Landon & Shay - Part Two: (The L&S Duet Book 2) Kindle Edition
A beautiful, broken boy who had his own world of struggles.
People warned me against our love, but I didn't listen.
We looked weak.
Young, foolish.
Dangerously in love.
We didn't care.
In order to keep our hearts protected from the opinions of others, we became each other’s secret.
We shared stolen moments. Tender touches. Secretive embraces.
It was our twisted love story, and it worked for us up until our lives changed forever.
The boy I loved became Hollywood’s newest golden boy.
His career blossomed as mine stalled.
He found massive success as I discovered multiple failures.
He made something of himself, while my dreams never came true.
We moved into different realms where our pieces no longer fit together.
In the fairy tales, love conquered all.
In reality, love was the main reason empires began to fall.
I always knew Landon belonged in my story.
He was my beginning, middle, and end.
The only problem? I wasn’t certain I still belonged in his.

What a spectacular ending to Landon and Shay's story. Their story had the most amazing, real, flawed and beautiful characters. ALL THE FEELS. The good. The bad and The ugly.
I loved getting on this ride and enjoyed the ups and downs. AND the perfect epilogue *gah!* ♡
I absolutely love Shay and Landon. And Mima, Raine, Hank, Karla..... all of them.
Part 2 gives us Shay and Landon as adults. We see them grow and evolve and trying to find themselves without losing each other and then life happens.
AND we also see 3 generation of women holding each other and always supporting each other.
AND the friendships!!! Beautiful (for lack of a better word) the friendships are priceless.
♡"How's your heart?"..."Completely full"♡
- Reviewed in the United States on February 18, 2021If you, as a reader, seek greater understanding and compassion of Clinical Depression and suicidal thoughts and behavior and enjoy a good story of soulmates finding their HEA, then this conclusion to the two part story is for you! Beautiful, in-depth story of the struggles Landon endured on his personal journey to conquer depression and pursue his dream of acting.
In addition, readers are enlightened by the struggles of fame and the media distortions presented in the tabloids of who these actors really are. It is truly a misguided sense of reality. Ms. Cherry crafted a story that not only addressed these issues with heart and feeling, but also graces readers with a love story just meant to be.... no doubt about it!
The only criticism I have is, for me, there was just too much push and pull in Landon and Shay’s relationship. I was beginning to get frustrated, particularly with Shay, to the point that I wanted to become a part of the story just to shake her and tell her “Wake Up.”
Landon and Shay’s relationship with Greyson’s daughter, Karla, was so tender and heartwarming. The care and concern for this “damaged” young girl impacted me to my very core. The story dealt with the cruelty of bullying a young girl due to her scars and deformity resulting from a serious car accident. Landon in particular was quite influential in guiding Karla on a journey to self healing. What I would have liked to see happen in this story is an intervention with Karla’s bullying classmates to get at the center of this dire situation. Landon would have been the ideal character to guide those children on a path to kindness, caring, and understanding.
I listen to the Audible companion when I drive and as with the first installment to this series, the narration was good. My only complaint is that the characters could have used a slightly more mature tone since they were in their thirties during this story and still sounded like teens.
In conclusion, despite the few shortcomings, I wholeheartedly recommend this book and THANK YOU Ms. Cherry for your stellar writing!! ❤️
- Reviewed in the United States on December 7, 2019I can't ever say this enough. Brittainy is the ish!!! I had to send all calls to voicemail, tell the kids to go watch some movies. I had to do whatever it took to finish this book in peace. To immerse myself in L&S's world.
Did I cry? Duhhh. Name a BCC book that won't make you cry... I'll wait... 🤔
Did I curse and get angry? Heck yeah. Damn skallywags.
Did this book make me feel? Absolutely. No doubt about it.
Again this book connects to me like no other.
"The older you get, the more you’ll realize that just because a friendship has history, it doesn’t mean it has longevity.”
"...sometimes you have to walk through the darkness for a while before you’re able to reach the light."
There so many memorable moments about this book. Landon loves hard. I feel in love with Karla. Another broken soul, in which Landon was able to connect to and basically use his own testimony as a healing word for her.
Is there anything I would have liked to see from this duet?
Yessss!!! I would've loved in book one when Landon acted a fool at the part where Shay took her cousin. I would've loved to read Shay's POV of that moment. It had to have been big since her cousin was anti partying. I would've loved to read how Greyson and Eleanor officially met. How much work did it take to get her to go to the party in the first place. How Shay felt at that moment with Landon's stupidity.
This duet is a must read and I suggest a box of tissues and a bottle of wine. Another 5 Star Duet from Brittainy C. Cherry.

B. Cherry, You are so talented with words. I've read so many romance books and you are my number one author. There's nothing like your books, there's nothing like the words written each and every page. It's so captivating and powerful. It's real and magical because I'm hooked. I've read every single book you wrote and every time I read it i felt contempt. There's nothing like you and you are one of a kind. Please continue writing.
Now, I don't know what to do for the rest of the year. Lol!
I highly recommend this book. Read Landon and Shay part 1 first.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it
This had me from start to finish. From the first moments of them falling in love to the breakup. I was gripped and my heart broke for both of them when the end came. The build up to getting back together and completing their story was well written and my heart was in my stomach for most of it. If I myself had a better way with words this review may be better but either way it’s a great read if you enjoy love stories with plenty of angst.

5.0 out of 5 stars Part 2

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding, dark, real
I firstly just want to thank this author. Since March I have read over 150 books, trying to get to 200 before the year was out. A lot of the stories blend together and it becomes hard to differentiate between which book was which. This two parter will not be one of them.
I’ve just finished my 3rd by Brittainy, honestly, I’m blown away.
Depression is something that many authors try to put into the written word. Not many truly grasp the complexity of it. Landon’s struggles had me in tears on more than one occasion through part one and two.
I related. I read those words and knew that’s what I felt.
I’m so glad this was a two part journey because trying to fit the story into one would have lost what was truly special about this story.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who wanted a raw and gritty love story. Not all loves are easy and this one will take you to the darkest corners of your mind.
To the author, Thanks for the great journey.
To the readers, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good skeleton
The book has the great sturdy skeleton to flesh out...the repetitive affirmations of love, Shay constantly being the external stabiliser/format and clichéd made a good book pretty cheesy. The reason breaking point of the book appears so petty when you look at the trauma they both gone through. Depression is a big topic and the author tried to tackle it.
