Cambria Hebert is a bestselling novelist of more than fifty titles. She went to college for a bachelor’s degree, couldn’t pick a major, and ended up with a degree in cosmetology. So rest assured her characters will always have good hair.

Besides writing, Cambria loves a pumpkin spice latte, staying up late, sleeping in, and watching K drama until her eyes won’t stay open. She considers math human torture and has an irrational fear of chickens (yes, chickens). You can often find her running on the treadmill (she’d rather be eating a donut), painting her toenails (because she bites her fingernails), or walking her chihuahuas (the real bosses of the house).

Cambria has written in many genres, including new adult, sports romance, male/male romance, sci-fi, thriller, suspense, contemporary romance, and young adult. Many of her titles have been translated into foreign languages and have been the recipients of multiple awards.

LOOOOVED!

LOOOOVED!
My first Cambria Hebert book! And yes! I did start with this one because is M/M one of my favorite genres to read. And I'm so happy I did because it is absolutely beautiful! I loved loved loved it! Truly loved it! There are a million good things to say about this book but I will focus on the ones that really got me. The fact that there were no labels thrown around, it was like "love is love" there's no need to shout a label to the world in order for that love to be real. I loved how Trent and Drew both had insecurities and that it was all new to them and still when they realized what it was like to be with or without the other and how much they liked or disliked it, it wasn't even a question, they were together. The family's reaction was perfect, loving and beautiful. There's a rather nasty part that I want to forget but sadly those things happened before, now and are going to keep happening in the future, sometimes people are just to arrogant or afraid to accept what they do not understand. The ending! Good we won't have to wait long to know what happens next. PS. I'll definitely be reading the hashtag series.

Oh man, oh man. Seriously, be still, my beating heart. These two boys definitely stole it and put it through the ringer. I find it kind of fitting that #Junkie is the very first book that I've finished of 2016. This book is a spinoff of the Hashtag series, which began with #Nerd, the first book that I finished in 2015. A whole new year, a whole new series, and a whole new genre.

As I was reading the Hashtag books I immediately new that something was up between Drew and Trent when they first began interacting with one another. I'm not even sure if Cambria knew where the future of these two characters was going to go but I just felt it. I knew there was something there and I was super excited when she announced that the book was going to be an M/M romance.

I spent every day after the book was annnounced in agony. I wanted to read this book so badly and literally fangirled every time something new was posted; a teaser, a graphic, anything. And then Cambria offered me an ARC of the book fifteen days before it was scheduled to be released. I thought I was going to die from excitement.

And ya know what? Drew and Trent didn't let me down. One of the reasons I was so excited for this is because the majority of M/M romance is pure smut. There's hardly any emotional connection and it's over as quickly as it began. I have no problems with smut, in fact I love smut, but I love reading about how the characters feel when they realize something so new and different about themselves. I love reading about feelings and a love so strong that it completely changes their idea of who they thought they have always been. That's where LGBT romances get me. Right in the heart.

#Junkie was all of that and more. These two strong, courageous men took me on an emotional ride and didn't let go. I understand perfectly why Cambria and other authors might be a little hesitant about writing stories like this or feel a little pressured to do it a certain way. I'm sure it must be challenging and overwhelming to write about something so hard and emotional, something that you've never experienced in your own life, but Cambria did it so well.

Trent and Drew were amazing together in every way possible. Their story was heartbreaking and beautiful and nerve-wracking and perfect. If I ever believed that two characters needed and deserved to be together, it's these two. When the Hashtag series first began, I fell in love with Romeo and Rimmel. With Braeden and Ivy, I fell head over heels, feeling stronger for those two than I ever did for Romeo and Rimmel. But Trent and Drew are on an entirely different level. From the very beginning I was pulled in the direction of Trent, wondering what his role in the story would be, wondering why we weren't learning more about him. He was such a great character, so why wasn't he getting his time?

When Drew was introduced I was confused at first. Who is this guy and... do I like him? Do I dislike him? What was he going to add to the story? What was his deal? And then he met Trent and I knew. I just knew. They were perfect and it was perfect. The whole time I was praying that Hebert was going to take them in the direction that I felt they were needed to go. And she did and it was amazing.

Everything about this works and I couldn't get enough. The only bad thing is that the second book hasn't been written yet and I have to wait to see what happens next. ;)

    Rating: 5 Stars, hands down.
    Favorite Character: Trent.

    (Possible Spoilers)

I am so in love with Drew & Trent!

Drew Forrester, total adrenaline #Junkie, is looking for more in his life. He has his family, his best friend Trent, and his beloved 1969 Mustang. But he craves more. He wants to experience that feeling he gets, when he's behind the wheel, flying down the street, all the time. When a opportunity arises for indie drivers like him to make a name for themselves, he's more than ready. And with Trent by his side, who always believes in him, his car, and lots of heart, Drew Forrester is at the starting line ready to show the world what he's got. As ready as he is for this shot, is he ready to face whats happening between him and his best friend.

Trent Mask, beloved best friend, president of his fraternity, football player, is also looking for more in his life. He feels something is missing. And with graduation approaching, wondering what comes next is starting to weigh him down. The only time he doesn't seem to feel lost is when he's with Drew, but lately being around Drew is starting to bring out feelings that he has kept pushed down. And with pressure form his fraternity, these feelings toward his best friend, and what comes next, Trent seems to have more questions than answers. But he knows one thing, he doesn't want to loose Drew.

I LOVED every bit of this book. I knew I would. The Hashtag series is one of my favorite, and when I heard we were getting a spin-off series with Drew & Trent I could not be happier. Reading about their friendship when it first started back in #Poser, I just knew these two were going to hold a special place in my heart and I was right. Their story is one beautiful, sexy, funny, I want more and more, make me feel all the feels, kind of book.

Drew, Oh man do I love this scruffy, sexy, loyal, adrenaline junkie of a man! I loved being inside his head. Not only was he funny and cocky, he's vulnerable and sweet, and loves his family fiercely. He is trying to find himself. He wants to be someone other than what his father always excepted. You really seem him grow and reach for what wants.

Trent, oh Trent, did he make my heart ache, and make me want to hold him in my arms and give him the biggest hug. Trent is a beautiful character to read. His tenderness mixed with his tough and protective attitude. His love for his group of friends, that became his family. He was dealing with so many thoughts and emotions, but stayed strong, held his head high, and started to believe in himself.

I love these two characters so much. Their friendship that turned to so much more. They fight for each other, they have so much love, a bond, that I want to read more of, and over and over. And are these two HOT! That fist kiss...... Wow that was a first kiss to remember. ;)

Cambria Hebert is a amazingly talented writer, she brings to life these characters that wiggle their way into your heart, they stay with you long after the story has ended. The love, the funny one liners, the action, I felt like I was riding shotgun in the fastback every time Drew raced. It was a exhilarating book, fast paced and left me craving more Trent & Drew!

I liked Trent and Drew and their story—friends realizing they are in love with each other. It’s a slow burn, as it takes them a while to admit their feelings to themselves, let alone to each other.

Hebert does a good job of weaving in Trent’s frat issues and Drew’s racing rivalry with Lorhaven, making a rich and compelling world.

I like the family and other side characters, especially Joey and Ivy. They are fun and great allies.

I hate it when a single story is split into multiple books—it feels like a money grab. I mean, I am reading this in KU, so I’m not the one being cheated, but if I had bought this book and then found out that I had to buy the sequel in order to get a complete story, I would be mad.

I listened to the audiobook, and while I liked the narrators’ voices, they sounded robotic, sort of flat and lacking inflection like they had been done by AI. If it hadn’t been for the random car facts at the beginning of each chapter, I would have stopped listening and read it with my eyes instead.

'All I needed was a path. All I needed was a chance. I liked risks. Maybe I was reckless. But with great risk comes great reward. Or at the very least, one heck of an adrenaline rush.'

Holy feels!! Holy angst!! I'm excited to say that I have a new couple to add to my favorites list!! Trent and Drew blindsided me, and stole a piece of my heart in the process. I can't tell you how much I loved this book! #Junkie is Cambria Hebert's first m/m book and she did not disappoint. I have to admit that I've only read the first book in the Hashtag series, but as soon as I heard she wrote an m/m book, I knew I had to read it. I think reading the rest of the Hashtag series would've given me more background on these two characters, BUT, I don't think it hindered my enjoyment or connection to their story. I was hooked from the very first page.

'Love is patient. Love is kind. That's what they say. They say love doesn't take; love only gives. While those words are beautiful, they aren't true. Love does take. Loving someone takes strength. Love takes hard work. And sometimes...Love takes sacrifice.'

This is Trent and Drew's story. Trent is a college student who is on the verge of graduating. He's not sure what he wants to do with his life, but more than anything, he's not sure what to do about his feelings for his best friend Drew. These two share a strong connection that goes beyond friendship. Everyone else around them can see it, but neither Trent, or Drew are willing to admit it. They've both only ever been with woman. Drew is an Indie race car driver. He is the definition of an adrenaline junkie. This book does focus on Drew's career in racing, but the most important part lies in their struggle to admit how they feel about each other.

'No one had ever affected me like this. No one. This was real. Whatever this was, it was the most intense feeling I'd ever known.'

I have to say that one of the things I LOVED about this book was the slow build. Sometimes the angst and the story-line is more important than the physical connection of two characters. It makes those moments when they connect more meaningful. I was flipping the pages late into the night, waiting for that first kiss. I was desperate to get to the moment when these two finally opened their eyes to what was right in front of them. And when it happened...it was SO worth the wait!!

'I expected there to be some sort of electric surge. But it wasn't like that. Not when we first touched. It was this intense feeling of relief. Of finally finding the place I belonged.'

This story is told in dual POV, which was perfect for this book. It made it easy to connect to both Drew and Trent. I can't tell you how perfect these two are together. They compliment each other in every way. Their friendship gave them such a strong foundation for love, and the way they protected each other was so endearing. I love Cambria's writing style. Her writing flows well and is so easy to read. She doesn't just string a bunch of words together to make them sound beautiful...her words mean something. As a reader, that means something to me.

'Society talked a good talk. Love is love. People are free to be who they are. Gay love is beautiful. I wished it were that simple. Because even though as a whole, the world wants to accept the love I feel, we weren't there yet.'

I highly recommend this book! If you've read the rest of the Hashtag series then you will definitely want to read Trent and Drew's story, and catch up with some of your other favorite characters. If you haven't read Cambria's other books, I think you can still read #Junkie without feeling like you're missing too much. I can't wait for the next book in this series to see how Trent and Drew's story turns out!!

Another fantastic entry in this series. Cambria has been dropping hints about these two guys throughout the past few books, and it's nice to finally see them get together officially. Romance is romance and it doesn't matter what gender the people involved are, as long as it's a good story and the characters are the kind of people you relate to and want to succeed. I think the discussion of the issues for these two in admitting their love was honest, and I'll look forward to the next book.

First off, how utterly superb is that cover? This is likely the first time ever I have bought a book from the cover alone - it's just that darn eye-catching and original. One look and I knew the inside was going to be just as unique. In fact, the writing felt so fresh within a couple of chapters I was already out of the book-funk I'd been finding myself in lately. CH has an impactful, emotion-fuelled voice that portrayed these boys perfectly and gave the prose a crisp, faultless flow. So it was incredibly easy to lose myself in the story, fall head over heels with Trent and Drew and root for them with all my heart.

There are plenty of reviews about the story itself so I won't repeat the highs and lows. Just know there's enough emotion to make your heart clutch, enough angst to keep the pages flipping - even as you're slowing down to absorb every word - and several amazing characters who you'd love to meet in real life. And for those of you who hate cliffhangers, I'll say this... It was so well done that although i desperately want the next book in my hands, I wasn't about to throw my kindle off the wall in frustration or anger, feeling I'd been cheated. Because the love was so apparent and heartfelt in the final stages, I believe that though Trent and Drew have a long way to go, when they reach that truly special HEA, their fears will be obliterated and their need and adoration for one another will be eternal. The stuff of dreams.

Bravo, Cambria Hebert for this exceptional first foray into MM. I'm mightily impressed!

This is indeed a five star book. Admittedly I'm not into racing at all. It doesn't do anything for me - but Drew and Trent certainly did and made up plenty for that! I loved both of them in equal amounts. Trent is honest and loyal and full of honour while Drew is a wonderfully passionate 'bad' boy. (Okay, I would have issues if I had to be in a car with him - I really don't condone dangerous driving - but I know I'm totally ignorant of racing so I'm happy to go with all his driving madness, and I do not want anyone to mistake this comment as a criticism).
I'm still smouldering from the amount of delicious, beautiful UST between them. It is incredibly well done and there were so many heart-wrenching wonderful moments, twisting and tearing my heart into pieces.... sigh. Absolutely amazing. As is the character development. AND that first kiss is certainly one of the best I've read in m/m romance (and I have read quite a bit).
What happened to Trent at the end certainly threw him quite a bit, and as a result, he may have overreacted. In a protective way, as he would. That's the way he is. It broke my heart. These guys have just found each other!
Ms Hebert said at the end we wouldn't have to wait long for the next book, that we would get the next instalment of Trent and Drew's story soon. I have no idea what 'soon' means in the life of an author. All I know is I'll be counting the days, minutes, ... for the continuation of this story.
Please Ms. Hebert - make soon VERY soon?!

I've loved this book. Trent and Drew's story is beautiful, passionate and also sad. So many feelings they burst all over the pages.
