A high adrenaline romance with a heroine I love!
I have been dying for a romance where the heroine takes her crown and slays her enemies with it. This talented author brought that to me and so much more within the pages of this book. Once I finished it, I flipped back to the beginning and read it for a second time because I wasn't ready for it to end. Beckett is such a badarse! Her personality is cut first and then ask questions - I love how she isn't the flowers and chocolates kind of young woman - she definitely prefers to burn rubber and sharpen her blade. Maddox is the damaged soul that is buries his pain deep, but his love even deeper. The connection between him and Beckett is one that burns bright and lives on for eternities. His demons may be long gone in reality but they still haunt him in his dreams. Jett is the perfect balance between these two - his love and devotion for Beckett is something that even the toughest of women will adore. I couldn't help but laugh at his light hearted moments and swoon over his sweetness. These three together is just perfection - I laughed, yelled and swooned so much. I have never yelled at a group of characters as much as I have with this group. The angst and the longing about ripped me in two, but it's so worth every painful part in the beginning. I loved the characters, how each of them had their own strengths and weaknesses. The story was phenomenal with the perfect mix of action, twists, surprises and steam. I will definitely be going back and reading Beckett's parents story because I want to know it all and I can't wait to see what this talented author has in store for Riley!

    This was such a great start of bringing us into the new generation from the Watch Me Burn series. It was awesome to see Rory, her Psychos, and her Devils along with their allied crews.
    This story specifically centered on Beckett (who is 1000% a mix of Rory and Skeet through and through), Maddox (her adopted brother and best friend), and Jett (her twin Ryder’s best friend and who was raised by her parents).
    Beckett has been in love with Maddox almost since he was brought into their home and their bond is undeniably tight and treasured by each of them. Well, until Beckett’s released from her 1 year jail sentence at 21, and they each realize how much harder it’s getting to hide their true feelings from everyone, including themselves and each other, then it becomes a bit strained.
    Since they were teenagers, Jett has almost obsessively loved Beckett, especially after they had sex at 17. But, Beckett has always considered that experience an accident and looks at Jett as the annoying man-wh0r3 best friend of her twin who obsessively hits on her.
    What happens when Jett is finally ready to show Beckett he’s dead serious about her? What about when Maddox, her absolute rock, betrays her to the core and destroys their relationship so thoroughly it begins to fracture the entire family dynamics? What about when Jett is there to help Beckett during the heartbreak from Maddox?
    Even better, what will the family’s reactions be to all of this? KOC gives us a huge story that gives us so much background on, not only these 3, but quite a few of the new generation!     I f’love the world of the Donovan’s, their extended family and friends!
    If you’re new to RE Bond I would recommend reading about the first generation in the Watch Me Burn series. Where you’ll learn about Rory Donovan and her 9 men! Then you’ll understand who some of the characters are in this first book King of Carnage, and of the second generation and the next series From the Ashes.

    This books focus is on Beckett Donovan the daughter of Rory and Skeeter(unofficially) and twin sister to Ryder. Boy what a combination of DNA! Crazy and crazier!

    I read this so fast, it’s pages gripped me from the prologue and kept me turning the page until the very end!

    Beckett has always been close to Maddox, from the moment they met they had a special bond. Her parents adopted him at the age of 4, so these two grew up as siblings but as the years pass by their bond and feelings shift. Beckett and Maddox can no longer deny what’s going on between them, even if Maddox is pushing her away. Hurting her and sending her into the waiting arms of Jett. I loved Jett’s character, he was a comedic relief in the middle of all the chaos. He was soft, the opposite of Beckett and she really needed that in her life plus he knows her better then anyone. He was also willing to share her with Maddox if he would ever get his head out of his butt.

    The side characters also brought a lot to this book! I enjoyed seeing glimpses of the 1st and 2nd generations working together to find and eliminate a common enemy, that nobody saw coming!
    Twist, turns, violence, kidnapping, revenge and plenty of hot steamy scenes will have you glued to this book!

    I’m so excited for the next book Pretty Little Psycho which will be about Riley Donovan!

    Dude I read this in one day wtf.

    To be completely honest I wanted to read Pretty Little Psycho because I’m trying to review dark sapphic romances for a friend of mine…
    But literally in chapter one I find out that book one is about a throuple including a girl with her adoptive brother?!!

    Immediately stopped reading and picked this up because I had to. I also learned that this series is a second gen spinoff involving the kids of a lady gang leader and her 9 lovers…9

    The taboo romance of it all was interesting. But it was the twin brother’s best friend that stole the show.

    Jett was my golden retriever with the sassiest mouth!! I loved his brother/sister quips so much. The way he teased Maddox and even Beckett, I just fell in love with him so much.

    Don’t ask me what this story was about I don’t even remember anymore. This was all vibes. Murdery fmc, grumpy adoptive brother, and golden retriever twin brothers best friend…beautiful combo. Absolutely here for it.

    Spice wise…it was rather bland. I’d give it maybe 2.5 chili peppers

    Aurora and her nine baby daddies Caden, Jensen, Tyler, Lukas, Slash, Skeeter, Diesel, Hunter and Marko have grown since we last saw them, including Jade, Alex, Harley, Archer, Lexi, Rage, and Charlie, and with growth comes with the trials and tribulations of there children Lloyd, Mikey, Angel, Beckett, Ryder, Riley, Marla, Maddox, Landon, Tempest, Luna, Zane and Phoenix, and to say they are nothing like there parents is an understatement.

    What was meant to be a friendly race, ends in heartache with the loss of Lloyd, his passing felt by his whole family, but more so Beckett, and when she exacts her revenge, it lands her in the last place she never thought she’d be, like mother like daughter.

    Three years later, after serving her time, she’s out, and with that comes a lot of change, changes she rolls with when she reasserts her authority.

    But there are two guys in her life she has to contend with Jett her one time fling and who had been taken in by her family after his parents abandoned him, and her brother Maddox, who she has a deeper bond with extending from there childhood.

    And those MF and MFM s*x scenes were steamy, it had all the angry angst, hate, pleasure and passion one would except when you have two guys that like to please there girl every single day.

    Beckett’s relationship with Jett and Maddox has grown in strength, but they all work together in there own way, because nothing and no one will get between Beckett and her alpha dominating, controlling, yet overly possessive guys. She loves them and they love he, regardless of all their differences, because they are all in this together, for life!

    I regret not reading this book sooner.

    I was afraid Beckett would read like a pick me girl at first but thankfully she was just a badass FMC, it’s no wonder so many people admire and love her.

    I was also surprised with how much I loved Jett. He reads like the Labrador love interest which is normally not my favourite but he was just so damn charming and his love and loyalty to Beck was so endearing. I loved him just as much as I did Maddox, I honestly couldn’t choose between them.

    I would say I would have liked to see a bit more grovelling from Maddox to Beckett after what he did, and I had been hoping for a scene between Ry and Beckett at the end after all the times he felt upset that she didn’t trust him as much as others, specially after standing by her and standing up for her through the whole book.

    Despite that, I loved this book. Beckett’s relationships with all the different characters was so fun to read, specially Zane, watching them all grow in different ways it made me jealous I didn’t have a family like hers, all those dads and siblings and uncles, loved everyone one of them.

    The withdrawal I felt from this world once I finished the Watch Me Burn series was no joke. So to say I was a little excited when this new series was announced is a bit of an understatement.

    Getting glimpses of characters that I’ve come to love was wonderful to see while falling in love with the second generation.

    Beckett, Maddox and Jett… I can’t explain it because they were all so different but they worked so well together. Jett has always wanted Beckett and he has no shame in expressing it. I love how he unapologetically himself and just wants to be with her even if it means sharing her.

    Having feelings for two men can usually lead to problems but when one of them is your adoptive brother well… chaos.

    While they navigate through feelings and forbidden thoughts we are treated to a beautiful love story. As always there is a ton of blood shed, good laughs and suspenseful moments that keep you on your toes.

    I cannot wait for the next book and I would like to start the campaign for Zane to get his own book!
