The Jane Seymour Conspiracy: A Tudor conspiracy thriller with a modern day twist (The Marquess House Saga Book 4) Kindle Edition

4.6 out of 5 stars 1,146 ratings

The page-turning alternative history saga returns! Perfect for fans of Dan Brown, Philippa Gregory, Kate Mosse and Tom Harper.

Marquess House is under threat…

London, 1527

Nineteen-year-old Jane Seymour arrives at court to take her place with Queen Katherine of Aragon. Discovering a court already beginning to divide into factions between Katherine and Jane’s second cousin, Anne Boleyn, Jane finds herself caught between the old world and the new. Determined to have a son, the king appears to be prepared to take whatever steps he deems necessary to secure the Tudor dynasty.

When King Henry VIII finally succeeds in his pursuit of Anne, Jane witnesses the slow unravelling of his interest in the new queen as she, too, fails in her task to deliver a son. Having watched both Katherine and Anne fall from grace, Jane has no ambition for the throne, but when the king begins seeking her out, Jane realises the decision may be out of her hands…

Pembrokeshire, 2020

When a set of papers called The Pentagram Manuscript makes its way to Perdita and Piper at Marquess House, they find they have a new mystery to unravel. The manuscript is the tale of five women on a quest to find true love, written while Anne Boleyn was queen. As Perdita begins to unravel the text, she discovers a code that leads to a whole new outlook on Henry’s relationship with Jane Seymour.

But before they have a chance to reveal all, the twins find themselves under threat from a different source. Their second cousin, Xavier Connors, is determined to wrest Marquess House from them. As Marquess House must be passed down through the female line, and Perdita and Piper do not have children, Xavier sees his twin daughter as being next in line. And when Piper is nearly driven off the road, they realise he will stop at nothing to get what he wants…

What really happened to Henry VIII’s Tudor queens? Why was history rewritten?

Will Piper and Perdita be able to unravel all of the secrets before it’s too late…?

THE JANE SEYMOUR CONSPIRACY is the fourth book in the Marquess House Saga, a dual timeline conspiracy thriller with an ingenious twist on a well-known period of Tudor and Stuart history.

Hello, thank you for visiting my author page and thank you even more if you’ve bought, read or listened to one of my books. I really hope you enjoyed it.

My books are dual timeline stories featuring the lost voices of women, both real and imaginary. The Marquess House Saga reimagines the stories of the women from Henry VIII’s court through to the Civil War, telling a tale of secrets, mysteries and intrigues which ripple through into the lives of the present day characters. While, The Wind Chime, The Music Makers and The Forgotten Palace focus on the lives of Victorian women and how their stories connect to the 21st century characters.

Across centuries this story reveals its secrets, sometimes with twists and big surprises. After getting this far in the series, I find myself weary of who married and who married multiple times and who are the strings of relatives.

WOW. I am absolutely in awe of the depth, breadth, and sheer complexity of all four books in Alexandra Walsh’s The Marquess House Saga. I can’t even imagine the amount of research she must have done, resulting in four amazing, compelling, interesting, and utterly addictive stories with intelligent characters that I quickly came to care about. Truly outstanding.

If you enjoy historical fiction and dual timeline stories, do yourself a favor and read these books! As for me, after devouring all four books in record time, I’m off to find everything else the brilliant Ms. Walsh has ever published… 😁

Perdita and Piper follow a strong line of Woman that fight to bring justice to a malicious world of gilt and pomp. Underlying this devious time of murders, executions and torture, where nothing is sacrosanct and ponderings are capricious and cruel, these brave Woman attempt to protect and utilize for the common good. A very interesting read.

I loved the twist and turns of this story about Jane Seymour. It is sad to know how crazy Henry was and what his wife's had to go through. I enjoyed reading this story. I would recommend it to my friends.

I'd never even known mystery with history tied in was a genre until I read the 1st book in this series. Mysteries aren't my usual favorites but I adore history and historical fiction.

The historical liberties taken in this series prompted me to research and ponder over what I read. In any case, I learned new things, got good references at the end of every book and thoroughly enjoyed all of the books in the series!

It was really nice to see Jane Seymour portrayed in a different light, with some spunk and toughness!

I love the moderately paced thriller. The alternative reality appeared very plausibly tragic, and delivered with just enough suspense. The story encapsulates the reader into desiring the author’s presented reality. Fantastic read.

I read this in a day, and it was worth it! Such a unique twist on the history we all know and adore. There were parts where I gasped, held my breath, maybe even teared up, but I'm not admitting to it! It has been an absolute JOY to read these books! I can only hope this isn't the last I read from Ms. Walsh!

I'm so glad the author decided to continue this series. It's amazingly well-researched and has me constantly Googling to learn more about the characters and events. I do have two major beefs with it, though:
1- I am insanely jealous of Perdita and Piper. Inheriting an ancient manor house filled with secrets and more than enough money and staff to allow them to explore every last one (and a gorgeous guy each to explore with)... yes please. ;)
2- The deeper I get into this series the more I prefer its version of history to the real one. :-D
Obviously, this is all fiction, but it does make you stop and think how easily the truth could have been manipulated in eras before technology.
The only real thing I dislike about this series is the names. Perdita and Piper? Perds and Pipes? Come on! Bad, but not nearly bad enough to keep me from reading these books again and again. I hope the series continues!!

I've just finished this last book and wished there were more to keep reading.I love the characters, they became almost real to me by the end of this fifth book. I felt for them, worried over them, I haven't read many that pulled me in as these have. If you like historical books with a twist then I advise you to try the first in the series and enjoy.
I love that there were a few chapters in our time then just as you are wondering how that was going to go,the next chapter was back in Henry VIII's day. Then you were there with all the intrigues and the fear, the beauty of the women and how very clever they had to be at a time when they were only seen as possessions of their father's, brother's,uncle's etc.
I am going to try another of her books next but feeling slightly sad that I won't see what happens in the lives of those I have so enjoyed reading about. In case I haven't said it clearly, I have thoroughly enjoyed every book, word and all the beautiful image forming I received from reading these amazing books. Thank you Alexandra Walsh.💖

This is an interesting story with lots of history and a little drams. I enjoyed reading it ,however I did feel in spite of the end drama the revealing of the history at the end was a bit rushed as though the writer just wanted to end the book. It would have been better if the ending puzzle was revealed slowly and in more detail
