About the author

I have been a writer for a number of years, finally branching out into publishing. I grew up in Texas, where much of what I write happens. I've been a real-life dom for a quarter century now. I've always liked writing, entering new vistas my mind affords. Life makes us the men and women we are, and I often (changing names to protect not so much the innocent but the delightfully sinful) dip into my life's experiences for the fiction I will be providing you. Thank you for stopping by.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 9, 2018I am absolutely loving this series. If you haven’t read books 1 & 2 please do not read this review because it will spoil the first two books. Again book 3 starts directly when book 2 ended which I am so grateful for this author to be so consistent with the timelines.
Josiah started with four slaves ~ Molly, his wife, Leigh, a doctor in Molly’s practice, Lucretia, and ex-dom who disciplined Leigh, and Darla, a former client who became family after her marriage came crashing down and then through her courageous show of love for her sister Molly.
Then in book 2 Josiah’s family expanded to include Elaine, a slave owner to Beth, the wife to Marvin, who had seduced the then willing Darla and to which end caused the total destruction to Darla’s marriage. Both Beth and Marvin have been in included into this family as well. Astrid was found by Leigh as she was being treated for an injury to her should that she got while she was self disciplining. This brought the family closer together, bonding them all into one family.
Then came the end of book 2. 3 starts off where 2 ended. Where one last character was introduced. Now enter Becky, waitress extraordinaire, AKA the one who dumped an entire pitcher of iced tea on Josiah at Mabel’s Tables.
This book starts off from where the other ended. Mabel just paid Josiah to keep Becky for a week and if she disappointed Josiah in anyway she was to be kept a second week. If still she was a disappointment, she was out of the business. Permanently. She doesn’t start out real well with the other slaves having doused their Master and then followed them home.
Josiah decides to give her a chance and to see how it goes.
Marvin is having a hard time with himself. His self loathing and self hatred are at dangerous levels especially when Darla catches him punishing himself severely. Darla approaches Josiah with her concerns and what she thinks should be done.
The death of a loved one form Book 1 brings sorrow, tears, happiness and a closeness and new intimacy between Josiah and his slaves. This also introduces new characters into Josiah’s world.
Anita and Simon rejoin the family at the farm for training both of them. Her as a slave and him, her Master. She comes thinking she is a princess and is above all others but is quickly learning that she is not such and is paying for her past “crimes” as a lawyer with shady practices. This also brings in her parents, Marcus and Cathy.
Will Becky pass the test and become a good slave and inherit her aunts legacy, Mabel’s Tables? Will Marvin ever be forgiven and welcomed lovingly into this fast growing family? Will Anita and Simon stay together, weather the storms and become a good slave/Master couple? What more will this family do to show their love and devotion to their family and their Master? To find out, read the book. I can’t wait to read the next one.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2016Once again Mr Black had given us an insight into the l love and respect and humor of this unconventional and unique family. Josiah's home is ever growing yet his love for all never falters. The family it's growing and maturing together and although I shed tears with the characters I also laughed at the sense of humor. I personally have fallen for this family and cannot wait for the next chapters in this family's life. Lucas X Black is an amazing story teller! If you haven't read Josiah's story, well three is no time like the present to begin!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 8, 2020This is the 3rd in the series, and at times feels a little heavy and I have to pause in the reading, I really enjoy the book and storyline. I fear Josiah is going to have more than he can handle at some point tho. I'm off to find book 4 now!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2020I love how Lucas ties in his characters from each book in this series without having cliffhangers. You will still want to continue reading the whole series, I have a hard time putting it down.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 28, 2017As I got more into the story I honestly got more interested in the lives of the family and could not wait to see what happens next. Each character got more complex i got more interested in how the whole family would get closer.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2016' Dang it'...it's all happening now, Lucas Black has brought me into tears reading book 3 'Slave Life'. They are joyous tears especially for one slave 'Marvin' this book has removed all visual pain of intense punishments. I'm seeing Josiah's Love rather than disgust or fear.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Read
Josiah's "family" is growing, with new arrivals Astrid and Becky added to his "stable", making nine. After a tear jerking death that effects all, Josiah and his family are joined by Anita and her still-green-behind-the-ears Dom, Simon---with a couple of unexpected arrivals, Anita's parents, joining the growing clan for the weekend after Anita was humiliated and brought down a peg or two, learning her place.
I am loving this series...the emotions---joy, humiliation, love, obedience, respect---the depths between Master and all of his slaves, struggles faced and overcome...and at times humorous. I can't wait to read the next instalment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Like the previous two
Continuing with Josiah's story. Like the previous two. I was intrigued by this growing clan of a family that showed discipline and love beyond adversity. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
