New Adult Romance author. Reading was my earliest passion, often seeking the sanctuary of my room or the library to read everything I could get my hands on.
I probably drink too much coffee and eat too much junk food, but to compensate do like running and rollerblading outdoors when the weather is nice. I'm a hopeful romantic who prefers stories with a happy ending. You can often find me in a library or coffee shop working on my next story, or with my nose in a book.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 26, 2017Awesome love story with many twisted relationship between the characters in this story. I enjoyed reading this author's books. Things are so good, that this book is getting better and better than the last book. ENJOY
- Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 20163 stars This is a contemporary good romance. Jemma is a young woman who lost her parents but gave up college so she could raise her 2 year old brother. She works waiting tables and writes blogs on the side. She needs more money to care for him so she plans an interview with Daniel who is a reality show star. She cares a lot for him but she seems to be the only one who is making any effort towards a relationship. Daniel is conflicted & cares for Jemma but is also in a contract for a 2nd reality show with his previous girlfriend. Jemma's life is being trashed because of her relationship with Daniel. She also has a rock star Jasper, who cares for her. The little of the book that is contained here is good BUT there is a reason I normally do NOT read books that aren't stand alones and I try to wait until the entire story is out. I love to read. As much as I like this story I do not like the segment/part format. I was given a free copy of this segment of the book for an honest review. As I said the story line is good and the story is progressing but what is Jemma going to end up losing because of Daniel? Is he worth it and does he really care about her or the publicity? I've read several of Ms. Carlyle's books including Emma and have enjoyed them.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 14, 2020Jemma is an entertainment blogger. It's her one and only job to support her and her little brother. She has a chance to boost her blog by interviewing realty tv star Daniel Stark. Add in Daniel's crazy ex lover, another blogger trying to sabotage her reputation and a hot rocker who is interested in Jemma. Daniel is stuck in the middle of all this chaos. What will happen to Jemma? This series was hot, steamy to listen to. I enjoyed all 5 books.
Laurie West narration was very good. She is a new narrator for me. She is a pleasure to listen to. She does an amazing job portraying the characters, giving each their own voice and personality. I was gifted the audio and offered my honest review
- Reviewed in the United States on March 7, 2020The hits keep coming for Jemma as just when she thinks that she and Robbie are on safe ground disaster strikes and the only person that she can call to help is Daniel. Daniel has his hands full with both his manager and his ex-girlfriend as he realizes he can’t trust either one of them.
Full of drama and twists the cliff hanger on this book in the series leaves you wanting the next book to see how it all plays out. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of the audiobook and thought the narrator did a great job of bringing the story to life.

This book is so enjoyable. There’s lots of drama to keep you hooked.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2016I was honestly shocked with how the second book ended, I honestly didn't see it coming. I never thought anyone would stoop as low as they did to get child services around to Jemma's house because of her not treating her brother right. I have thought that Jemma has done such an amazing job with raising Robbie, and I honestly wish that things would go right for both of them.
I honestly feel for Jemma as all she wants to do is be able to do right for her brother and to at least have a life that she can enjoy, but for some reason she can't have it. Jemma isn't a bad person in this case however Lexi seems to think that just because she is famous and everyone wants to know about her that she can happily try and destroy Jemma's life just because Daniel doesn't want her but wants Jemma instead.
However Daniel seems to be going through so much just to try and deal with Lexi, but he can't seem to get it into her head that he doesn't want her and he never will.
Hopefully everything will be alright for Jemma when child services arrive, but the only way your going to know is by picking up this book and giving it a try. Also will Jemma finally get a break from all the drama that Lexi is causing or is it only just beginning. Honestly you have no clue what your missing, so pick up this book and see for yourself otherwise if you haven't already start from the beginning and you'll experience what happens through Jemma's eyes.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2020This installment runs a gamut of emotions but I was left with the one that requires a head smack to our girl wonder and a beat down of the conniving Lexi. The search is on!
btw - still enjoying the narrator. 😘
- Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2020I loved getting back into Jem's life and finding out how she handles everything. I hate drama in my own life but I loved hearing about Jem's and how she deals with it all. Laurie did an awesome job narrating and had me on edge waiting for what happened next.
