About the Author

There are a lot of eyes in Debra Anastasia's house in Maryland. First, her own creepy peepers are there, staring at her computer screen. She's made two more sets of eyes with her body, and the kids they belong to are amazing. The poor husband is still looking at her after 17 years of marriage. At least he likes to laugh. Then the freaking dogs are looking at her—six eyeballs altogether, though the old dog is blind. And the cat watches her too, mostly while knocking stuff off the counter and doing that internal kitty laugh when Deb can't catch the items fast enough. In between taking care of everything those eyes involve, Debra creates pretend people in her head and paints them on the giant, beautiful canvas of your imagination. What an amazing job that is. The stories hit her hard while driving the minivan or shaving her legs, especially when there's no paper and pen around. Within all of the lies she writes hides her heart, so thank you for letting it play in your mind.

Debra has written a smattering of books in a few genres. There are two paranormal romances in the Seraphim Series and now four contemporary romances in the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood Series, Fire Down Below and Fire in the Hole, complete the Gynazule Comedy Series. The Revenger, a dark paranormal romance, is finally in the light, and the last, a novella called Late Night with Andres, is special because 100% of the proceeds go to breast cancer research. This book. This book!!! This is the kind of book I absolutely love to read. A fantastic romantic suspense story with dark touches along the way. Be aware, the beginning is going to suck you in with its cuteness, but like storm clouds in the summer, the darkness that takes over this book will come quickly. Leaving you shocked, worried, and incapable of stopping. This book can most definitely be read as a standalone. In my personal opinion, it would be best to read Mercy and Havoc first though. It will help you to understand the dynamic between all of these characters a little better and enhance your reading experience.

    Lock is a fantastic and absolute must read. Anastasia blew me away with this book. I loved every second of Embers' journey through the Hell that is Mercys'
    World. It was captivating and I adore the way Anastasia made me fall in love with the characters.

    I am literally OBSESSED with this world Anastasia created. I have always wanted Embers' story, since the moment she showed up in Mercy. She was the mysterious sister, who knew little of the world in which she was thrust into. 

    Ember desperately doesnt want to be alone, but she decides she wants the freedom of being a young woman. Once she sets out on her journey, she is immediately thrown into a dangerous situation and meets Lock. For them it was insta love. I love Locks goofiness and his willingness to do anything for those he loves. But living in the world of Mercy isnt always rainbows and unicorns. Both Ember and Lock soon realise that in order to survive they have to protect the ones they love at all costs. The situations they find themselves in leaf my heart pounding and my mind screaming. 

    You also get more of Nix, Animal and T. Iove how entwined they all are. And seriously Anastsia loves making my man Nix hurt. I just wanted to run into these pages and hug the big bad skeleton. I just adore him to freaking pieces. 

    So I must say this. You need to read Lock. If you havent read Mercy or Havoc either, then you better do that now. One of my favorites ever.

    I have honestly loved this entire series and this book did not disappoint! Another top read for me and I cannot get enough do these characters.

    Ember is the sister of Mercy, an assassin who will do anything to protect her. When she tell Mercy that she needs some space and wants to go to college, she never thought the boy who would capture her heart would be thrown through the window of the pizza shop she was eating at. Ember and Lock are immediately drawn to each other and realize what they feel for each other isn’t like any other relationship they’ve ever had.

    When Ember’s life is out in danger, Lock knows that he has to do whatever he can to protect her, even reaching out to her brother for help.

    I absolutely love Ember and Lock! Their relationship is so cute. Lock is pretty much obsessed with Ember from the get go and I love how far he goes to show her how much she means to him.

    I liked the story line and how old enemies came back in this book. Nix and Animal are some of my faves so I was really excited to have them be in this book. I did enjoy having Animal’s POV in this.

    This book had the right amount of spice and the right amount of story; perfectly balanced!

    Just finished Lock! With the title I kept thinking of the movie Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels and this had some of those actors in mind while reading and I want Ember’s Hair. I do color in my daughter’s hair every summer, our one rebellion from our school district rules against it.
    Debra Anastasia I’m in love with Lock and Ember! And it was fun to Have Animal as a feature again too along with more with Ember’s relationship with her brother and crew. She just wanted a college life. She wanted independence just as most 19 year olds do. But Ember was new to this complicated underworld. She was protected from it and didn’t grow up understanding it. Fate draws her in. Brother and sister are more alike than they could have known. Their strength, their stubbornness, their love that is so great and powerful, it also is their only Achilles Heel.
    I love Lock! What a charmer he is! I can see why Ember would have an attraction to Animal and Lock with both of their charm. But this was a true love at first sight in the middle of gunfire, violence and blood. I breathed their inhale and exhale with them through the whole tale! I also love the inclusion of Lock’s little sister with special needs. As a special education teacher I have met many Kids like her. They may not have the words but they understand and tell you so much from their expressions. I want baby tales for this group! All of them! Born and adopted! This is the family of their making.

    My obsession with this book and this series is at an all time high. Debra Anastasia outdid herself with Lock. With each book she releases in this series the more I need and don’t want her to leave these characters. I wasn’t sure where we were going when I knew Ember was getting her own story but Anastasia blew my expectations out of the water.

    Ember and Lock are perfect for each other. The wittiness between then was great. But also we were shown just how much they needed one another to survive their situations. They leaned on one another when there was no one else around. They were the Lock and Key.

    It was also great to see the relationship between Ember and Mercy develop more into that brother and sister bond. We see just how much they mean to each other and we understand a little more why Mercy is the way he is.

    ANIMAL!!!!! So many hearts for this man lol. After reading Lock my love for Animal is so much stronger than it was for Havoc. He was an added piece to Thai story. We got to see what was going on from Mercy and Animal’s point of view even though the story is about Ember and Lock. We also see how much Animal values Ember.

    I can’t wait to read this story again and fall in love with these characters again and again. 5 stars for Lock

    You will need to have read at least Mercy and Havoc before reading Lock to get the full effects, as things with Ember did start back in their books.

    I won't lie - it did take me a little while to get into Lock, and it wasn't until about 45% that things really did kick off for me - however I think this is probably just me, and end of year book blogger weariness and not the book.

    This does start out as a sweet college romance, however it does not take long for things to turn darker, however with Ember being Nix/Mercy's sister, it should not really surprise you.

    To me, this book should have been called Ember rather than Lock, as I felt we got so much more of her than Lock. I loved the journey Ember takes in this story, and whilst yes it is a lot of .... Lock it is more her story.

    But this is just me.

    I don't want to give anything away, as I feel that this is a story that you need to immerse yourself in , heart and soul.

    You will be taken on one hell of a ride with this lot!

    Buy it. Love it.

    The third book from Debra tells the story of Nix’s sister Ember. At 19 she wants to be independent which goes against everything Nix is comfortable with.

    Lock is the only bread winner for his mother & sister. They live in an area where gang life is the norm and sons often never come home.

    One fateful day, Lock comes across Ember and we could say the rest us history. However, an old adversary of Nix & Animal comes out to play and decides Ember is just the ticket for his future plans.

    Lock is ridiculously sweet. He wears his heart on his sleeve and doesn’t shy away from telling Ember what he’s thinking. Ember, while feeling the same, is a little more cautious. There are so many obstacles for this young couple to overcome, you wonder if they ever will.

    This story is a roller coaster ride with every character in the series having a part to play. Ember is worthy of standing alongside Becca and T while Lock is like Nix & Animal, his woman is everything to him.

    Another brilliant piece of storytelling by Debra that will have you biting your nails from the edge of your seat.

    I loved this book. I loved Lock and Ember's story. Lock is a real charmer and sweet guy for Ember. I loved the whole gang Nix, Becca, Animal and T. What a great ending and new beginning with a baby for Nix and Becca. Loved it.

    The first time Lock and Ember meet the sparks sure fly,Lock is fighting for his family his mother sister Ryh she is his world and his dad in prison for a crime he didn't commit, he joins a street gang thinking its his only chance, but once meeting Ember things all change little does Lock know that she is the sister of Nix aka Mercy, a brother a protecter of all the people he loves but one night that all changes Ember is forced to make a decision that involves all the people she love's, she Sassy feisty and willing to sacrifice everything for her family but at what cost her life, this book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time a book you really need to read will they get their HEA you will have to read it to find out.
