively on the spur of the moment and always seems to find trouble as a result. Whether chasing jewel thieves or trying to save her best friend from a mistake of a marriage, there is no leap to large for the girl to take. The stories are sometimes silly and often improbable but always fun.
The narrator does a great job with bringing the books to life, but she does have some trouble with her accents, particularly her Russian spy who sometimes sounds Irish.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 23, 2021The plots moved quickly and the characters were interesting if not a bit crazy. With the covid lockdown continuing its nice to be able to lose yourself for a few hours time ,enjoying the antics of a crazy young woman and her entourage of unwitting enablers.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 16, 2018I was hooked into the intriguing insanity of Jane pretty quickly and had to keep reading to the last page. These stories do not have twists and turns, the are constant interstate highway MIX-MASTERS! Every time I figured it out, something changed...loved it!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 21, 2021I rated a 4 because I'm a stickler for grammatical errors. It's not for Mark & I or to Mark & I. The plots were good, descriptions of locations was realistic. The characters are likeable & relatable. The villains were very sneaky or spy-like. You definitely didn't trust them...right along with Jane.
